I am not at all surprised that this very pretentious club has closed. I blame it on the staff. I once had a party there and they were more concerned with how many bottles of champagne we would be buying. They were too thick to figure out that even if all 20 of us only bought cocktails, that's still some good money. As it was we spent nearly 1000pounds in total even though we were asked to leave the VIP lounge for not ordering champagne through the waitresses.
On another occasion, I was turned away with my 2 guests for not being on the guest list even though the place was virtually empty. Before leaving, I predicted to the door staff that the place would close down if they didn't let people in who were willing to come out on a freezing night to spend their hard earned money. Voila!
I feel sorry for the owner, cos it was a pretty place in very good location.
I work at the hospital across the road but that didn't even get me or the other doctors in who wanted to unwind after a hard day's job.
