Pining for the films from the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival? Fear not, because great gay and lesbian themed films are back in London thanks to the regular Out at the Pictures series at BFI Southbank.

Lucky for you, the BFI Southbank has gay films in the spotlight with their gay and lesbian film season, Out at the Pictures. Focusing on films by and about the gay community, you’ll want to check them out no matter what your sexual orientation.

Out at the Pictures celebrates some of the best in world gay cinema at the BFI Southbank with a tale of forbidden love in apartheid South Africa, The World Unseen, screening on 28th June and 30th June 2009. Also showing at the BFI Southbank on 16th July and 19th July is Far from Heaven, directed by Todd Haynes and starring Julianne Moore and Dennis Quaid as a married couple guarding secrets from each other in 1950's America. So head to the BFI for a journey through some of the best gay and lesbian flicks.

Out at the Pictures highlights
Coming soon in July 2009 is highly enjoyable Sapphic wartime caper Two Thousand Women, which follow the daily lives of women interned in a luxury hotel in occupies France during the Second World War. Two Thousand Women will be screened on Tuesday 7th July and Friday 10th July 2009..
