Went for a friends birthday and although not my usual sort of club it was actually quite good. Music was good, lively crowd out to party on a Sat night, generally fun atmosphere. But the drinks are so expensive its not worth drinking there and it took a while to get in, otherwise a fun night out.
Went there on a Wednesday night and was very pleased with the whole atmosphere of the club. The decor was outstanding and the stuff were amazing despite one of my friends drinking himself sick having to be ushered out. The drinks were a bit pricy but I guess that keeps all the (common) at bay, leaving a great night. I have to say that the music was superb with a mixture of all the big club hits from a very underated DJ (Mr P I think) who played all my requested tunes and gave me a free CD:)
Will definately be going back again in the near future!!!
Mamilanji has an exciting atmosphere- girls who dance on stage, fun dance music, and lots of attractive people. We didn't mind waiting in line to get in, but I must add that they wanted to charge each person in our 6 person party 20 pounds to get in the door... even though we were on the list. We decided that was ridiculous and were about to leave when he then gave us another offer- 50 pounds total for all of us.
We had a great time once we were inside, but what happened before we even got in the door was enough to make us never want to bother coming back.
Nice place, with a nice atmosphere but an organisational disaster. Even though we were on a guest list for a birthday booking we had to stand and queue for no reason while watching random people name-drop and walk straight in.
The doormen, hostesses and till staff didn't have a clue what each other were doing, and having them all arguing with each other over how much we were being charged for entry/how many of us there were/how many stamps we needed on our hands made them look silly.
Barman had a bad attitude which considering the prices of the drinks was not a good thing. For that much money I expect service with a pearly white smile!
Later in the night things improved though, and downstairs in the main dance floor we all had a good night.
It all has lovely decor and is a very nice bar/club, but the staff could make life easier for themselves, and their customers by all working together.
The worst night out in a long time.
Never go to Mamilanji on a Monday. I've actually had amazing nights there before but the bouncers were just so easily swayed. Mamilanji was playing pussy cat dolls etc., chart hits, the place was surrounded with 15 year olds dancing and relishing their pounding hormones. So unclassy. Dear dear dear- can anyone say capital vip?
Mamilanji is absolutely stunning. Even down to the toilets, which are are just gorgeous! But drinks are very expensive. Luckily everything was on tab when I went to Mamilanji.
As expected of a club on Kings Road, Mamilanji is very stylish and the decor is so seductive. The staff were very polite and friendly, though when I received the bill I could understand why. Mamilanji isn't all that cheap!
Mamilanji is a bit swanky. I liked it very much but my boyfriend said it was really pretentious and snobby, without any class. I just enjoyed the music and the lovely cocktails. I will definitely go back to Mamilanji but probably with my girlfriends to have a girly night out.
