Anil Chawla Halloween Interview
Halloween is almost here, and as the scary season descends, Turnmills gets ready for its massive celebration - Together Presents Trick or Treat with The Nextmen. Check out what Dom makes of Halloween.
The Performer: Dom from The Nextmen
The Club Night: Together Presents Trick or Treat
The Place: Turnmills
The Dates: 27th October
What’s your Favourite Halloween film? It's not strictly a Halloween film, but I'm a huge Dawn of the Dead fan (the original George A Romero film), and I quite like zombie films in general - the more gory, the better. Oh, and the Evil Dead series - they're excellent!
Which Halloween character really scares the living shit out of you?The Clown from Steven King’s IT – he’s very freaky!
Did you go Trick or Treating when you were younger?Oh yes.
What was your biggest treat? It was a bloody long time ago, so I can't really remember, but I do remember having one particularly good evening’s work and digging into the sweets until the wee hours.
Have you got any scary tunes in your record bag to drop at Turnmills?I'll be playing early doors, so I'm not sure how scary I can get with the deep house, as most of its pretty inoffensive - I'll see if I can dig some eerie numbers out of the bag, though.
Do you believe in ghosts and have you ever seen one?I do believe in them, but I'm yet to see one!
Did you know that Turnmills is officially haunted? Have you ever seen anything out of the ordinary down there before (and no, not the clubbers at 4am!)?I once overdid it on the balloons (when we used to have the laughing gas room at Together - oh how I miss it!) and it felt like I was looking through a kaleidoscope. Bit strange, but very funny at the time!
Have you got your outfit sorted yet for Together’s Halloween Rave? Not yet, but I'm sure it'll be something incredibly ghastly (I might come with my top off).
