I went here for the first time on Friday night and had a decent time. It's not mouth-wateringly good but it's a fun place to go with a few mates. I didn't have any problem with the staff there but then again I try to avoid putting myself in trouble. But it's true, they do take your chewing gum away (spose you can hide stuff in it...).

The crowd are fairly chilled out and for an afterhours, the drinks were fairly cheap. Red Stripe was less than 3 quid i think.

Like someone else said, the trance room was the best outta the 3.

My favourite part of the club is the outdoor space. It's perfect for the smokers and though it sounds weird in light of the first bit of this sentence, it's a welcome breath of fresh air because it can get quite stuffy inside.

I also thought it was fairly nifty they had a free cab service from just outside Kings Cross station to the club.

There's a discount for students which made it even more worthwhile, even though we arrived well past midnight. There was no lineup when we arrived and we all had a good night. Apparently there was a 12 hour set on the night we went but we pushed off by about 7.

First of all, never pre-book any tickets to go! We had bought tickets online - which we were lead to believe were queue jumping tickets - but they are not! When we arrived, we went straight to the front of the queue, where we were told to line up against the wall, next to the ordinary queue. The person that was queuing next to me in the 'ordinary' line was in the club at least a good 15 minutes before we even got to the front of our queue. Secondly, the staff. I don't know if they could even pay them to be even more unfriendly and unhelpful than how they were last night. They even confiscate chewing gum!!! The only room in the club that had any athmosphere was the trance room upstairs, anywhere else I would say don't bother. I would say that it is a definitely student club - you couldn't swing a cat for hitting one, definitely felt like I had turned up to a party beng told it was fancy dress and it was white tie only! I think that if I was five years younger and got sooo drunk that I had no idea of who I was and where I was it would be a good night to be had by all.

Worst place I have ever been to. The door staff are the rudest people I have encountered, and having been a regular clubber for way too much time, that is saying something. The main bouncer turned my friend away for no reason at all. On asking for a reason he just said very arrogantly that it was his decision whether to let people in or not, and that was it. Staff inside were rude as well and clearly weren't interested in being pleasant. It may be a decent place, but with such arrogant staff it doesn't seem worth it to subject yourself to the way they treat you.

Ignore the bad comments don't let them sway your mind, this place rocks. The music is great plus they have 3 floors so if you prefer music in another room at least you have some choice. I have been here loads of times with different groups of people and always love it and anyone I take who hasn't been before have also loved it.

Granted certain influences may make the night better but you could say that about any club.

From the outside it looks kinda grimey but it's not inside and the people are all so cool, such a variety of styles so it doesn't matter what you're into you'll fit in.

I can't say I've had any problems with staff, except for one bird wearing a dead animal around her shoulders as if she were high class..scum.

Definitely worth a go, can't say it's bad if you don't give it a chance!!

The metal detectors in the entry to this club were probably a good idea but it does go some way to showing what kind of place this is. They also served a dual function as they must have sucked my soul out. I have rarely been to such a dull and unpleasant night. I'm a huge fan of decent electronic dance music but the shit they turned out left me for dead. Imagine being subjected to magnolia-coloured techno that just doesn't go anywhere, DJed by guys who just don't seem to give a fuck about the atmosphere. They had some nice ceiling visuals but you can't put fairy lights in a turd and expect a festive yule log.

The security and bar staff were unfriendly, there was no cohesive ethos or shared enjoyment and to be honest, most people seemed as though they were pretending they were having a good time to make up for the fact that they'd paid £15 to get in and extortionate money for drinks. Those who looked as though they may have been on pills looked like they were having a better time but you couldn't escape the fact that they were dancing to music at half volume and with the bass significantly reduced. They would have danced around a radio.

Overall, this place was dire and I will never go back. I was even shouted at for trying to leave. Don't waste your life in Egg. Go somewhere fun.

I went to egg once last year and fell in love with the place & electro musik immediatly!!

Yes da bouncers can be idiots (like everywhere else) and da man who i think is da manager does have an attitude problem a really bad attitude problem but I learnt that if I turn up with girls rather than men and approach the bouncers & the manager politely that they will respond back to you politely which is very rare in some places.

I now go egg nearly every week if i can for breakfast on sundays :D I'l be attending a little later infact ;o).

I've met soooooo many kool ppl there both men and women, I allways have a laugh and I definately always enjoy myself to the max.

Egg would have a 5 star rating from me if it wasn't for the stuck up geeza on the door, to say the truth he's turn me away a few times for the most hidious of reasons but I never give up that easily because once you do get inside its worth it ;o)

I went to Egg Saturday night which i'd been looking forward to for a couple of weeks. I'd seen a few bad reviews but brushed them off as i do feel you need to decided for yourself, different tastes and all. How wrong was I, biggest mistake, this place is a joke, the door staff are rude and arrogant. This guy swaggers around as if he's working in a top venue in New York or an exclusive club in London not a disheveled industrial Unit.

I would say read the reviews and then think about another venue, bitterly disappointed, and to think we left a great bar in Farringdon to go to that place.

Ive been to the Egg last year for a breakfast thing. At that time I thought it was quite cool although the atmosphere seemed a bit strange.
Then I went on friday night...What a disappointment...
I was with my 2 best mates, and we were so shocked by the music (it just makes your brain numb!), shocked by the smell (it just stinks!), shocked by the crowd (where the hell do they come from?), shocked by the atmosphere (nobody dance! NOBODY).
I felt like I was raped by the weird noise -the music?-. I really dont understand how people can like this club.
There s no reason to like this club. Althought you sometime dont appreciate the club, you still can understand why people enjoy the venue, but this one, I really dont get it.
The staffs are nice though. This is the only good thing about this club.
I will never ever go back to that venue.

I went to Egg last Friday night and thought it was a really good club at first. I really liked the dance music they played and the ambient atmosphere of the garden. However the security really lets the place down.

The bouncers were rude and arrogant to the clientele and I am not surprised to see others here sharing the same view. My friend was kicked out by a scrawny bouncer on a power trip and funnily enough when I went to complain the manager was nowhere to be found. I would not recommend going here if you don't want attitude from club staff. It was a really unfriendly place to go.

Went to Egg for my first time on Sat 5/5 and had an absolute blinder. Loads of random people really dressed up and loads of lovely girls dancing all night. Drinks were cheaper than most places in town too. Our group got to Egg at 11pm and had to leave at 3am to go to another party and I was really gutted to go, especially after meeting the lovely Caterina in the garden. Top, top night. Cheers Egg!

I've been to the Egg a few times (only because a friend of mine likes it), but I just don't like it at all and vow never ever to set foot in this place again! The security have a disgustingly arrogant attitude and that's just off putting enough. Plus I never actually liked the music apart from the first time.

They don't have big DJs line ups like in Turnmills or Fabric. I absolutely hate the top room especially, the layout is awful, it's small, crowded and far too hot. Plus the location is difficult to access. If you're on public transports, it's a very long walk from Kings Cross station. I would not recommend this place.

I went to Egg in a group of five people, and we all got turned away, the reason being, according to the door staff, that the manager is in charge of letting people in and he said no. This was even with waving cash in their face. We then noticed another group going in.

The only good thing about Egg was there was a shuttle bus from Kings Cross to take you there. But other than that I am never going back there, or recommending it to anyone.

I haven't been to Egg for almost a year but this sunday morning at Jaded, was by far the best time I have ever had! My mates was DJing there and he had the middle room absolutely rocking. It was just tune after tune after tune! I never thought I could feel like it was Ibiza in London, but at Egg I did.

Also it was a bonus with the security at the main entrance. I hadn't even realised how different it was up in Kings cross but I did feel ever so safe.

I went to Egg on Saturday 16th September for the closing party of the terrace bar and it was a Brazilian theme out on the terrace with palm trees and sand. The venue is stunning, the staff were friendly, and you never had to queue for the toilets which is a pet hate of mine. Also, I didn't think that the drinks at Egg were that over priced either.

We met so many lovely people there and everyone is so friendly and having a great time. We stayed on for the Jaded after party, which was amazing. The beach they made in the terrace was great for sinking your toes into and people brought buckets and spades with them and built sand castles... wicked! I would recommend Egg to anyone, I'll definitely be going again and hopefully sooner rather than later! Preferably with the gorgeous Brazilian and Portuguese guys we met there! They were stunning!

Egg is a venue, not a club, so if you hear great things about a given night, make sure you are going along to the right night! There is a huge range of events at Egg, and a cyber-goth turning up to a house or hip-hop night isn't going to be in for good time, and vice-versa, so do your homework first.

I head down on the 3rd Friday of month for Synthetic Culture, the rock/cyber/goth/EBM club. Great atmosphere, great music with 3 distinctly different styles on the 3 dancefloors, and a generally cool vibe amongst the dressed up crowd. I'd agree that drinks at Egg are on the expensive side, but the bar is open until dawn. The beer garden is great during Spring to Autumn, but a bit chilly in winter.

I've been to Synthetic Culture at Egg a few times and think it is a great venue. Occasionally the music is not so good but other times it is great and the atmosphere can be good. But the over priced drinks and the aggressive security staff really bring it down and because of this I won't bother with Egg anymore.

As a club I found Egg very tasteful I loved the layout and it gives off a sense of class, but the promotion team there have a lot of work to do as they seem to be up setting promoters DJ and clubbers by not paying smaller promoters for good work and not sticking to what they say. I would like to point out that this will eventually ruin the club’s reputation if it carries on, which is a shame because Egg is a lovely venue.

I have been in Egg once before as I heard good news about it. The first time was nothing special, but the second time was a nightmare. I paid £15.00 to get in. It was a dark, shady room, with hostile looking people in it. Also not all of the rooms were open and there were not that many people there either. There was only one dance floor in use, with weird psychedelic music.

I met a guy, sat down with his group, and started to talk. Everybody was complaining about the place, being quiet and uncomfortable. All of a sudden another guy asked me if I was a lap dancer and threw drinks on me after I got seriously insulted. Then I totally lost it and after being unable to get a drink as the bar was shut, I just wanted to go home. Then the bouncer wouldn’t let me out so I said, it’s crazy they won’t even let customers out. Then he started to call me names and I couldn’t believe it. The whole thing was completely disorganized! I will never go to Egg again.

God I missed clubbing like this. The pasty fellow certainly helped, but it was the tunes and crowd that did it for me. People in Egg were actually enjoying themselves, not pretending like in other clubs (shit music or what)! If you remember the good old days of strong pills and music that you HAD to dance to then you will love Egg. Sorry 18 year olds but this is what clubbing used to be like everywhere - just be glad you have Egg because the scene is pretty corporate and stale these days.

I felt I wanted to add this after reading some of the past reviews for Egg. One of them complained that it was common to have bags and purses stolen from Egg. I was there late last year and left my bag lying around (as I sometimes do on a night out!) and when I checked with staff it had been handed in to the reception desk with everything in it, including cash and a little note letting me know where they had found it and wishing me a good night. The point is - they are not all bad at Egg!

EGG IS WICKED! I went to Egg for the first time and I loved it! The people are friendly and there was a brilliant atmostphere. You get served your drink straight away and it's not over priced (for london anyway). Don't be put off Egg from the outside appearance, it looks like an industrial building, when you're inside it is fantastic with drapped curtains hanging from the ceiling! When you first walk in you dont see a lot of people, but just walk up the stairs and everyone is dancing.

Egg was a terrible club, and the most boring Friday night I have had in a long time. Some friends and I got to the club around 11 (after walking what seemed like a mile from the nearest tube station, and through a really sketchy part of town), paid the money to get in (their coat check is quite expensive), entered the main area, and there was nobody there. Seriously, for a club that's supposedly so big, there were maybe 30-40 people there at that time, and there were about 3 or 4 guys trying to show off on the dance floor and ending up looking like idiots.

The drinks were so expensive (though I'm sure that's true for any clubs), and the music was not what I'm used to and was really hard to dance to. I'm sure if more people had been there it would have been easier to dance, but being one of the few out on the dance floor made it hard to enjoy. We stuck it out in Egg until about 1:30am, and it was still not busy at all, and there were no cute guys there. By that time they hadn't even openned the other two floors of the club! Anyway, I really would not reccomend this club, especially since you can't expect it to get started really until like 3am. Not a good experience.

My first time at Synthetic Culture at Egg I was a little scared by the bouncers and what I was getting into but they was actually ok. I didn't think I would like a place like Egg because I only went there to meet a girl I meet a week before at a different nightclub but once inside I fell in love with the night, dancing and chatting to dudes and gals.

However, beware, the drinks can be expensive! Overall, it's got my approval. It's really refreshing to go to a club that's different and good. Look forward to going to Egg again for more adventure and fun.

I went to Synthetic Culture at Egg which runs every third Friday and all I can say is wow!
It was a real breath of fresh air compared with other parties and Egg is such a nice venue.

There's a good sound system, brilliant DJs playing an eclectic mix over three floors - from rock and metal in the basement, through hard dance and techno on the middle floor to electro/eighties and EBM in the loft. I definitely recommend this night at Egg!

Didn't get any hassle from staff or clubbers. In fact, everyone was friendly as I would expect. Some people did try and queue jump, which they then got ejected for, and so they should. Please queue and wait like everyone else.

I have never, ever in my life encountered such unnecessarily aggressive and rude bouncers as I found at Egg. They embrace the worst kind of cliché and are a discredit to their profession. Egg itself is well designed, the music was good, there were loads of pretty people and the outside area is great for summer after hours. However, I would probably choose to go somewhere less glam to avoid the hassle from these bouncers at 5am. Who needs that?

If I could, I'd go to Egg every Saturday night. I've been to most of the nights there including Prolougue + Fallen Angels, all the nights are as good as each other although some tend to be slightly messier than others and a Sunday afternoon leaving time can turn out to be quite tiresome on oneself. Just take dark sunglasses to wear on departure. The cream of funky house, breaks and hard, dirty house are all on offer and there is something for everyone, although I'd say the more passionate about the music, the dancing and the vibe the better time you will have. I've met many a friend sitting outside and you will too if that's your scene. I love Egg!

Egg rocks! The atmosphere is great and the tunes are proper house music. In summer, the terrace is a real bonus. If you make it past 6am on a Sunday morning the place re-opens for Bleached and you get clubbers from venues all over town - a whole new set of people to talk to about the nights antics! You are always guaranteed a solid night at Egg.
