A night out to Lost in south London will not disappoint!
Quality resident dj's and friendy staff that know their stuff.
If the packed dance floor gets too much they have a nice little garden that also has a bar.
I recently ate there in the upstairs restaurant that overlooks the main bar. Guess modern british would best describe it, very good!!
Well worth a visit A+++
Word of warning though, arrive early as the queue on a Sat' often starts forming as early as 8!
I and a party of friends visited Lost Society on Friday, we all had a lovely meal which was cooked to perfection and the waiter was very friendly and we were treated to some great cocktails, we did have a wait a while to get served but when it comes
as good as this it is well worth the wait. very good.
This venue could be pretty cool (as we had heard prior to our visit) but is actually quite dreadful. We were a group of five very lovely ladies who wanted a girls night out somewhere with a cocktail list to die for and we had heard Lost Society was just the place. We tried to email The Lost Society in advance to reserve an area however no response was ever received (maybe it got lost?). We presumed that we would be fine if we arrived at 8.15pm but that’s where the trouble began as we encountered by a queue. The queue wasn’t too long and being British and we don’t mind a well-managed effective queue – however this was anything but. We queued for an hour with very minimal movement whilst a large number of random people seemed to be able to waft in with a bit of a wink and a kiss (in the most fake of all manners) for the door staff. Some drunken girls nearly started a fight by trying to blag their way into the queue, when my friend highlighted this to a bouncer he basically just ignored it (!). We reached the front of the queue by 9pm rather disillusioned but determined to sit it out after so much time invested. Then movement ground to a halt and we were informed of a one in one out policy (meanwhile large numbers of people ‘popped’ out with a stamp on their hand many not even returning). A while later 8 people left and we were then told that they now needed to wait for another two to leave so they could let in 2 people from the normal queue and two from the guest list queue at a time. 15 minutes later 6 people from the guest list queue were allowed to enter whilst we remained in the cold contrary to the promise. Another 15 minutes and we finally were granted entry at nearly 10pm!! To add insult to injury we were charged a £5 entry fee although we had noted many other people had not been required to pay this (probably you only have to pay after 10pm?). Once inside there seemed plenty of room for at least another 50 people (pretty much the whole queue). The décor of the
I returned to Lost Society for my second visit on Saturday night for some birthday drinks and meal.
The drinks were again fantastic as was the food. All well done and well priced. There were more people there than they had allocated a table for but the staff accommodated us the best they could, as they did with the veggies there (perhaps a few more veggie options would be good if there is to be no a la carte menu).
Overall it was a great night and that was mainly due to all the staff efforts.
What a cool, surreal place this Lost Society is. I had one of the best whiskey sours I have tasted followed oddly by a troupe of Samba dancing, Brazillian girls. It changed from a dull drizzly day to like being at the Rio festival. Granted my experience was one drink, totaling a 30 minute stay, but if it's anything like that again its my new favourite bar.
A truly awful night. The Lost Society bar staff just need to chill out and stop trying so hard to be cool. The music was very mediocre and it just lacked, full stop. Really did not enjoy the atmosphere there. The one good thing was the decor. would not go again, Lost Society is true to its name.
Lost Society is my favourite drinking hole in Clapham Good drink selection, friendly staff and great eye candy, especially on a Sat night. Worth a visit if you have not been before. A+
I'd heard great things about Lost Society and was really looking forward to our visit. The decor and atmosphere didn't disappoint, however the rest of our experience was dreadful.
First we were kept waiting for nearly 20 minutes to be seated at our table. We were sat downstairs and it was so noisy we could barely hear each other over the music. Our waitress obviously couldn't hear us either with several mistakes and missing items on our order which we had to ask for several times.
She even poured red wine into a glass which already had white wine in it, and then brought a glass of Merlot to replace the Columbard my friend asked for!
The food itself was unremarkable, although it was good value for money. I will go back to visit the Lost Society bar, but steer clear of the restaurant!
