rude and offensive behaviour of the staff of Barrio North. Never have I been treated with such disrespect at a bar for NO apparent reason. Please avoid at all costs unless you want to be treated like dirt. Much better bars in London to visit. Barrio North's management should be ashamed for having such discriminative, vulgar staff as their representatives.

I will give credit to this venue for great vibe, atmosphere and a mixed range of music. The staff were fantastic and energetic and everything runs smoothly with no problems for most times that I have been there.

It had only been just one night (SAT 30.07.2011) that I went where the music was GREAT in the beginning but then I could only blame the DJ as he disappointed the crowd towards the end before closing the curtains.

I guess there can only be some nights that are better than others, so overall, I could never blame the venue, but only the DJ himself for that particular night.

Just let me know what time slots he will be there for DJing so I could avoid it. =P

Barrio North is one of the cutest bars I think I've ever seen. Whoever came up with the interior design is a very talented person indeed. With a big helping of retro in its decor, it still manages to seem sleek, and forward-thinking and even intimate with vinatge sofas and soft lighting.

The piece de resistance though has to be the gutted caravan - yes caravan - sitting in the middle of the bar and decorated with fairylights and popart wallpaper, which provides enough seating for a small group. Get here early if you want to spend the night in the caravan!

The food and beer are great with a lot of South American influence, and the music too is anything but cheesy, and the tequilas...if only I could remember!

Where have you been hiding all my life, Barrio North?! I went here on a friday and had a brilliant time. Drinks are quite expensive, so you might as well try their amazing cocktails.
The bouncers and bar staff are all very friendly and the toilets are spotless (us girlies find that important). The music was great and there was a very cool party atmosphere. Will definitely be going again!

Finally, a bar that puts Islington firmly on the cool map. Great cocktails (best in N1 in my opinion), fantastic line up of DJs, warm vibrant atmosphere, oh and an actual caravan providing a bit of trailer park chic - amazing!

This venue is certainly a refreshing change to the usual fare in Islington - the venue, atmosphere and service was perfect although I confess to not enjoying the poetry-based entertainment on the night we went, but that's just a question of taste!
