My friends told me that this Bar/Lounge was under new management so I was eager to find out what it was like. My first experience of Decoucher was on New Years Eve, 2009 and I was pleasantly surprised. I was hit by a certain ambiance that created a stylish, sleek and vibrant hot-spot in the heart of Kensington.
The staff were vigilant and friendly and must I say, can make pretty impressive cocktails too. Keeping it short and sweet, Decoucher's outburst in freshness will certainly make me go back for another great night.
Although I was sceptical I had a great time here. The staff were really friendly and the music was fantastic. I understand that there is now a new management on board. I could see that have been trying really hard to get rid of the stigma that was attached to this place. They're moving in the right direction and if they keep on going like this I could see this place becoming one of the best spots in London.
The Lounge bar as well was also great. It's next door to the club but if you blink you could miss it. This has to be one of the most hidden gems in Kensington. Lovely music, great staff and first class cocktails. An ideal place to come after a long, hard days work. I've heard about this club and lounge bar before but honestly I was pleasantly surprised.
Came here on a Friday night for my 21st birthday. HUGE disappointment. Was told to wait outside in the freezing cold to get into the club - a ply obviously to make the club look full from the outside. The door staff then proceeded to be rude and arrogant about ID and their attitude was just appalling, thinking they were the dogs bollocks. Finally when I got inside the door they tried to charge the boys in my group 20 quid each and the girls 10 quid when I had made a guestlist and had previously agreed girls go in for free and boys were 10 pounds. I was EXTREMLEY annoyed and then this was made worse by the fact the club was EMPTY inside!!! Unbelievable.
Drinks were ridiculously overpriced too, also they 'don't' serve single vodka drinks therefore everyone had to buy double all night. Nightmare. On the upside, the music was good at times...and some of the cocktails were pretty tasty. Generally though the staff at this place were just not nice people, but hey, that's pretentious London clubs for you. Will not come again.
Door staff very rude and not helpful... club was not very full on a saturday by 1... wont go here again.

I visited Decoucher on Friday 23rd October 2009 for a friend's birthday. The Lounge Bar and Club are Located on Church Street, just off High Street Kensington which makes it an ideal location (5 minute walk from Kensington High Street tube).
The Lounge Bar is a great idea, as this saves the customers queing out on the street in the cold – nice touch! I particular liked the seating (comfy red leather sofas)! Service comes with a smile, the bar staff are professional, prompt and make the most amazing champagne cocktails.
I found the security / door staff polite and friendly. It really is a breathe of fresh air to go into an environment where the staff actually care that you are having a good time!We moved into the club at 10.30pm and it was just getting busy.
I loved the cosy semi-private booth areas that were fantastic for our group to sit down and the waitresses promptly ensured that our drinks orders were replenished regularly.
The VIP is amazing (white leather sofas) and the music is buzzy and really gets the crowd moving. The club offers a meze menu downstairs and I have to say the food was delicious (all fresh ingredients, no processed rubbish)!
We ordered a few dishes between us and it came out very quickly, great selection on the menu and very reasonably priced.
At the end of our evening the staff even came round and actually checked that we had booked a taxi or means or transport to get home (most nightclubs just turn you out onto the street) – another very personal touch to consider your customer’s safety and well being.
All in all a fantastic time had by all – I would definitely visit Decoucher again and personally recommend it for a night out!! Top Marks!!
