DJ Bars in London

I swear, my account is a vortex for money. Money goes in and it just… Disappears! God knows where it all goes. It DOES mean that as pay day falls after the weekend this month (probably the longest month of my life!) that I now can’t afford to go clubbing.

However, abject in my misery, a little spark of an idea began to form in my brain… a real lightbulb moment. Why pay an outlandish club entry fee on a Saturday night when I can get into a DJ bar for free and still enjoy quality tunes (or shall I say choooons?).

DJ bars in London are all the rage at the moment as people cotton onto the fact that they often offer line-ups to rival the big clubs. The Westbury, for example, is a humble bar in Kilburn that has acts like the Nextmen regularly DJ for them (they’re playing there tonight, in fact) and for just £3 before 11pm you’ll be quids in. New bar Aquum has caused a bit of a stir since it launched, attracting a barrage of criticism beside its array of compliments, but nobody can contest that it’s been almost constantly packed out since it opened in Clapham a couple of weeks ago, and with a dancefloor and regular DJs, its free entry but West End style club atmosphere is sure to appeal.

Of course, if you’re adamant that superclubs in London like Ministry of Sound, Matter and Pacha London are for you then you can always cut back on the expense of the evening by hitting pre-club bars first. Especially when they’re offering Happy Hour deals. Genius, right.

I do believe I’ve just come up with a solution to a Saturday night sat in front of the TV. There’s only so much Saturday night TV this girl can take, so with a bit of planning I’ll be heading out with just a few quid in my pocket.

See you on the dancefloor!
