The ViewLondon Review
All Star Lanes is the new bowling destination extraordinaire. Perfectly geared toward the recent trend for the active evening out, it’s a bowling alley, bar and restaurant under one roof, and it’s slicker than the Fonze’s bouffant. The VenueSet within the basement of a stunning period building, the action takes place around the lanes themselves – just like the old school variety, dining tables surround the alleys, from where a variety of classic American dishes are served.
The AtmosphereTo the side is a style bar with views over the games: a destination in itself. Its design subtly reflects the bowling theme of the venue, with a spherical and linear visual motif running throughout, and burgundy leather Chesterfield seating punctuated by purposely naff Seventies fringed lamps.
The HighlightsThe real jewels in the crown, however, are the private bowling lanes. With their own cocktail bar, complete with Fifties-styled waiters kitted out in Seven For All Mankind attire, this is the heartland of overprivileged kidults.
The Last WordTastefully decorated with a large, burgundy leather Chesterfield bar, there’s nothing like a game to make a group bond or brawl. All Star Lanes offers a huge amount of fun, just remember to never visit when you’ve just had a manicure or when it's nearing pay day, bowling and cocktails can prove expensively addictive.
