Really surprised to read so many negative reviews of HB especially as my friends and I go out in amazing bars all the time and know all of the staff at top bars and clubs across the capital and everyone agrees Hedges is one of the best. It's not just me who thinks it.

Sounds to me like a couple of people have an axe to grind and who on earth ever returns their membership card? If it's going spare Stuart845 I'll happily take it off your hands!

People return membership when they haven't been provided the service promised or expected of the price. I have no axe to grind and plenty of other cards to use. My custom is welcomed at plenty of better places throughout London, it is not the owner who makes a place, it's the customers.

Hedges and Butler: in a nutshell; rude, elitist, pretentious and unpleasant. Even though we had tickets for an event held on Thursday 30th we were treated badly on the door by their rude and over zealous bouncers.

Further offence was caused by the attitude of the toffee nosed 'meet and greet' public schoolboy on the door who happened to be blacked up - maybe to evoke the atmosphere of the night they were promoting (Last Tuesday Society). Ironic - no. Offensive - yes. There's a reason why some things should be left in the past. I'm not ridiculously politically correct but you have to draw a line somewhere.

Then, to be forced to give your name, email and mobile in order to gain access when you've already bought a ticket felt like an invasion of privacy, especially when it was enforced in such a heavy handed way. My honest advice - dont go there and dont give this club your hard earned money.

Hedges and Butler and the Last Tuesday Society desperately need to learn about manners, respect and being welcoming and inclusive.

The Hedges and Butler boss is very rude! I was asked to leave even through I was on the guestlist. My friend felt very sorry for me, but by the time he discovered it, it was too late! I believe the Hedges and Butler boss does not like some people to get into the club, I guess they are born to be rude.

What can I say about Hedges and Butler? The owner is known for his mood swings. He is rude and abusive and thinks he is special. All he did was design dresses for Dynasty for god sake.

The price of the drinks are okay but the presence of the gangster types from Caberet who swarm there at 4am make it intimidating.

The staff have all been fired now and the owner walks around with his new girl in tow behind him. Stay away from this Hedges and Butler.

If I could have given Hedges & Butler a minus score I would have. The staff are arrogant and rude, fights are frequent, coats are stolen from cloak rooms and over all the club is extremely mis-managed. Avoid it at all costs. Contrary to what Ray has written there are far better clubs around, I'm returning my Hedges & Butler membership.

I can't understand the negativity about Hedges & Butler. I think it's a welcome departure from all the tacky sheen of clubs like Mo*Vida, Paper and Chinawhite. It's earthy, organic feel is perfect for a non-pretentious evening out and you get a reasonably priced bar that doesn't shut 'til 6 am.

If you're going to judge Hedges & Butler on the basis of whether or not there's mould on a tiny patch of ceiling then maybe you should be at one of the afore-mentioned Z-list celebrity magnets paying at tenner for a watered-down gin and tonic.

Hedges & Butler is absolutely the worst place in London. What was supposed to be a great night out was totally ruined by the behaviour of the owner, who must be the rudest most obnoxious man in London. Avoid Hedges & Butler at all costs.

I've never been to a venue with such a high opinion of itself as Hedges & Butler, yet with so little reason. The owner was the rudest man I've ever spoken to, the decor was awful - the roof leaked, there was mould on the ceiling and the music shockingly bad. What an overpriced dump Hedges & Butler is.
