Back for 2010
The London Childrens Film Festival, hosted by the Barbican Centre in partnership with Macquarie, is a unique London-wide film festival aimed at kids and family audiences. First staged in 2005, the festival returns again for 2010 to showcase dozens of films including the best of current children's world cinema and special preview screenings of films yet to be released in the UK.

Films in London
Based at the Barbican and seven other London venues, the London Childrens Film Festival promises a far reaching film and cinema event for family audiences throughout the capital. Film screenings will take place at venues including: Barbican Cinema, Electric Cinema, Greenwich Picturehouse, Phoenix Cinema, Rich Mix, Rio Cinema, Ritzy Cinema and Stratford East Picturehouse.

Schools’ programme
Separate primary and secondary schools’ programmes have been created for 2010, designed to highlight the educational value of film and explore the medium on an intellectual as well as recreational level. London Childrens Film Festival screenings and events will be held at a number of venues, with various events for primary and secondary pupils.

Special events
Every year there are simply hundreds of events that take place during the kids' film festival. Whether your kids want to take part in family filmmaking workshops, a Moomins themed Finnish breakfast party, a family film quiz, free musical workshops or just hit the Drop in Zone for more activities and screenings, there is plenty to see, do and make.

Film highlights
Some of the best new kids films will be screened during the festival, making for a fantastic celebration of childrens filmmaking talent. Fans of animation will love the special preview of the latest film from the team behind Shrek, Megamind, in 3D. Kids can also sing along to the special interactive screening of the Disney favourite Beauty and the Beast. With films from the UK and from around the world on show, there is something to please every film loving kid in London.

Interactive fun
As well as film screenings the kids' festival also includes special workshops, giving visitors the chance to get hands on with film related activities. Highlights include puppet making, animation workshops and filmmaking classes, promising engaging film fun for young Londoners.
