Bar Rumba is deffinitly not a place I'll go back too... me and my friends went there after persuaded by a PR, so we were expecting a good place but its like a small dingy corridor room with a stupid excuse for a dance floor!! The music is ok I will give them that but thats about all its got going for the place!!

A friend and I were persuaded to go here by one of those London clubbing guides. We paid ten pounds to get in, and I can honestly say it is the first time that I have totally regretted entering a club in London. We decided to go to the toilets and they were so dirty, even the mirror was dirty, as well as being really tiny. I didn't end up peeing, because the toilets were just rancid.

The main dancefloor was like a thin corridor with some dingy little tables, the bar was awful. The whole place was so grimy. We left in under 2 minutes and needless to say I am never going back.

I must agree with the other reviews this is the only venue ive been to where the Music hasnt made me leave the dance floor, it kept banging out the tunes all night!
mostly a black croud, but despite what you think their all very friendly up for a laugh dance and heck they even buy us ladies drinks! shock shock!
The decor could definetly do with a lift up, it reminds me of the old hammersmith palais or po na na as it was renamed for a short while, bar staff are very friendly as are the toilet staff, drink prices are reasonable im a spirit drinker and they always have what me and my friends want.
has a few seating area's which on busyer nights your better off reserving for free in advance, its so worth it!
the bouncers are miserable looking but as the ni8ght wears on you realise they just have a warped sence of humor as anyone putting up with west end wabblers would!
overall wicked venue very urban its just a shame its a bit grotty as if they did it up their'd be no hesitation in getting all dressed up for it and have your special occasion there!

whilst reading the reviews I was quite shocked to read this statement you made "mostly a black croud, but despite what you think their all very friendly up for a laugh dance and heck they even buy us ladies drinks! shock shock!". I was just so shocked to read this and was wondering what you think black people are like for you to make such a comment? We are all humans not matter what colour we are not animals!

Anyway hope you meet a wide selection of people in your life so you are not so judgemental of people because of there colour and more of a persons character.

I went to Bar Rumba on the 12th, my first time - and OH MY GOSH. I don't know what I have not been there before. Im telling you if you want a place where you can get propper music ALLLLLL NIGHT Long. this is the place to be. I have not danced so hard ("or so dirty") in time. They had it all - if you like your regge, bashment, old skool hip hop, R&B, the works, it was there that night. If your thinking about going... dont think, just go!!!!

I went to Bar Rumba on a Saturday night it was my first time in Bar Rumba, I found it very dissapointing.
First of all, It seemed the bouncers would let anyone in as most people dressed VERY poorly and most people in the club looked under age and young school boys outside the club entrance asking the ladies 'can i get in with you?' , I was quite worried as the 'bouncers' did not seem to search anyone and they scanned my passport?...With identity fraud so high i felt slightly worried. As i got in the cloackroom was full so we had to wait 20mins to put our coats down. The bar was also poor, very bad deco and they did not have any malibu or pineapple juice left and served drinks in plastic cups like it was a school disco. If you are like myself and like classy, well maintained and high class service i strongly DO NOT recommend this club.

I went to Bar Rumba on Friday night with the girls and it was awesome!!!The music was brilliant, the drinks not to bad but the entrance fee of £10 is a bit to much i think. But all in one it was a great night out, i sure will go back.

Been going to bar rumba on Fri & Sun for a while now. I have to say this is the only club in the west end where you can get REAL music! Old Skool in the back bar is a nice addition too.

Bouncers can be little difficult but just so long as you are nice they will be nice too!

Wouldn't come here unless you're looking to party hard! You either love it or hate it and I love it.

Spent friday night at the legendary Rumba. As always the music and atmosphere was incredible.
Wanna say thank you to the lady who works in the toilet. My mate had a bit too much to drink and spent most of her time in the loo but the attendent was very sincere!
Had to stay til the end - the DJ's were playing so many good tunes I couldn't stop dancing until the music stopped - they had to throw me out lol!!!

This place really disappointed. On arrival, it was quick and easy to get in (no queues) but the charge of £10 to get in really was not worth the club.

On reaching the main dance area, it was suffocating with unimaginable nasty smells emanating from god knows where. The smoking ban really has a lot to say for itself...

The bar itself was ok, we managed to get served very quickly, but a Jack Daniels and Coke tasted more like water from the River Thames and the only shots they did were blue and red Aftershock and the regular Sambuca and Tequila.

I've only given this place 1/5 but I don't think I'd even give it that. Too expensive, too smelly, rubbish music and not worth the time and effort.

Great club, been going to movement q alot on Thursday nights.

Good vibe, builds up steadily, never so packed in that you can't rave. Also a good lack of tourists and randoms just standing on the dance floor trying to pull or not knowing wtf dnb is.

Nice chill-out/bar area playing different music, so if you just want a bar it is good. Staff are nice enough too.

We went into Bar Rumba because our first choice club was rubbish, so we were told. Got in and it was packed out - no room to move and there was no more space in the cloakroom. So what were we supposed to do? Hold our bags and coats while dancing?

The atmosphere was skanky, that's the only word I can think of to describe it. We went back and asked the woman at the door for our money back after explaining the cloakroom situation and luckily we got it back. Wouldn't go to Bar Rumba again.

I have been a regular at Bar Rumba's Friday night The Getdown for the last two years. All I can say there is a reason they won the 2006 Urban Music Award for Best Club Night! The atmosphere at Rumba isn't matched anywhere in the West End. There ain't no moody, boring, posers there just hyped people out to have a good time. The music is always good because they mix it up and don't play the same old cheesy songs that most clubs play these days. There's something for everyone.

I know all the staff, including the bouncers, bar tenders, and of course the DJs and to all those people that want to slag them off as being rude are sadly mistaken. They are sweet, helpful people who are only rude when dealing with rude people. So just come with your manners and wanting to have a good time and you will.

Had a wicked night at Bar Rumba a couple of Saturdays ago. Sound system is amazing, one of the best in town I reckon, the beer is cold and staff seem friendly enough. Beats most so called 'clubs' in the west end hands down.

Never ever go Bar Rumba! Bouncers are ever so rude. I went for my friends 21st birthday and they ID'd everyone, and even though my friend had a drivers licence the bouncer claimed that it was not her and refused to let her in! Luckily someone knew the promoter who sorted things out.

The club is small, cramped, with low cellings, over priced drinks, and an expensive cloakroom. Please do not waste your time with this place. Ghetto guys and wanabees, Bar Rumba is London's worst club for sure.

Let me keep this short and sweet - don't go to Bar Rumba. It's too small, and the ladies are cramped. There's no space to move.

To prove how small Bar Rumba is some silly boy started dancing with me, because it was over packed as I was about to take a sip of my drink he got pushed by someone else, everyone dropped onto me and the bottle smacked my tooth with is now chipped really bad.

The short fat security man at Bar Rumba should try and be a little more friendly, and learn not to scream at people like they're children. I wouldn't talk to my housemaid the way he was disrespecting those customers. Plus, Bar Rumba is over rated.

I went to Bar Rumba last Friday for my birthday along with a dozen mates and I have to say the treatment I got was absolutely terrible. I had already made a guestlist before I arrived, which you would think would get you straight into the club bypassing the queue. Wrong! I had to queue up with everyone else for at least 30 minutes, so when we got to the front we were told the club was too full to let anyone else in.

The bouncers were rude and didn't have much knowledge of their job role. I'm sure pushing people out of the way and being fowl mouthed doesn't come under that. I'm shocked at the treatment and think Bar Rumba is overated.

I went to Bar Rumba for the first time on New Years Eve. I totally recommend this place, as there was a good selection of music and it was pumping all night long. The vibes in Bar Rumba are wicked, the people are very friendly, the drinks seemd a bit pricey but I guess anywhere you go in London is the same. I will definitely be going again very soon.

The music at Bar Rumba is good! If you're into RnB and hip hop. This club is definitely your choice despite the fact that the DJ spinned some of the same songs twice. Another thing is, Bar Rumba need to be renovated. The place looks old.

I went there last night and I was so disappointed. I heard many people saying that Bar Rumba was good and I read some good reviews and I decided to go. The music was good, but the venue looked shabby, the bar needs to be renovated and the people were wearing trashy clothes.

Bar Rumba looked more like a kind of old pub or something trying to look like a club. The decoration is non-existent and the bar is tiny. The DJ played several tunes twice, some songs I did not even know. But in general, the music was okay. I would not recommend it.

I went to Bar Rumba on a Friday with some mates. It was kinda small but still lots of fun. The music was wicked. Some clubs play one genre for a whole hour before changing it, but Bar Rumba mixes it up and doesn't play the same song twice.

The cleaner in the toilet was damn rude though, and treated us like kids and shouted for no reason. Apart from that a good night out with lots of nice people.

Tonight I wanted to get in to Bar Rumba with my friend, and unfortunately the staff, mistook me for a girl from last week who caused problems and had to be thrown out. I had no idea what was going on, so I asked again, but they refused to talk to me.

I have never had any problems there with anyone, so I strongly recommend to anyone who goes there, at the end of the night tell bouncers your name and that you didn’t cause any problems during the night. This is the only way to avoid what happened to me. I think after the while it would drive the Bar Rumba bouncers crazy, but sorry, that’s what they deserve!

Well Bar Rumba is still THE place to go for a great night with people who are out to dance and have fun. The atmosphere is happy and chilled and the staff are the best!

I have been going to Bar Rumba since I first came from Denmark over 10 years ago and I still return once in a while and dance the night away. Fridays and Sundays are my favorites as it's R'n'B and Hip Hop night. I have never had a bad night there, so what are you waiting for? Get down there...

What can I say about Bar Rumba? Being a nightclub owner myself, it's hard to write a good review about another club without feeling a hint of jealousy, but my club is across the ocean in Philly - so this case is an exception!

I want to send big thanks for a great night out in Bar Rumba a few Sunday's ago. I am looking forward to this Easter weekend and popping my head in again on Sunday night.
A big up too to the DJ's who managed to slide in some of my favourite old school Jam's - I'm sure my friends in Philly (Members of Boyz II Men) will be proud to know their beats are still featuring as mixing tracks here in the UK. Thanks for a great night Bar Rumba!

As a regular at Bar Rumba I have to say that the comments about peoples attire are unnecessary! In my opinion, the fact that there isn't a strict dress code means that people go there to have a good time and not to pose around with sour faces! There is a friendly and uplifting vibe, with each night bringing a different colour, the door charge is very reasonable and so are the drinks!
You are even promised many superb DJs and PAs. The staff at Bar Rumba, in particular, are really kind and helpful - big up! Go check it out sometime...

Bar Rumba is great for a good boogie. Some ADVICE though! Wear appropriate footwear, it gets extremely busy and you'd be lucky to find a wall to lean against if your feet get tired after a good wind! I think it's also good to get onto the guest list but you MUST HAVE I.D! Cloakroom only £1 but the drinks are v.pricey, the music at Bar Rumba's good though.

A friend and I went to Bar Rumba last Friday after hearing good things about it (mostly reading past reviews from various websites) and we were sorely disappointed! We have no problem paying a cover charge but £8 was way too much for this place. First, one of the bouncers insulted us (not a good sign) and then the crowd inside was nothing to write home about, pretty sketchy actually. The music was fine, nothing amazing on that end either. Overall I was completely unimpressed and will not be back to Bar Rumba.

In response to the last review for Bar Rumba, I would just like to say I think the night they were referring to was the one off charity event we had for MakePovertyHistory. This involved a lot of African beats due to the nature of the charity.

The music on Saturday nights at Bar Rumba is usually more urban eclectic.

I went to Bar Rumba on a Saturday night. It's good if you like African music (I thought it seemed a bit like war drums and was hard to dance to).

The music at Bar Rumba was not really my kind of thing but it had good staff and was a chilled out club though very small club!

I rolled into Bar Rumba last Tuesday to Bariro Latino about midnight and had a fab time. I was really feeling the reggaeton. The DJ was really good, mixing the RnB flavas with the reggaeton.

Drinks were really resonable with lots of promos. We just missed Happy Hour which is from 11pm to midnight. Bar Rumba is a great mid-week night with a real South American feel.

I went to GetDown at Bar Rumba on Friday 26th August to celebrate my 18th birthday, having heard it was one of the top hip hop nights in London. I was not misled. Ok, so being 18 I haven't had much legal experience but the mates I was with had plenty.

Firstly, I must stress that if you want a guest list at Bar Rumba you must try and do this a good week or more in advance. The place has such a weighty guest list that without a booking you may not get in.

Anyway, we crept down to the basement of the Trocadero to the shady little bar. It had great music, an amazing sound system, reasonable prices for London and very helpful staff. I was very impressed by the generally friendly atmosphere.

Bar Rumba is a small, intimate club in which everyone gets along merrily as everyone is out simply to have fun. It was a top night out, highly recommended and we will be returning.

The only negative was the heat. Although the dancefloor at Bar Rumba has fans, it is extremely hot due to the mass of people. I would recommend not wearing anything heavy and it would probably be best to bring a sweatband. The bar is a lot cooler though if you fancy escaping for a while for a bit of relief.

Well, I wont say much apart from that I absolutely love Bar Rumba! Although it's small and not as glamorous as some other West End clubs, it has a briliant atmosphere and damn lovely staff! The doorguys are mostly polite and make sure no trouble is coming down into Bar Rumba. The cloakroom girls are as lovely and chatty as the bar guys. As for the music - I love it! Fridays is great for hip hop, RnB, reggae and soul and has a lot of potential dancers around. Saturdays at Bar Rumba are basically great for everybody and they also have a very cute DJ playing!

Well, i really cant say a lot apart from that I never had a bad night out at Bar Rumba and really enjoy coming down and having a great night, as the drinks are not that expensive as at other places and the entry is also reasonable...

I went Bar Rumba on a Saturday and it was a really good night as far as drink prices and atmosphere were concerned. There was a good urban vibe, no attitude and the staff at Bar Rumba were friendly. The only let down was the music as it was just very commercial. Maybe it was just the DJ who was playing at Bar Rumba that night. If so they could do with some better DJs in my opinion for Saturday nights although I heard that it's not always the same DJ. I'm definitely going to try going to Bar Rumba another night because apart from the crap DJ the crowd was good and the prices were reasonable.

I can't speak for other nights at Bar Rumba but Bubbling Over on Sundays is overhyped. Male/female ratio is about 5 to 1 despite ladies getting in free, nobody dances 'cos it is too sweaty and you'd get smacked up for out-stepping/spilling drink. Tunes are not that hot either, mostly old skool which is normally my forte but it seemed more like a Biggie marathon.

The only reason I go to Bar Rumba is for Drum and Bass, which makes a great change from all the usual RnB commercial crap that has taken over the west end over the last few years.

Once we got past the surly doorman, someone who definitely has a humour by-pass gene, it was great.
The crowd's a nice mixture with drinks that are more than reasonably priced, as my head will testify for today.

The music, was just awesome. Donovan Bad Boy Smith just rinsed the great sound system for all its worth.

Word of advice, if you are not a member or guest listed you need to get there before 11.30pm.
