I have given one star only because it is not possible to give no stars. The first thing I noticed when driving to this cinema was that the usual route was closed and there was a diversion in place which was marked out by painted arrows. The second thing i noticed was that there was just a cinema and a Frankie and Benny's on the site. Everything else was boarded up.

When I stepped out of the car I was overwhelmed by the smell of sewers. We had arrived early to pick up our tickets and planned to have a drink in a bar. We ventured in to Frankie and Benny's for a drink (which we waited 15 minutes to be served with, while batting away flies)

We got into the cinema to be confronted by rude staff and a filthy cinema. In the seating area there was popcorn everywhere and the floor was sticky. There was lots of space though as there were only two other people in the auditorium. Unfortunately the smell had permeated into the cinema by this time.

We watched the film and left the cinema the way we had arrived, only to be told that the front doors were locked and we had to leave by a side exit. Which we did, out to the smell of sewers.

We have been going to Jenkins Lane cinema on a regular basis, it has always been clean inside. As for the sewage smell well the sewage works is on the cinemas doorstep. I have found the staff OK, but disappointed that their prices are a bit steep, if you want to buy drink and food. I found this cinema to be comfortable, plenty of leg room, unlike the one in Stratford, where people who sit behind you seem to like kicking the back of your chair, and also some customers who use the cinema use it as a place to chatter spoiling other peoples enjoyment. Unlike Jenkins Lane as we have been able to enjoy the film.

Yikes. Wait for the DVD to come out would be my advice.
