New kid on the block Bond is standing out from the club crowd with a much-hyped refurb costing £2 million, a super high-tech interactive bar, and their groundbreaking LED light wall display. It’s definitely worth a night out.

The Venue
Bond is located within easy walking distance of Oxford Circus tube station on Kingly Street, taking over where former occupants 24 left off. The silver exterior is largely unchanged, and the bouncers outside make the club easy to identify on your first visit. Once inside, the club is basically one large open space with raised areas for the tables and slightly more space than the average members’ club – it has a capacity of 400. You’ll immediately notice the high-tech features such as the unique LED light system, which means that different décor can be projected on to the walls at whim. This feature is sure to make the venue popular for private parties and corporate events, with business clients likely to be excited at the prospect of transforming the venue with their corporate colours or logo for the night. Make sure you check out the bar, too – when you put your hand on the bar, it lights up and helps you catch the attention of the bar staff. This doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll serve you any quicker though, of course.

The Atmosphere
Bond is attracting the beautiful people in their droves, keen to check out a new venue and see what all the fuss is about. Unfortunately, this can mean long queues outside (particularly at the weekends), so make sure you arrange guestlist beforehand and try to talk to promoters who can help you jump the long lines. Once inside, the bar staff are friendly and eager to please, but on busy nights the bar can get over-stretched and you’ll find yourself waiting for that overpriced drink. None of the negatives dampen the mood though, and the crowd is upbeat and noticeably younger than other West End clubs. Expect to meet anyone from Eurotrash to footballers and the obligatory Essex girls.

The Music
DJ J Flava has been taken on to master the music policy at Bond, which is made up of accessible and fairly predictable funky house and R&B cuts. You’re not likely to hear anything you haven’t heard a number of times before here, but you’re still going to jump up for a dance after a vodka or three.

The Drink
You can either book a table with bottle service and a minimum spend or purchase drinks at the bar as the night goes on at Bond, but either way you’re likely to have to dig deep to have a good night. The £15-£20 entry fee needs to be supplemented by nearly a tenner per drink, so bring your credit card.

The Last Word
Bond’s standout feature is its appearance, with a spectacular bar area and variable light display that’s sure to wow punters and impress corporate clients. Other than that, this is just pretty standard West End members’ club fare.
