I was so surprised with my evening at 24. Normally i stay away from these west end type clubs which seem to have people with far more money than sense and everything is ridiculously overpriced, however 24 was a welcome change. Although you couldn't argue it was cheap, the decor and atmosphere was amazing and I've never seen such interactivity in a nightclub. The ibar was a particular highlight. Def one of the best nights ive had in london for a while. Would recommend to a friend and would go again!!!
I was really happy with my experience at 24. Great music, friendly staff and amazing decor. The interactive screens and ibar is something I have never seen before. Definitely worth a look!!!
I love it! Its sooo much fun- music is wkd on a monday! Soo cool - def best student night in london! X
The second time I have been to this club and both times were awesome, the music was great and the DJ kept the great classics song mixed in well with new music. All the staff I found very friendly especially the doormen which is unusual for nightclubs. Since their refurb which was my last time there it's even better with a bigger designated dance floor. Some of my friends went in December when the previous promoter was running the night and said they had problems on the door. I went through Guest-list Me and didn't have any problems.
24 was an awful experience last night. A birthday guestlist had been authorised for me for 24 last night. When we got to the club last night the door staff were rude and upset by the fact that the price that had been agreed we could pay was clearly less than they felt they should have been receiving. They then left us stood in the cold while they discussed allowing us in, eventually letting 8 girls in, stating the others would be let in shortly after. They weren't. At which point I went to check on their whereabouts, only to be told my group was too large and they would not be allowed in.
It would appear that the door people were happy to let others in but only those on tables or single sex groups which is unusual as you are always advised to go to a club in a mixed group aren't you.?! And as for the club. Well needless to say I won't be recommending it to anyone else, the drinks were overpriced, decor was uninspiring, staff were rude and the space was not conducive to dancing.
I want to share my displeasure at being openly discriminated against in the UK’s most multicultural city. Last night (Saturday 5th December 2009), I was out in the West End with friends when we stumbled across 24 London on Soho’s Kingley Street. We were a group of 12 women and 2 men, of various ethnicities. When the men asked about admission to the nightclub, they were told that the group could not enter because there were “ too many black girls in the group”. At the time we were hurt, offended and angered by the club’s blatant discrimination, but we felt unable to stand up for ourselves. We knew that if we voiced our opinions, we would have been accused of being aggressive or belligerent. What shocked us most was the openness of the discrimination. The lady on the door boldly announced that we were being refused admission because of the colour of our skin. I understand that clubs are particular about their clientele, but in the 21st century, I did not think that being particular included being racist. I want to do something about this and I hope that you can help me to name and shame the people responsible for ruining our night out and making us feel like second-class citizens.
General points about this club:1) Bouncers doing the usual 'I'm big and tough, so don't mess' attitude. Whilst the odd one is trying to grope you!2) They make you stand in a queue, because it's so packed inside? No, of course not, it's to make the club look busy!3) £1 per item in the cloakroom (don't even try and bargain for your scarf to go in your jacket pocket)4) When buying drinks and not on a table, we were told that 'minimum spend for females is £15'. Then you're greeted with a 12.5% service charge on top and each time you buy! I asked the bar staff why on earth I was being charged £4 for him unscrwing a bottle of wine and he replied 'I don't get paid enough.'
5) The clientelle is predominantly female. All absolute desperate wannabes with hair extensions and heels they can't even walk in! It's hilarious watching the ones who crowd round the door waiting for that one off male to enter.6) When in the toilets, the only form of a towel for drying your hands is offered by a toilet attendant, who then demands a tip! Well maybe I won't wash my hands next time!7) The place is the size of a match box.Did I have a good night and will I be going back...ummm...PS: Shame there isn't a minus star rating option.RUBBISH!
Ok were to start..First of all i booked a table for 10 people with a £500 min spend.
I put my 10 friends inc myself on the guestlist for the table and was told as we have a table/vip area etc we would get free entry. On the night however they told us we all had to pay £10 entry fee.
I questioned this with the manager who said this is standard proceedure even though on the website it states girls free before 11 30pm. Seeing as the group was mostly girls i told him they should be allowed for free seeing as i will be spending at least £500 in the club.
The best he could offer was 2 free entrys. I didnt want this to ruin my night so i carried on to the table to be told it is for 8 people only. The booking confirms 10 people yet they were saying they couldnt guarantee the space!
i told the manager thats not my problem as this was their mistake and made sure all my guests were invited onto the table. Then we was greeted with the menu. The cheapest option to drink was a £185 70cl bottle of smirnoff vodka.
Each bottle averaged £200+ making it the most expensive club i've ever been too! After a couple of hours we had spent the min spend of £500 and was slowing down on the drink because we was all getting a bit merry so the manager comes over and basically tries to chuck us of the table to make room for other bookings as we was not drinking enough.
By this point i was furious with staff and couldnt believe they wanted to get rid of us after spending £500 in their club! Also my friends brought me a bottle of champagne and a cake and gave it to the manager to bring out later but this didnt happen and when questioned they 'couldn't find it'!!
I was really looking forward to this place but the staff were rude and unorganised and i wish i could have spent my money in a more well deserved place. If i could give this place no stars i would.. one final word of advice.. AVOID!!
