Come Out to Play

OK, so we’ve all been there. You’ve been in ‘da club’ for 2 whole hours and, rather than concentrating on that hottie by the bar, you just end up grimacing and making faces. God damn you need a cigarette. It’s all you can think about. But just look at the queue to get outside, bouncers staring with bulging eyes, stamps on your hands and a general ‘hit and run’ of nicotine. Nice.

What you need is outdoor clubbing! Ok, so we confess that winter isn’t the best time to be thinking about clubs with outside areas, but hell, smokers are a hardened bunch. And besides, we’ve noticed the weather warming up just a touch, and the mornings getting that little bit lighter. Our wishful thinking? Maybe. But before you know it the summer will be here. …

Girl on Girl Action

Posted by: Kelly Hussey 04/02/2008 @ 17:04

So ladies, we all know that most men love nothing more than to see scantily clad girls dancing around with their boobs out, leaving little to the imagination - hmmm, hot! Whether we approve or not, the lads love it!

But how would you feel if your girlfriends suggested a girls night out to, well, a strip joint. Interesting. So furry cups and heavy bosoms may not float your boat, but maybe, just maybe there’s a little part of you that is intrigued at the idea. Whether it’s to see what all the fuss is about, to compare yourself to what men consider sexy or just satisfy a mild curiosity, we reckon it might not be such a bad idea. Stringfellows, Secrets, …

To Bowl or Not to Bowl?

Posted by: Kelly Hussey 01/02/2008 @ 14:41

Ahh those were the days. Thirteen years old and a mate’s trip out to the bowling alley. We remember it fondly. A Diet Coke in one hand and bowling ball in the other - and who could forget the compulsory smelly bowling shoes - sexy! They were easier times, innocent times, good times.

Well, over the last couple of years, bowling alleys have been upping their cool and trying to appeal to more than bored teens – and we have to admit that we've kinda been sucked in. With restaurants and fully stocked bars alongside the alleys they’ve fast become the alternative evening out and make a great alternative to hitting the local pub for 10 pints followed by a greasy kebab. …

Brixton: Haven or Hell?

Posted by: Kelly Hussey 31/01/2008 @ 17:35
Subject: Clubs

Brixton is an unusual little place. We know it has a bad rep for crime and general nastiness (think parks filled with unemployed druggies), but it has become a desired place to live and, most importantly, is in strict contention for the crown of the clubbing capital. And here at ViewLondon we must admit that it’s been growing on us for years – and not like a wart!

OK, so Fridge has had a bad rap lately, but don’t let that taint your judgement of the area. If the only areas you tend to go out in beginning with B are Belsize Park and Bayswater then you need to stop laughing into your coffee, read on…

Firstly, there are the ultra-trendy haunts, places like …

Proud to be Fetish

Posted by: Kelly Hussey 30/01/2008 @ 17:41

Hands up who likes to don a rubber catsuit and dance around their bedroom late at night. Come on, don’t be shy! Ok, so it’s not the kind of thing you announce when you first meet someone: taking about your fetish habit over hors d’oeuvres isn’t common practice. And who can blame you, for the longest time fetishists were ostracised, made to feel weird and perverted - and banished to the darkest depths of Soho to deal with.

But no more! Now fetish clubs have come out of the shadows and are brandishing their nights proudly for all of us to see. Who cares what everyone thinks? Us Londoners are an open-minded lot and the rubbery slope from burlesque to fetish is a slippery one and it turns out we’re all falling for it hook, line and sinker. You just …
