Reading these reviews made me laugh! I have to start off by saying if you are looking for a EXCLUSIVE venue with AMAZING music, great atmosphere, friendly staff then i would recommend LUXX. I attended quite alot to their nights as they have some great DJs play there, Regarding door staff, i have to stress LUXX is a EXCLUSIVE Mayfair club, if you are not dressed accordingly or being rude to staff members outside of course you will not be allowed in. The capacity is what 200? They have to be strict on who they let in. Other wise it will lose the idea of being a EXCLUSIVE club. I'm sure my girlfriends who i go with would agree that the people writing these bitchy reviews are obviously the ones that get left out in the cold for wearing trackies and not the ones inside!! Once you are inside its nothing but an gorgeous crowd, great music , friendly staff, What more could you ask for ??

Please do listen to the previous comments and mine on how awful this club is, I honestly would not want anyone to waste their night going here. It deserves no stars. The door people are the rudest, most pretentious and arrogant people I have come across. Guestlist is worthless here, the guy has no names on his clipboard. Being a nobody he purely lets the power go to his head on who can and cant come in. They will make up any excuse to deny entry, to ensure that they don't get into trouble for turning you away on a purely discriminatory reason. They make you queue for ages, for no reason other than to make the club look popular on the street. It is definitely not busy inside. Don't be fooled into thinking that this place is exclusive because of the arrogance, it couldn't be further from exclusive. It is filled with people that have connections or enjoy flashing their cash on seriously overpriced drinks. There are plenty of places that you can have a great night, this is certainly not one.

1-star is too much for this place. What a pretentious, over-sensitive, discriminatory & genuinely rude place. The bouncers & door-girl need to learn some people management skills. NOT WORTH QUEUING FOR. The door staff don't even know how to manage a queue! Some stand here. No now you stand here. You, stand there. Now you move to here. Ridiculous!!! DO NOT GO HERE EVER! Unless you're *that* type of person.....!!

star rating of this place is 0. the staff are very rude, serious attitude problems. had to wait an hour in the queue. was cold. the staff would not inform of us of whats going on. only when we got to the front I was told i couldnt wear FLAT SHOES. think its discrimination that your NOT ALLOWED to go in there if your wearing FLAT SHOES!!!! SERIOUSLY. what a lame excuse. you can get in if you wear heels. what if you have problems with your feet which meant you couldnt wear heels. this place is a disgrace. does not make sense that guys can get in as they wear flats!!! hmmm. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE!.

one star is way too much for this club!! as a regular clubber in Mayfair: Luxx is tiny and not worth even a 5 minute wait in the queue.

The stuck up door staff are extremely rude and aggressive. Especially the fake blond foreign girl. Do not go!!

I would recommend Jalouse or Cuckoo for a fab night out.

one of the worst clubs I have ever been to. I have visited many high end London clubs, getting a table with a group of friends and I can honestly say that this place is awful. I feel bad saying this as the owner is a close friend of my sister, however, the atmosphere is tense and aggressive, the music system poor and it is always crushed. The staff were very rude and shoving us around as we were going to our table and the bar staff spend most of their time chatting people up, other friends who have been in for a drink have complained about how long they have had to wait to be served and how rude the bar staff have been when there has not even been a que.
I would say overall avoid this place if you are looking for a good night out!

I would definitely recommend Luxx.

Great music from resident dj's. They get the odd superstar dj in also such as Afrojack, DeadMau5 and others..

People complaining about queues are stupid. It is like complaining that a supermarket is rubbish because there is a line of people in front of you at the check out. It doesn't make sense.

Cool crowd. A bit small, but again this is not a negative as it is the style of the club - Smaller & intimate. The smoking terrace outside is a great place to meet people and chat.

Drinks are reasonably priced for Mayfair. If you were expecting £2 a drink in the first place then you are in the wrong area of London to start off with, but at the same time they are not a rip off like some Mayfair clubs that extort you.

There are really no complaints here. Staff are also very nice! Not something you get everywhere!

I will give it 4.5 out of 5!

Luxx is such a great club. I went to London for a week and I have been in Luxx for three times. I couldn't get enough of it met a lot of people there. Everyones friendly. Music was insanely great ! Everyone was like family. It was so much fun. What I mostly liked about it is the international crowed. The rich Arabs are very friendly, the Italians are a lot of fun, I met Russians that I am now doing business with. There are a lot of beautiful women at Luxx. Luxx is the place to be !

Pros:
Nice venue
Easy to get in if you know the right people

Cons:
Very picky staff (girls, wear black coats and nothing that screams primark or river island, the door staff are judgemental)
Long queues
Lots of random steps everywhere
Long queues for the toilets
Very small room so always crowded and therefore lots of pushing

I dont even want to give this place 1 star... Absolutely terribly, don't waste your time. Queued for 2hours, eventually we got to the front and were told we had only been there for 25 minutes and that the club was full, yet people were still being taken in! Extremely rude door staff, pointless nightout.... Beware the rumours are true, Luxx does in fact absolutely suck!!

Disgusting. Absolutely terrible. I highly advise you all not to go, not to waste your time. These people are in basics complete proletarians trying to get revenge on the bourgeoisie, no class nothing. They like to make things more complicated. They had said free entry for ladies before 11, so we got there at 10:45, the club only opened at 11:10, so despite our early arrival and their late opening times, they still demanded we all pay £20 entry. The manager - a bold, gay, italian guy - extremely arrogant. I just don't understand! If you want a club in Mayfair, go to one just as exclusive but not as pretentious as Luxx, i.e. Vendome, Merah or Jalouse. These people are disorganised, arrogant and moody.

Too be fair this review is far too harsh! Luxx is my favourite club and such a great night out! Yes it is free. Sometimes but you have to face facts. This is A top london club and they can choose whether they make you pay or not. £20 is very reasonable for a club like this where it is normally members only. Rb / hip hop remixes, if you are out of town then you need to know someone in there other wise it will be difficult to get in! Worth the trouble though,

If you like RnB (I don't, except I'm happy to have Capital FM on in the background from time to time) then you won't like it here; I suggest you get your booty down to Chinawhite or Merah (with the rest of the Russians; never again!) or downstairs at No 5 if you like a more mixed bag. I think the music is the best thing about the place and I have been 3 times. Not exactly cutting edge mind, but mainstream funky house that gets the crowd going. I have seen some reviews about rich Arabs groping young girls (paid for or otherwise). Last time I went it was, LOL, a group of overweight, middle aged Israeli men who were doing the groping. I suppose that's just what you get in this kind of place: a combination of reasonably good looking people, the odd munter, rich (or on expenses more likely) older blokes, a few couples, groups, those girls again. Always best when you are not paying, right girls? It's really tiny. I do like a bit of space when I'm out with the glamorous Mrs M, so this club gets downgraded for the sheer lack of anywhere to stand. If you are, you get moved around the club as if dragged in some current unless you cling somewhere or hang by the bar. No dance floor to speak of; people just dancing between tables etc. As I usually have to pay for my own tables with relatively few opportunities to ponce off anyone else, I don't do that very often, so I imagine the whole experience would be improved by having a seat with a bottle of Belvedere within easy reach. Overall, an average-bordering-good experience, mainly due to the music rather than anything to do with the club. Staff seemed friendly. Try it, you might like it. Can't promise you will see me though.

I don't mind queuing if the time I have to spend for getting in is worth it! It wasn't! As soon got inside, couldn't move, club was packed with rather average looking crowd and arabic guys looking for a trobule. However, staff well selected, very polite and quick. Music was quite wicked till some drunk guy name Luca, have started to play with microphone, and shout for 2h ''i love you Kamila'' etc. Than the microphone went off & feed-back. I couldn't stand the noice and left at 2am. Shame, shame, shame. Ps Common pr- comment your one star rate!

Luxx has started something that no boutique club had ever believed in London, TOP DJs for a small crowd.. Also, it had done what they do in Milan, the management speaks on the mic at times to involve the crowd. Luxx is not a club, where you go, pay a ticket and go in.. It's a HOUSE PARTY, that sums it up, it's pure house and people feel at home.. they are family. It's the best place in london and I go there all the time.. If you don't belong, if you are not up to standard.. back to tiger tiger

Hey, Luxx Sucks! lol... its crowded packed both floors and you literally cant move..... and you cant get a drink from the bar so youre screwed if you dont have a table. the managers or owners walk up into the queue and pull out thier friends even if they are behind you! there is no organisation or respect on the door. the dj line up has been good but whats the point if its so packed that you have fat creepy arabs leering at you and pressing up against you when you are tryin to dance! all in all, if they improve some things it would be great, but right now they are trying too hard to impress and forgetting about the little things that count like manners and respect x

Luxx rocks it doesnt suck. The staff and the owners are super-friendly but it only holds 150 so they can't let everyone in. If you are a cool person then you will get in eventually. I go to Luxx constantly. I've known most of the staff for years and they are a class act. The music is always awsome and the place does get packed between 12.30 and 2am but from 2 onwards the club is at it's absolute best. There is very little touching up of women compared with other clubs. The club is about tables. All good clubs are about tables. People are always friendly and just like getting in, if you are a cool person you will be invited onto a table before you know it. Luxx is fast becoming my second home and it's given me some of the best nights out I've had in London for years.

Hamish51...I think you might work in a competitor club or your are just jealous and You just want to write something bad about Luxx.

I go to Luxx almost every night since they opened. Never and I say never the club is empty. Always full. Any night you go. People having dinner upstairs then going downstairs around 11.30pm.

Absolutely not overpriced. Cheaper than clubs like Cuckoo or Maddox or Jalouse where I go all the time also.

Best music in town. When i went there Calvin Harris was playing and the week after Pete Tong.

Everyone I know love Luxx and I so agree with them it is the best club Mayfair has since long long time.

And the smell...please...

I became friend of the people working there and I consider ridiculous when someone write a review which is completely the opposite of what the club is.

I invite everyone to have a look by yourself and then let's see who is right

Went to Luxx Two weeks ago, on a saturdaynight! found it very pretentious and also had me and my three girlfriends waiting for 30mins in the cold, at 12 when it wasn't even busy yet. Thank god we had no guys with us as, then it would have been hell getting in! It =seems unless u no the manager of marketing, or of the events or your related to the owner! u can walk straight up to the door hassle free! this is how i try to work now as i hate hanging around, as its the biggest off put to the club, i do not advise this club. however music wasn't so bad and chatted up enough guys to get free drinks.

Like queuing and standing like a puppy with 30 others in front of a door on a Saturday night waiting to get in? Yeah, than this is yours!
We waited an hour in the queue, no move at all, despite having pre-arranged guest list entry with the event promoter. They did let family and friends (VIP?), but there was no mix of guest list and those. Well, at least we could see who is entering the club …the mix of disrespect to the people in the queue and the rather average looking crowd who went in, left us unimpressed and made it clear that it’s not worth hanging out there and we crossed over the road ...

There is something strange about Luxx. I love the place. I have been there already several times since it opened.
I think the music is simply amazing, lots of girls and good looking people. I agree with you however that it is still not busy around 00.30. It seems like everyone is upstairs or they just come late.

Last Friday I went there at 11.30pm. Empty. I came back at 1am. I couldn't move. I guess I will keep going a bit late.

Well done anyway. You've been open just 2 months and I just hear great comments about Luxx. I will keep coming back and I will advice all my friends to do the same

Went there with 1 other guy and couldn't get in.

Like the manager, like the club, and I even think the door girl is pretty cool. But... If your club is empty at 1230 on a Friday night and there is no one queing, I think it's a little strange not to let in 2 guys.

I completely understand wanting a mixed crowd, but when the club across the street is packed with people trying to get in, I (personaly) would be a little more lenient. Would try getting again if the club becomes more popular.

Unfortunately this is the nature of the business. People who can't get in rate 1 star. People who can enjoy the fun rate 5 stars. I personally don't have problem to get in anywhere. I went to Luxx already 5-6 times and I always had great time.
Don't take it personally darling. This is how a tough door should be.

I do agree with you however that the girl at the door sometimes is too rude. She just could turn people away with a nicer attitude.

Vile vile door staff.

The door girl has been dragged up with no manners, grace or even a hint of social skills.

Despite a pre-arranged guest list - all confirmed by email - we arrived at the time suggested and politely waited outside. A quick chat with the head bouncer confirmed that the club wasn't full, however when we informed the door girl of our names and told her who'd confirmed our guestlist she just began repeating that the club was full and we couldn't go in. It was still early-ish, we were dressed more than appropriately (we all work in media and/ or fashion) so we questioned her response. She continued to repeat herself saying the club was full even though we knew it wasn't. The whole experience was confusing, disappointing and most of all the attitude was disgusting.

Don't waste your time.

I agree, all staff should be polite at all times, however, let me say that many groups have people who are not considered appropriate. The ones who don't get in are upset about it, but the DOOR BITCH as many people call her.. is the only one who ensures that the crowd inside is right and if the people want to come back, it is mainly due to her work. I used to do PR in clubs in Milan and Sardinia, the best places i have seen and the best parties, sometimes happened in venues that were nothing more than garages.. but it's the music and the crowd that make them memorable. I have been partying with top models, cinema stars, tycoons etc.. and all they care about is the crowd. It is very hard to do that job, and yes sometimes someones gets hurt. If you go to top places, you have to look top, you have to make sure that the group is also looking top, and cool... Cool is important.. you can be formally elegant and still won't be appropriate.. there is no rule.. COOL is a feel. This is how the industry works, not everyone has to agree, but if you want to be part of cool stuff you have to understand how things roll. I wish you a better experience next time.

I feel 1 star is generous for the venue.

Having pre-arranged guest list entry with the venue's events manager we were rudely turned away at the door by an arrogant memeber of staff who seemed incapable of stringing a comprehensible sentence together.

However judging by the crowd of scantily clad pubescent teenagers at the door it is obvious that this is yet another pretentious West End club aimed at trust fund kids who'd happily dance to a 'Now Party Hits' CD as long as they've just downed a £12 Jager Bomb.

Go to Luxx: If you want to spend your wage on over priced drinks surrounded by children who's allowance is more than you'll earn in a year.

Don't go to Luxx: If you want to hear good music, get value for money and have fun with people of legal age.

I understand the frustration. I am however puzzled by one thing: if you didn't get in, how can you criticize the music? I have been to Luxx about 30 times and the music is consistently good. It is the only place in London which stays away from Chart tunes, playing house and minimal electro. I accept people criticizing what they have experienced, but it's a nonsense to criticize the DJ when you did not get in. Really, this is utterly inappropriate.

I've took a table last night. When I saw that "bitch" who used to do the door at Maddox Club i wasn't that happy, but one young and polite owner welcome me at the door and he made me feel like at home. The club is nice, cosy, good lighting system and the music and the people were lovely.
But what surprised me was the service. Everyone smiling, taking care of me all the time and they even cut my cover charge on the bill when they realized we were only girls. I really don't which other clubs in Mayfair would have done that.
