London Film and Cinema Guide
Animate the World Film Festival is a unique film event dedicated to animated world cinema. Taking place at the Barbican over two weekends in May, the festival will showcase a diverse range of animated films for children, film enthusiasts and family audiences to enjoy.

Two weekends of Animate the World
Returning for the seventh year in 2008, the Animate the World Film Festival will run over two consecutive weekends, featuring a full programme of cartoons, animated features and short films.

Interactive fun
A series of workshops give young visitors the chance to get interactive with animated cinema at the Barbican. Workshops include claymation and special effects creation, just to name a few.

Animate the World shorts
Over the first weekend of the film festival kids can enjoy a whole range of animated short flicks for free. Simply turn up in the foyer, pull up a bean bag and catch the action on the big screen from 10am onwards.

Highlight films
Highlights at the 2008 Animate the World Film Festival include the first ever full length musical colour animated film, Hoppity Goes to Town, and a special preview of the Tales of the Riverbank. Film fans can see the latest in animated world cinema in London, whilst young audiences can enjoy new adventures on the big screen.

International films
A number of new films will be screened at the Animate the World Film Festival, from countries all over the world, and non English films will be subtitled so that everyone can keep up with the films.

The Animate the World Film Festival takes place at the Barbican from Saturday 10th to Sunday 11th May and over Saturday 17th May 2008.
