Waste Not, Want Not

There have been some strange things on the news lately, but none more puzzling than the information that the UK is one of the biggest food wasters around. Ok, we’re all guilty of making a bit extra now and then, but we were planning on eating it, honest! Turns out that we cook enough extra food at dinner to feed at least an extra 19 million people. Yikes. (Although, for all that food, you’d think they could at least help with the dishes…)

Luckily eco-champion Arthur Potts Dawson of Acorn House and Water House has come to our rescue, along with online supermarket ocado. Turns out that running a kitchen in your home isn’t too different than running one in a restaurant – even if said restaurant is equipped with a wormery. Although you may not have an army of dishwashers on hand, you can still figure out how to feed yourself and your loved ones without wasting enough food to satisfy a small village.

Check out the video below to see what the famous chef has to say about saving the planet while you cook.

Now that’s not such a waste, is it?
