Worlds will be colliding at the 2011 Ether Festival, which fuses music and technology into two weeks of amazing performances. Filled with shows by underground artists (and a couple of famous faces or two), Ether is guaranteed to be a magnet for all club kids, tech heads and music fanatics.

10th anniversary
Previous Ether incarnations have seen artists like Kraftwerk, Royksopp, Lou Reed's Metal Machine Trio, Goldfrapp, Fever Ray, Dizzee Rascal and Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead try their hand at mixing up their stuff with a combination of visual effects. This year's festival promises a similarly impressive line up of innovative musical talent to celebrate Ether's 10th anniversary in grand style.

Ether 2011
This year’s lineup includes a wide variety of acts from all different genres. At the 2011 Ether Festival you can feast your eyes and ears on the likes of post punk outfit Killing Joke, as well as Wolfgang Voigt, Mirror, interactive music pioneer Tim Exile and electronic music act Panta du Prince. Fans also have the chance to see the Micachu & The Shapes, as well as hear big sounds from the likes of the London Sinfonietta and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Will Gregory at Ether
One of the highlights of the 2011 festival is likely to be the performance of the debut opera by Will Gregory of Goldfrapp fame. Piccard in Space follows the adventures of the ground breaking physicist Auguste Piccard, who took to the skies in an airtight capsule and rose to a record breaking 51,000ft in an attempt to prove Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Tickets cost £15.00, with performances taking place from 7.30pm on 31st March and 1st April.

Free events
A number of free events are also taking place as part of the 2011 Ether Festival, including performances by the Young Xenarchitects, a group of young musians inspired by the composer and architect Iannis Xenakis. Other free gigs include two special editions of Friday Tonic, curated by DJ Nick Luscombe.

2001 - A Space Odyssey
Film buffs can also look forward to a special screening of Stanley Kubrick's film 2001 - A Space Odyssey. The film screening at the Royal Festival Hall is to be accompanied by live music from the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by André de Ridder.
