We thought we were short changed and told the manager. He told us he had checked the 'video' and he could see that we were given the correct change. I wasn't convinced a video would be able to tell the difference between a £10 and a £20 so I asked him to take our details so that when they cashed up they could check and let us know. The managers response was to have us thrown out. An interesting attitude to customer service to say the least! Avoid.
Definitely one of the worst gay establishments in London - the bar tenders are very slow and you usually have to wait for ages to get their attention, and then the drink you get are watered down, very expensive cover-charge to get into the club downstairs. And then it's most just full of old men one you are there.
Went to the comedy night here last Friday and it was such a blast! I was a little disappointed I couldn't get the time off work to go to Edinburgh this year but Soho Comedy Club had Iszi Lawrence as a compere (awesome lady in her own right) Luke Toulson and Sol Bernstien - you can't even get that line-up on TV and it was live.
Really friendly atmosphere which was cool since I've never been to a gay bar before and was a little worried about what people would think :0 Is probably the best value thing you can do in the area as it was only a tenner. Nice one, def going back.
This bar is great - 3 floors - champagne bar, funky bright middle floor and dance area downstairs - I love the fresh flowers and flat screen tvs - erotic rather than porn - equally welcoming to women which isnt always the case in soho - great sound system playing a range of music - have been in a few times in the day when quiet and a pleasant place to escape to - Ruby Tuesdays on Tuesday night for girls is genius x
Recently spent a Friday night at Ku Bar. Nice fun bar/club.
My only issue was the the downstairs bar. What the bar staff have in attitude and hours spent at the gym, they unfortunately lack in bar skills.
Unless you are 18 year old twink or a regular, expect to wait 15-20 min to get served on a busy night.
I'd recommend to drink elsewhere first and then go the bar for the music/atmosphere :)
I have been a regular of Ku Bar since it opened on Charring Cross road 12/13 years ago. In my opinion it is the best gay bar in London, the comments about rude bar staff are totally unjustified. I am 45 and never have any problems with service unlike other bars in London. I have always found all of the staff, bar staff and glass collectors to be very efficient with the majority also being very pleasing to the eye.

have to agree rude staff and brought a friend with whom was 35 same sort of atmosphere kiddi corner bar.
I had a club-hopping session with some friends of mine and Ku was the first place that was went to. I have to say, after being to a few clubs, Ku was the best night ever! I never had so much fun. The people who went to the bar are so nice and even the bouncer was sweet. Like the review, drinks are not expensive. Pitchers are pretty big as well so the 11quid was well worth it. I would recommend Ku to the young, gay community and also to the girls like me who just want a night out drinking delicious cocktails and meeting really nice people without having to bat off any pervy male attention.
