2009 was a great year for film as audiences flocked to the cinema in droves to see films like Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. But will 2010 be even better? With new films from directors Martin Scorsese, Peter Jackson and Tim Burton, next year looks set to give 2009 a run for its money. Here’s the View London pick of what looks to be the best of the best for 2010 film releases.
The Road
Viggo Mortensen stars as a man trying to keep himself and his son alive in a post-apocalyptic world. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book from Cormac McCarthy.
Up in the Air
George Clooney stars as a management consultant who finds his job threatened. Directed by Jason Reitman.
The Princess and the Frog
Disney returns to old school animation in this American update of the famous fairy tale, due to be released in January.
Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire
One of the 2010 film releases that was previewed at the London Film Festival, this drama is based on a novel about a troubled New York teenager.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part One
