There are great things about this place so I don't want to bash it but I can't advise anyone to go there simply on the basis that one of the owners is just such a horrible person. He pretends not to recognise people he's seen a thousand times - I don't know if this makes him feel big but it smacks of bitterness, along with his scowls and nasty comments to perfectly nice people. He either stands outside being rude to everyone (except remotely famous people), or he sits inside bitching about his customers. nasty piece of work and I refuse to line his pockets ever again.
I went there on Saturday for the first time and had a brilliant night. Music was awesome, atmosphere was great and everyone was really friendly. I hope to be back soon!
This is a fab place to head on a Saturday afternoon, when on most of them you'll find a superb market. Shame they aren't listed in the venue's events!
First Saturday is the colourful and stylish Vintage Tea Party and Gift Fair. Find rows of vintage nestled in with handmade gifts and some fine cupcakes, too.
2nd Saturday you will find the fine and flamboyant art and craft event extraordinaire, the Dandy Lion Market. Each week sees a different selection, some new, some returning, wonderful makers of art and craft selling their own handmades. Sourced and cherry picked up and coming artisans whose wares are flamboyant, bold, and delicately wild.
The last Saturday brings in the longest standing Saturday marketeer Jet Payne and her baby Can't Buy Me Love, a veritable treasure chest of affordable vintage and jumble, wonderful atmosphere.
Each market is embellished with unique live and/or dj'd sounds, fantastic snacks, both savoury and sweet and the friendliest sellers you could hope for. Do check one of them out soon and grab yourself a bargain vintage or handmade buy! Leslie x
I went to the Boogaloo in Highgate last weekend, it was extremely busy! But a good time was had by me and my friends, great music! Great atmosphere!
Don't waste your time going to this place! It is over priced and the staff are exceptionally rude! My friend was insulted by the owner which is absolutely unacceptable. I never complain or take time to write reviews but in this case it is vital people know before hand what they are in for. The Angel up the road by Highgate village is a much better option.
the Irish owner/doorman thinks the sun shines from his ******.dont waste your time here..Camden is way better! This guy looks, and sounds like he never ever made it
this place was ok until the 'irish' owner pulled up off his face.we paid £3 cover charge to get in,,what a dive..never eva come here, this is a waste of time!
I've only been here on Saturday nights. Always a great night out. The music is excellent and there is a really good crowd.
Great little venue i found it a few years back and made a few cross London trips just to come see the live music!
now i live nearer, its a welcomed local!! hosts wkd live unsigned nights which is perfect for its intimate setting.
drinks could be bit cheaper but all round very happy.
I went here last week to their Sunday afternoon clubs for the first time.I am an instant convert, this place is a music lovers mecca, from their fabulous jukebox to the lyrics on the courtyard walls, its got a historic feel to it.
The drinks were not overly priced in my opinion, the staff were all girls and very friendly. The only complaint I have is that its so far away from where I live.
Will def be back.
The drinks are overpriced, the crowd is full of tourists and subrubians, the staff and managers are rude and unprofessional. The staff don't miss a chance of telling you what to do, where to sit/stand, how much to enjoy the music. Very disappointing overall.
