As a musician I am warning other musicians not to play at this club.

Why? Well, I'll tell you why, because the sound system is rubbish and the mixing deck is a joke. I played there recently and halfway through my performance the sound gave out.

I'm seriously warning any serious musicians from going to play at this venue. As the crowd are cold, the stage is amateurish and it's nothing like a proper venue should be.

I have played at the 12 Bar club and that place is warm and enticing. Unlike Dingwalls and Lock 17 that happens to be one of these new gastro pubs that requires the brown second hand sofas to be moved in order for a stage to be set up.

Real musicians avoid it like the plague!

Hi,

As the booker and promoter of Dingwalls I would have to disagree with your comments and in fact the main room has just got a new £17,000 desk this week but I would imagine you performed upstairs in the bar - this is not a venue and I agree the sound and sound desk are rubbish. I was up there last Monday, I think, and the sound was appalling, but don't blame the venue as this is run by the bar not Dingwalls. If the main room was good enough for the Foo Fighters, and Dave Grohl loved it, then I'm sure it can't be that bad.

Having recently visted Dingwalls and Lock 17 I find this review somewhat questionable.... are you a musician ? do you know what a mixing desk is ? ....Having watched my friends jam at the acoustic night on Monday I noticed that they were using a huge mixing desk and the sound was amazing, as for the crowd goes well they responded to my friends set with lots of applause.... if you found it difficult to get attention perhaps you should try to learn a few covers as this might get a reaction.........

I AM SHAMSHIER. YES I DID PERFORM IN THE UPSTAIR BAR AND IT WAS DREADFUL, HOWEVER, I DID NOT PERFORM IN THE DOWNSTAIR VENUE THOUGH I WISH I HAD. SO I AGREE WITH YOU, "INGWALLY", THE BAR IS A RUBBISH PLACE TO PERFORM.

AS FAR AS "ANTZ" IS CONCERNED YES I AM A MUSICIAN AND WHEN I PERFORMED THERE THE MIXING DESK WAS NO BIGGER THAN 2 LARGE TRAYS STUCK TOGETHER.

AS FAR AS YOUR COMMENT, "if you found it difficult to get attention perhaps you should try to learn a few covers as this might get a reaction".

I HAVE THIS ANSWER FOR YOU, "Dingwalls is a brilliant place to see both up and coming and more established bands. Go if you haven't already."

YOU CAN NOT BE, UP AND COMING SINGER SONG WRITER, IF YOU ARE PERFORMING ROLLING STONE COVERS ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH ONE OF YOUR OWN SONGS THROWN IN FOR GOOD MEASURES.

UP AND COMING MEANS ORIGINAL AND NEW.

MY ADVICE IS, DO NOT PERFORM AT THE BAR WAIT AND PERFORM AT THE DOWNSTAIR VENUE AS THE LIVE MUSIC ARRANGED BY THE BAR IS AMATURISH AND IS GIVING DINGWALLS A BAD NAME.

LIKE "DINGWALLY" POINTED OUT!

Dingwalls was good enough for the Ramones in 1976, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters loved the venue and rocked the house to a sold out crowd in 2007. Pink kicked ass from a Dingwalls stage in 2006. The Fratellis ripped the roof off in 2008. None of these guys had the issues you claim to have had and the last time I checked all of them were pretty "real musicians." Makes me think the problems you had were down to the quality of the artist and not to the class of the venue.

If you don't know about Camden Dingwalls then you're clearly a very naive music fan! Dingwalls is a brilliant place to see both up and coming and more established bands. Go if you haven't already.
