Never again! It's a shame I have to write this review because despite the poverty of this place I quite like it. But having said that on my second visit I felt very let down.I was in a group of four friends on a Friday night and called up to see if a room was available. I was quoted £35/hour and the first availability was 11:45pm (it was about 10:20pm when I called). So I said yes and gave my credit card over the phone to guarantee it.Karaoke Box actually called me back at 10:32pm to say the room was free so we went over. We had a good time but while we were buying another round of drinks we were told we had to leave because another party had booked the room. I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THIS WHEN I BOOKED THE ROOM. On my planet when you book a room you should be informed if you need to vacate it at a certain point. We had a big argument with the staff over this. The outcome was that they think they are right and the customer is wrong. The second outcome is that we will NEVER GIVE THIS BUSINESS OUR MONEY AGAIN.This is not a customer service oriented business. And that's being polite. My advice.... AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Booked a room for 5 at the Soho branch after speaking to a member of staff at the venue who assured me that I would benefit from their 2 hours for the price of 1 deal. Whilst I knew that Karaoke Box was no where near as impressive as lucky voice, I thought we'd give it a try.

However when we arrived for our Hen Do, we were told that the deal didn't apply because it was a bank holiday. I pointed out that it was Sunday and the bank holiday was actually Monday and in any case I had spoken with one of their employees who assured me that we would benefit from the deal. The manager refused to accept this and even began to patronise me in his responses. I demanded my money back, refusing to stay for even the hour we paid for in this dingy-backstreet-never-seen-full-occupancy- takeaway-shop-masquerading-as-a- karaoke-bar.

Seriously! We had just come from Lucky Voice and whilst it might seem expensive, trust me, it's cleaner, smarter and 100 times better than it's cheaper, inferior competition. That's right, NEVER go to Karaoke Box.

Do not go to Karaoke Box! I made the unfortunate mistake of booking a room here over the phone. When I got to the venue I was appalled with what I saw. The rooms were dirty and dingy, and I had been completely missold. So under the distance selling law, I requested a refund by the manager who agreed that my money would be returned by the following week. The following week, the manager told me that in fact I would not be getting my money back and that he couldn't care less about the distant selling law. He was extremely rude and after a number of phone calls and letters, I ended up taking them to a small claims court and did eventually get my money. All the reviews with a one star are completely true to what you will experience at the Karaoke bar. I have a suspicious feeling all the five stars reviews were written by the manager, as they all say pretty much the same thing, great staff, great venue and great customer service. I can ensure you that from personal experience, this is a complete lie! Save yourself the trouble - don't go to the Karaoke Box!

Great place. Great friendly people all you need to do is to get drunk at the bar. Jump on the sofa with a tambourine in the room. Sing loud with friends. I mean. What `s more than that.!

Went to Karaoke Box on saturday. Don't go there it is awful! We ordered pizzas in there, which were an hour late and they were frozen Chicago Town pizzas, we saw the boxes as we were leaving. The microphone didn't work and that held up our singing time! The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing half the time! Its totally overpriced, don't go there!

have been to karaoke in Japan loadsa times and this place really lets the Japanese style Karaoke down where service and prices are way better!!venue and rooms are very dark and hot inside. Air con was dripping. Booked for sunday arvo and the man was half an hour late. (Got a round of soft drinks free)We were waiting outside in the rain with another group that had booked. Its a shame it wasn't worth the wait. The rooms are small and dingy looking. Its a bit of a dive but we had fun as we were in good company. It was cheaper then others but I will not go back.I would not recommend it-better off getting a cheap karaoke set from argos and having mates round.Choice of songs was good, system was ok but timing seemed out on songs.NEEDS A GOOD LICK OF PAINT, NEW SEATING OR AT LEAST RECUSHIONING AND SOME ENERGY IN ITS STAFF ...go somewhere else please!!

absolutely the best fun you can have in London! me and my girls regularly book ourselves a room, which is really easy to do (if i can do it anyone can!), and get ourselves down there to tear it up on a friday night. the staff are lovely, and will happily bring drinks to your room all night, which definitely helps the singing to get going (at least in my ears it does!). a perfect way to either kick off or end a night, especially if you've got a big group together.

I called to book a slot for a date a month away and was told to book on-line. When I attempted to do this the system crashed and I had to re-submit the details. I then get a call, a few hours later, from the manager asking why I had not shown up for my booking!!! I was then told that my booking was process for the same day and not for my birthday a month away as requested!! The manager refused to change the booking and charged me the full price for a missed session!!! He appears to enjoy the sound of his own voice and skirts around issues without actually answering any questions – as per other reviews – VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE – DO NOT BOTHER.

Please don't go to Karaoke Box! It's really terrible! We actually wanted to go elsewhere but couldn't get any availability and this was the only place with rooms available at such short notice. Now I know why. The room was hot and horribly stuffy, the machine broke down twice and the cocktails at Karaoke Box didn't taste very strong either.

Last night I gatecrashed (with permision) a night at Karaoke Box with the ladies of a well known fashion magazine. All I can say is: fantastic bloody night. The staff were really friendly (even putting up with some serious dancing-on-the-sofa action and spilt wine on the floor). There were loads of fun songs, drinks were brought to the room really quickly and the rooms were air conditioned (essential at a Karaoke venue). I can assure others will have a fun time.

It's not super glitzy (but then if you are after Lost in Translation style karaoke, then expect to pay the 400 pounds an evening prices that users in Japan are used to!).

You'll have lots of fun here - it's reasonable on cost, and you'll leave with a smile as all our group did. Well done Karaoke Box!

I totally agree with the review below - Karaoke Box Dai Chan ia a real karaoke experience for real people. I've always found the staff really helpful, maybe the other comments below are more to do with the customer's attitude rather than the Karaokoe Box Dai Chan staff.

Karaoke Box Dai Chan is an excellent fun night out for a few mates or even just a couple of you. Hiring the rooms is very reasonable and whilst it is not as pleasing on the eye as rivals like Lucky Voice it has a certain charm in its down-at-heel appearance.

Certainly you'll feel much better getting a bit tipsy and raucous here than elsewhere. They have nice, friendly staff who don't rush you out in the middle of your final big number also help the evening along. Karaoke Box Dai Chan is really good fun.

Karaoke Box Dai Chan is London's best-kept secret, possibly because the storefront sign is in Japanese only. Although it's a fantastic, unique end to any evening, it's an evening in itself - just you and your friends in your own room, lots of drink and countless songs to choose from on the touch-screen system.

The staff are great (real people - not the servile lackies some reviewers here would evidently prefer) and are always there when you want them. I've been before, and I'll be going there again. What's not to love? Long live the Karaoke Box Dai Chan.

I just phoned to try to book a room on Friday at Karaoke Box Dai Chan. The guy on reception/bookings is rude and obnoxious and has zero customer service skills. I agree with the last comment that all he wanted was to take the booking/credit card details and not explain the pricing. I asked a simple question and couldn't get a straight answer. This gives a very poor impression Karaoke Box Dai Chan. I shan’t bother going.

Karaoke Box Dai Chan is a cheap and generally fun karaoke place, but the staff are the rudest people I have ever met in my life. The guy in reception at Karaoke Box Dai Chan is really patronising and just wants you to give your credit card details as quickly as possible.

When you get in they take their time and keep trying to get you to buy drinks, then remind you to leave soon even before your time has ended! Despite this we did enjoy ourselves.

Well, I loved the fun at Karaoke Box Dai Chan, and despite the rude staff I had the time of my life. However if hospitality is your game then you probably should be able to smile Karaoke Box Dai Chan!

Karaoke Box Dai Chan is a fantastic place for a night out. The only downer on any evening here is going to be your own guests. Go with the right people and it's great.

Incidently, the staff at Karaoke Box Dai Chan were friendly when we went, the drinks prices were standard for London, and equipment in very good condition.

The staff at Karaoke Box Dai Chan are particularly rude and unhelpful when making th booking. It does not compare to other karaoke venues which I have used in the past. They are unprofessional and leave a lot to be desired!

What a night! I went to Karaoke Box Dai Chan for my birthday with 10 of my best girlfriends. After getting lost and being half an hour late - one of the workers called up and kindly directed us (word of warning - the sign is written in Chinese!). All of the technology worked perfectly and we found all the classics to sing along to easy to find. It did get a little hot, we had the air conditioning up as high as it would go - but with eleven bodies in there we all got a tad rosy cheeked. All in all, a fantastic night - the staff were lovely and the atmosphere was fab.

If you love cheesey nights out then Karaoke Box Dai Chan is for you! There were 12 of us and we had a fab time. We found the staff to be really friendly and helpful and the system easy to use. I feel my rendition of Bonnie Tyler's 'Hero' is definitely worth a mention! Not sure Simon Cowell would agree. Well worth a visit.

We booked a room for five people at Karaoke Box Dai Chan and although it was a bit of a squeeze we had a great time. The machines are touch screen and very easy to use - no huge books to scour through trying to find bizarre codes. We had a great time. Word of warning though - watch the drinks bill. They forget to bring you drinks but still charge you for them on the bill at the end of the evening.

I went to the Karaoke Box for my birthday and even though it didn't spoil the fun we had it was such an annoying place. The staff were so rude coming into the room at all times telling us we need to order more drinks (because of the minimum drinks allowance). All this as your time ticks away. One of the microphones was dodgy and the speakers too. You have to really be able to ignore all this if you intend on having a good time.
