Heaven appeals predominantly to London’s gay community (but not exclusively so) and plays host to some of Europe’s biggest DJs; being the choice venue for many an album and brand launch night.

The Venue
Heaven is located in Central London, amongst the Arches of Charing Cross, just around the corner from Trafalgar Square. Immersed in the cool coves, this is a fairly large venue with various floors, alcoves and an ample dancefloor, which is preceded by a comfortably fitted lounge and bar area with sofas and bright lights. The alcoves act as booths away from the music madness going on next door, with it’s own bar running almost the length of the club. There’s also a large VIP area that almost rivals the main area.

Upstairs, you will find space used as an extra area on bigger club nights for another DJ, complete with bar and second dancefloor. Note there are sometimes other functions held here, including a comedy night!

The Atmosphere
You can expect the usual on most rave nights at Heaven: a packed venue with everyone geared up by the performer, glow sticks, furry boots and podium dancers. Everyone from Cher to Europhia perform at this venue, pulling in the big crowds (expect most of these to be ticket only events). Sometimes you’ll come across a brand being promoted or another type of launch night.

On the whole, it’s a busy and eager crowd looking forward to the night’s entertainment, all very friendly and cool.

The Music
Everything from Afro-Caribbean music to pop has been spilled from the speakers at Heaven. But the best bet is a dance-orientated evening with different areas in the club likely to be playing different sorts; europhic to funky to electro. There’s a different night on most days of the week so it varies but you’ll likely be met with some form of dance amalgam.

Drink
The drinks at Heaven are the London average club price: don’t be surprised to pay around £4 for a beer and more for a spirit mixer.

The Last Word
This is a big venue where you can expect a rave or a standard dance night, with the tempo cranked up if there’s a special performer or launch party.
