OCEANA IS SUCH AN EXPENSIVE CLUB IT LOOKS IT ITS HUFE AND ITS SO DISGRACEFUL THAT THE MAIN BALL ROOMS CARPET IS SO DIRTY, ITS BEYOND DIRTY. ITS SO STICKY AND STINKY ITS DISGUSTING.CLEAN IT!!!!!!
I would actually give this club no rating if possible. Travelled from Watford paying a fair amount for a cab for a private party in a booth in this club to find they refuse entry to two of my friends saying that they had just squared up to two boys right outside the club. Which was the biggest lie as nothing if the sort had happened. Clearly was on the power tripped attitude that the majority of the bouncers at this club has. The managers were just as rude and actually spoke down to all of us even though we were being pleasant to them explaining that we were here for a private party which had been organised and all had passports and driving licenses with all our details on it incase of any trouble which i could guarantee they would of been none. I have actually experienced this hassle from the bouncers at this club on another occasion, where the bouncers told to my friends that it was collar night so be prepared for their pathetic excuses when you get to the door. I actually have a great experience clubbing in Kingston but in Essence and was only near this club for someone's birthday. I recommend Oceana in Watford though, high trained professional security with a scanning system which the bouncers in Kingston would maybe struggle to do as it would mean they would have to stop flexing their muscles for a second. Too sum up the place...............Rude, power tripped bouncers who think that their black coat and yellow arm band makes them look hard. However, if your a girl which i am, get in no problem with a few perverted words from the bouncers!
I went to Oceana with a few friends for my 20th and all I can say is urgh! The staff are so bloody rude, I was shocked that they even landed themselves a job. It's really hard to get in if you're not in a mixed group (i don't see how a group of girls poses a threat to be frank), and once you do get in after about an hour and a half of queing, you get treated like dirt. My friend rested her head on the table because she was tired (bare in mind she had had one drink that night) and the bouncer asked her to leave because she was drunk! The upside is that the club is really big. The music is okay, commercial r&b stuff, and the good thing is the dance floor is massive and there are a few rooms if you dont feel like hanging around in one. Drinks are priced well if you go on a student night.
Music's good but the bouncers jus suck! Sack those bastards..
I went there with my friend on Friday night, (after a previous attempt a month before where I was told I was "too drunk", when I wasn't-it was the fact I was with a coloured male!!) Anyway all was OK, apart from the wait for a drink as the bar staff seem to just ignore you, then you get a warm bottle of cider-horrible! They have taps but they don't serve anything from them either!!
OK, some perv decided to pinch my friends bum, then mine, she tells him off and he proceeds to grab hers again but with more force, so she slaps him. He then punches her back-sending her to the floor and no one was doing anything so I go over to help her and get kicked full force on the leg (which could possibly have been her head if I hadn't have intervened) I now have a swollen ankle and bruise up half my shin. The man ran away from the cheese room. We informed the bouncers and they could give a crap and said to my friend the police are outside go talk to them if you want and when she asked if she would be able to come back in they said "don't know". They did nothing to offer to help and we have since gone to the police.
It was the first and the last time I would ever go back to that dive, just look at the type of people they let in and he didn't hesitate in hitting a woman. may I add he didn't appear to have any friends with him-very strange, I just hope he hasn't attacked anyone else.
Club has:
Shit Music.
(Cheese Room is not bad but all the other rooms play the same ol'shit week in week out with the same ol' shit DJs)
Shit Doorstaff
(Rude, power hungry and will refuse entry to anyone they fancy)
Shit Management
(Should do something about their doorstaff as would make the vibe alot better...maybe they could try and diversify their staff a little bit i.e a couple that arn't black)
Shit Drinks
(You can drink this stuff all night without getting drunk, So although it maybe cheap on a student night £1.90 its really not worth it)
Shit People
(If the bouncers don't start a fight with you the rough crowd they let in will)
Avoid this place like the plague, and to think I use love this place not so long ago...where did it all go wrong oceana?
If you are looking for somewhere to party in kingston try McLusky's, Hippodrone & Baccus where you will find much better treatment and much better vibe.
sincerely yours,
a very unstaisfied customer
I think that Oceana has had its day! Back in the day it was the best club in kingston but no more. They got rid of the best djs last year and have kept the rubbish ones, especialy the one one in the ballroom on a wednesday little man! He plays the same music and says the same things week after week git rid of him we have had enough! The doormen are still rude and make u feel like a criminal each week. I say get new djs new Managment and new door staff and U might put the O back into Oceana but this will never happen so try mccluskys instead much better than same old anas'
Queue to get in was VERY long, even at only 9pm and on entrance the club smells like a combination of homeless people, urine, vomit and cheese. Drinks were cheap, but I couldn't taste the vodka in my vodka and lemonade. The guys in there aren't that great, and I saw my fair share of arse-crack from the "ladies". Also, there are a lot of weirdos in there, the kind of people you wouldn't want to meet down an alley. However, the dance floors (ballroom for club music, disco room for the old stuff) were a LOT of fun, and it's easy enough to avoid unwanted attention because there are so many people, you can simply hide in the crowds. My friends and I had a really fun time, and even though the club itself is a bit of a hole, the atmosphere was generally positive.
