The Polish Film Festival is back in London for its 10th year, and this year the festival is guaranteed to bring out the best in Polish cinema once again. From dramas to comedies and thrillers, there’ll be plenty to see for everyone in what promises to be a truly multi-cultural event.
Celebrate Polish culture
As one of the fastest growing London communities, people from Poland have undoubtedly enriched the culture of our capital. Celebrate Polish contributions to the world of film and cinema at a festival featuring some top films from some of Poland’s best directors, writers and actors.
Polish films
See some of the country’s most influential films and shorts at the Polish Film Festival, featuring work from the best in the business. Highlights include the Kinoteka 10th birthday celebrations, in which leading British and Polish filmmakers select their favourite Polish films. Ken Loach has selected Ashes and Diamonds, while the artist Miroslaw Balka has selected Kanal.
Q&As
Head to the Polish Film Festival for Q&As with influential directors and actors, where you can pose your questions to actors from the films as well as film directors at the festival. Special guests for 2012 include Malgorzata Szumowska (who will be discussing her latest film, Elles, starring Juliette Binoche), as well as Robert Wieckiewicz, Jacek Bromski and Ronit Kertsner.
Kondratiuk brothers
New for the Kinoteka film festival in 2012 is a special collaboration with UK Jewish Film, which sees a screening of the documentary Torn at Everyman Cinema Hampstead. There's also a showcase of feature films, animation and documentaries by debut filmmakers as part of the New Polish Cinema strand.
Live music
Another highlight of the Kinoteka Polish Film Festival takes place at the Barbican Centre, and involves an unusual and innovative music concert by classical composer Krzysztof Penderecki and Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood. The avant garde concert will be accompanied by contemporary lighting and video installations.

The 10th Polish Film Festival takes place in the heart of London at the Riverside Studios, as well as at The Barbican, Prince Charles Cinema Everyman Cinema Hampstead, Curzon Soho and Whirled Cinema. Other festival locations the National Gallery.
