i always have a good night at this club -it would be better if it was open later, as per comment below! but thats because i want more. The reason i have not given a five, is because it is always so busy and sometimes find it hard to dance!
I wanted to express my huge disappointment in the behaviour of ‘Amika’ staff, particularly on the night of 21/01/12. I haven’t met not even on member of staff that would provide at least descent customer service, not even talking about exclusive, as the club states it’s really prestigious. When you read the company’s strategies, well-developed web page, you expect to have a good night and being treated special. However, it was not the case. I am going to spend my time in detail description of inappropriate staff behaviour so that people considering going to this club wouldn’t make the mistake me and my friends did.
First of all, the bouncers were really rude and the first impression just by trying to get in was really bad. We were invited to the private party and we were trying to call the guy that invited us just next to the club. The bouncers started screaming that we should move – we should either get in or out, taking into account that it was not busy after 12, and there were no people around and we were on nobody’s way.
Then, we encountered the cashier, who was normal but you would expect better service from her, as when you think entrance is 20 pounds. She clearly was interested only in taking the money as quickly as possible and getting rid of us.
Thirdly, we wanted to put our coats in the cloakroom. We decided to put on one hanger. When we realised the price was the same, we kindly asked to put on two hangers. To our surprise the guy was working there was very rude and arrogant. What we received was the accusations and unpleasant tone saying ‘Can’t you decide in the first place? You’re causing me trouble.’ And then he ignored us.. The question that arises here – ‘So this is your excellent customer service, Amika?’
At this stage the mood was already ruined and the night didn’t have any sparkle or excitement left. Anyway, we wanted to find our friends to so we could stay with them and have good time by forgetting all the unpleasant experience. The
I LOVE Amika, the hottest club on the london scene by far! Great place to go properly out out, not just your average local. Lots of good looking lads willing to splash the cash, so ladies dress up to the nines.
omg i went here with tstars parties is was AMAZING! great team! would 100% go back! pricey but amazing night if your with a host there!
I wont be returning, as below arrogant staff. No courtesy towards customers. A lesser club in comparison to your embargoes, public, raffles etc.
I am never ever going back there! Staff are totally rude and arrogant, from the bouncers to the bar staff and the cloakroom. The place is filled with brats who do not know how to behave in public. It's a shame because the venue and music are quite cool but the people in there just make it disgusting. Saw many people having issues with security - due to security behind stupid. I was literally pushed by one of the staff girls and then told off by security not to push staff. Err. I don't think they know who pays their bills.
After an initial incident/problem with the door staff had a fantastic night there music was great staff were polite and all music and entertainment was very good would probably go back there next time I am in London
I had the best night at Amika last Saturday, the music is fantastic and the atmosphere is really friendly. The staff are gorgeous and really down to earth.
Drinks are expensive and you have the usual rich twats showing off and flashing their cash but dont let that spoil your night.
Best club in London at the moment after Cuckoo of course ;>
Went to the abercrombie party at Amika with 2 friends a couple months ago and it was amazing! My mate was supposed to get us free drinks but let us down...didn't let that stop us.
Got into VIP and met some hilarious guys who kept the drinks coming. Granted, the main dance floor is tiny but there were hundreds of people and the other rooms are really nice and have less people
Would definitely go back - there's beautiful people, great service and it's just a nice place.
literally the worst night of my life. had booked a table with them in advance but when i arrived they said they had no record of it and tried to charge me another £1000 to buy another one. ridiculous. never going back
If you'd rather dress down and have a club that has plenty of space, this isn't the one for you. I don't mind posh places, so I'm not deducting stars for that, but the lack of dancing space is crazy. Combined with the fact that none of the DJs in any of the rooms were consistently good I wouldn't place this club on a must visit list. It was a well dressed, good looking crowd, so if that's more important to you than dancing and good music you'll probably have a good time.
Better music, more dancing space would have made the evening more fun for me.
This club is in a word, "pointless." The entire space is taken up with tables to maximise their income from overpriced champagne and vodka. The only dancing space is the corridor between all the tables meaning you are constantly pushed and shoved with morons trying to squeeze through the narrow "dance floor."
If you want to go to a fantastic club aimed at the same clientèle, try the roof gardens virtually next door.
Went to Amika for the first time this Friday for the bad bad bunny ball.
OMG how cool is this club! I have never seen so many bunny girls under one roof.
The music was super cool and everyone looked beautiful.
Drinks are very expensive though and to sit at a table cost over £1000 but you could tell everyone in this club was super rich or famous.
Despite living in Windsor i will now be clubbing in Kensington.
Please make taxis cheaper . This will bankrupt me!
I went to Amika last weekend for a friend's birthday. Good club if you're looking to pull as there are lots of fit girls. If you're going in a group of boys you're better off asking some girls if you can go in with them as you are less likely to get in if your a group of boys. If you like your house/dance music then you will like Amika.
I love this club! Always have a good night when I come here. It's a sophisticated club so don't expect to get in if you don't look good!
Went to Amika last night. This is the second time I have been here and both times there was quite a long queue to get in but have to say it is worth queuing up for. Great music and great looking crowd, what more could you ask for!
was at Amika on Friday for the LBD VIP party they had. I seriously cant remember the last time I enjoyed myself so much. The service i received from the staff was fantastic, i felt like a vip.
I would like to go back, as last time i didn't get to much of a view of all 3 rooms as i was mainly in the vip.
I would definitely recommend this club
Visited Amika last Saturday for the first time in a few months and all I can say is ive never gone home disappointed. The music is always great and i love the fact that they dont just let anyone in so the crowd is always nice. Great club!!
What a great night! I was with a party in the vip room and the atmosphere was brilliant. Sexy waitresses were very accommodating and music was fantastic! For anyone who writes a bad review about Amika, are you sure that you were at the same club as me! Or were just too ugly to get in! Lol
Never ever going to go back to Amika again! Me and 17 of my friends decided to get a table there for my birthday. 15 of my friends except for me and another girl (who was in the group) were not allowed in, even after specifically explaining to the rude and arrogant door staff that we were on a guest list and had a table booked. Due to the amount of people inside the club, the rest of my friends could not get out to meet me. I was standing outside the club for two whole hours until we left to Opal, which according to my friends (who were allowed to enter Amika), had a much better atmosphere and a better crowd. They explained that the people present at Amika were very arrogant, rude and just social climbers trying to pretend that they were above everyone else. Also, for girls wanting to go on a boy hunt for the night, the men were considered short and smelly. Very disappointing!
Went to Amika on Friday as some friends had recommended it to us, Wow this place is fantastic although little on the expensive side. Beautiful people and fantastic atmosphere. Amika knows how to party. The music is the best i've heard in London this year so far ;)
Been to Amika several times with a long break each time, hoping something might change. Last night completely made up my mind - to never come back. The club gets too overcrowded just before midnight. It reminded me of the tube during a rush hour. One can't walk through, forget dancing! Despite that, they still let people in and when we left, there was a looooong queue outside desperately waiting to get in.? Cocktails are overpriced as well and don't even taste good. Unfortunately everything is aimed at money and is quite deceiving. Staff are impolite. Not safe whatsoever. Too many people in such small place. Wouldn't recommend. Sorry Amika, but there is a lot to improve on.
I came to Amika last Friday night with my boyfriend and I was pleased to have had such a good night. It is actually bigger than I anticipated and packed full of very glamourous individuals! I have heard mixed reviews in the past, but with any club it has its pro's and cons. I believe Amika is very high profile and its understandable you will have to wait your turn in the queue, luckily my boyfriend and I got there reasonably early so we had time to look around and get to the bar! Great night, great cocktails and the staff are bloody hard workers there! I certainly will go back for my birthday next month, but this time I am booking a table in the V. I. P! :)
I loved NYE ;> The crowd was gorgeous but the staff are so up their own backsides. I'll definitely try this one on a Saturday night tho, the music was fantastic and the atmosphere was really something special. The finest club in London at the moment.
I hit Amika a few times by now but was a bit disappointed at how Amika had organized the NYE bash. Despite buying the VIP tickets, you still had to queue in the general line for ages. On the plus side, decor was nice along with great music and decent people. However, the club got absolutely overcrowded after midnight so it stopped to be enjoyable and I am not surprised police needed to intervene. To sum up, as the theme was ironically inspired by Las Vegas, obviously the management didn' t care at all how to value its clientele like they do right in LV. It seemed they just wanted to dig out as much as possible from our wallets. After this experience, needless to say, I will spend my hard-earned money somewhere else, dont think I will be coming back any time soon to support this money-making factory I was once a fan of.
NYE was fantastic, love this club. Stylish decor beautiful crowd and sexy music. One word of warning, it's expensive.
New years eve was an absolute shambles. They oversold tickets beyond the clubs capacity. In que for over 2 hours. Counted down the new year in long line. When I eventually got in. It was so packed. You could hardly walk. Forget dancing. People were getting trampled on injured due to overcrowding. People complained to the management but they were still letting people in. No doubt $$$$ were the bottom line no the safety of the people inside. Eventually the police had to be called due to the dangerous situation that was evolving inside.
Currently dusputing the payment with paypal. Appalling situation. But I hear the club is nice inside. Be very careful coming here. The staff are beyond incompetence.
i went to Amika last night to celebrate my NYE. entry £50 per head and 2 hours spent in the queue! after 2 hours of standing in the cold we were only half way through to the entry door. the queue was very long and regularly squezed to the wall by rude bouncers who thought they owned the street! all of those queueing up were absolutely angry and appauled. every now and then a group of people who didn't queue but knew someone who worked at the club was allowed in. some people without tickets were allowed in as well, i saw people paying on the door! and those who had already bought tickets were not allowed in!
absolutely appauling, disgusting NYE sham! if i don't get a full refund for my tickets i will post my issue to watchdog and appeal to any consumer services available in this country. i will never, ever recommend this damn club to anyone. they think tehy are above everyone else. what an attitude!
and the talks about beautiful people at the club make me sick in my stomach. you have got to be totally stupid to make such comments. it's not what you look like but what you have in your head that matters! yes people, change your attitude, it's time.
I'd heard a lot about the club from various friends and acquaintances but last Friday was my first time visiting Amika on High St Ken. I went with 5 of my girlfriends for a birthday celebration and had an amazing night! Gorgeous interior, great atmosphere and fantastic music!-What more can you ask for on a girls night out?!
Highly Recommended!
Absolutely amazing! was invited down to Amika last weekend by some friends of mine and i loved it. the music was amazing and the crowd was fantastic. i would recommend this club.
Went again on Saturday night with some girlfriends and have to say this place is incredible. One point though it is exceptionally difficult to get in! I was with four of my hot girlfriends and we ended up having to chat up some bloke who had reserved a table just to get in lol.
Been here once and never again..... rude staff especially the important girl with a clipboard!!
Pretentious crowd.... more worried about what they look like than having a good time!! and over priced!!
If you into clubbing and not rubbing then head to a decent club!!
I made an attempt to attend the most talked about club in south kensingtion Amika for my 24th Birthday on Sat 9th October. I can't actually rate this club as I was unable to get in! I spoke to the Marketing Manager on numerous occasions regarding celebrating my 24th birthday the communication was excellent and she understood what I wanted from my evening. However on arrival I was told to queue which was understandable but what they failed to mention was that there is really no point as it was who you knew not what time you got there! I waited outside with my guest from 10:30pm to be told once I got to the door I had to spend £1000 on the table to get in not to mention that the woman on the door was ridiculously rude for no apparent reason. I feel as though I have been mis-sold a product, basically the customer service is great until you get there. I was advised that my night would run smoothly and I would enjoy my night but to my dismay this was not the case! Very unfortunate and disappointing night...
I went last Friday and had an amazing experience, you really have to go to fully understand how completely electric this place is. Admittedly pricey but worth it. Definitely recommend to those who enjoy a sophisticated clubbing environment, i wouldn't bother however if class and luxury aren't your forte.
Honestly i don't usually go to these sorts of pretentious bottle service clubs as the music is usually crap..but i went on Sat (reluctantly) for a good friends birthday and will def be going back to this one... i don't usually write reviews either but I feel obliged to share my knowledge on this gem cos i cant stop thinking about how good a night it was.
The DJ absolutely nailed it and somehow managed to mix upfront house sounds with mixes of more commercial stuff with some very dirty bass lines in a way that was totally credible.
Had me going mental with everyone else in there pretty much all night.
Pricey but worth every penny in my book.
.. don't go if you have no style though... u wont get in ;)
Went there for the first time last saturday. Fantastic atmosphere, not one ugly person in there, music and lighting awesome, only downside is the dancefloor is a tad smallgo!
Had a great night here, cool vibe and people in the most part, message to people though, if you don't look good don't bother coming because you won't get in, my friend was turned away but he was dressed rubbish so it was his fault, don't blame the club we all as club hoppers want good looking people in there.
Best club in London at the moment except maybe Maddox ;)
Expensive
Bad music
Bad sound
Push wannabe
Went to Amika on Saturday for the first time in ages and have to admit that I had a really great night out! Me and my friends reserved guestlist so didn't have to queue for long and the door staff were surprisingly friendly....who knew door staff could be hot too! Once we got in, the club got pretty busy but was a great atmosphere....awesome music, beautiful crowd....the drinks were a bit pricey but I would put that down to its location. Overall I had a great night with my friends and would definitely recommend Amika for anyone looking for a fun night out
