oh my god i love oceana!! i can spend literally hours boogying in the cheese room, then make my way up to the main room to finish the nite off with a bang! me and my girls go almost every wednesday, always lose eachother straight away and then re-unite about 2 hours later with a big smile on our faces having spent the time dancing to hanson with people we barely know! cant beat it! anyone up for a laugh and a nite of dancing and general carnage, get yourself to oceana, theres plenty of rooms for anyones taste!

Oceana is ok for a laugh.
The music in the ball room changes so much throughout the night its hard to tell whats coming next. From cheese to pop to rnb to dnb to pure crap!
The Cheese room has just been revamped and has now got special vip sections for the wannabe wags of K Town to be pretentious in their own little private bubble- shame they knocked out a bar to put them there tho!
Departure lounge is full of wannabes and rude boys busting in trainers and frowns while the ski lodge.... well that is a bit random really!
Take note- if you want your coat back- go to the cloakroom at least half an hour before the club closes or you will be in a queue that snakes around the whole of the ground floor!!!
Loving the new smoking terrace tho- even just to cool down!

I was part of the party of 25 from the review below and have always been a fan of Oceana and after not having been for a while I was really looking forward to Saturday night however the club stunk, was filthy, staff very rude, the music wasnt up to scratch and fights going on every half hour!! The ordeal at the end of the night was shocking and outrageous! The bouncers were useless and pure bullies. There was NO manager to be seen, a letter of complaint is on it's way and I for one will not be returning. TRULEY DISGUSTING.

25 of us spent Saturday night here for my birthday. There were 3 fights inside the club. However my night was ruined as we were leaving the club. i was started on by a girl who was obviously looking for a fight, i was in the wrong place at the wrong time. My boyfriend was trying to restrain her when he was jumped on by 8 bouncers. They stamped and jumped on him leaving him barely able to breathe. It is now 2 days later and he can barely walk and is now bruised all over. They stole his money from his wallet, his fags and ripped his shirt. The girl managed to get to me in the meantime, pull my hair out and i now have bruises. The bouncers didnt touch her. The actions of the bouncers were shocking. The clientele of the club has gone downhill, it is full of rough people looking for fights and the bouncers love it. My group of 25 all witnessed this behaviour and will not be returning. My birthday was ruined.
If you're looking for a good night with no trouble this is not the place!

Oceana...can't see how this club can have a bad review...Thursday being the best night there...in my opinion however Wednesday (student night) is the most popular night.
Thursdays consists of high profile PA's, in the past year I have seen, Ginuwine, Mario, Lloyd Banks, Bobby V, Nathan, Pretty Ricky, Sisqo and 112! For no more than £10 each times.
The main room being the place to be, but the different variety of rooms forever keeps you interested from the Japanese techno room to the quiet ski lounge, the bouncers are friendly to regulars also...not a club to be over looked, mostly good for students tho!!!!

Out of this world! pretty much sums up Ocena! I went for a mates birthday... drove absolutely miles to get there and thought no place could be worth this journey... however the club was brilliant! so many rooms so little time! the disco room with the funky mirrors and lighted dancefloor was so much fun and the huge RnB ballroom was fantastic! got a bit lost a few times... but it adds to the fun! Even the amount of chavs in there didn't put me off as the music was so good! Definitely go back again!

Oceana is a great club. We were all a little worse for wear (from the night before!) the night we went but still had a great time. The separate rooms meant that we never got bored with the music. From the Japanese karaoke to the funky ballroom - everyone was happy and boogied the night away. Really looking forward to going again and making the most of it.

Inside Oceana is great. The diversity of rooms means you can go with almost any crowd of people. The bar staff are usually very friendly and the DJs are wicked. They usually do their best to play any song you request.

But, I have to agree that some of the bouncers let the whole experience down slightly. Monday nights the bouncers are wicked - very friendly and polite, but Wednesdays they are rude and arrogant. Oceana, you would get a five but I feel your bouncers need a little lesson in friendliness!

I never thought I would see the day when I would be writing a positive review for Oceana, but here it is! I was dragged there kicking and screaming on Saturday night, and I prepared myself for the worst. About half way through the night I was in the main room dancing halfheartedly to some RnB noise I had never heard of when I realised I had lost my mobile.

Within half an hour I had not one, not two, but three bouncers helping me to look for the phone. These bouncers also enlisted several members of bar staff to assist with the search. Luckily I found it (a friend of a friend noticed I had left it on the table and picked it up for me!) and the night ended happily.

I would now have to say that negative reviews of the Oceana bouncers here, in my case, proved to be completely unfounded. They couldn't have been nicer!

Oceana is a catherdral to free sprited youngsters of South West London, a place of refruge where we can enjoy scantily clad women and drink to hearts content or our wallets are empty! Many have slaged off k-towns finest night spot because of over aggressive bouncers and rowdy groups of youngsters looking for rucks! It's the 21st century, most people under the age of 30 live for the weekends to get away from thier dead end jobs and Oceana offers the best facilities.

So ask yourself is Oceana really that bad! It takes these reckless youths off the streets and keeps them in a confined area. The toilet staff are good fun, and yes, the bouncers may be of a nasty persuasion. All I ask is that you try it and make the decision, Do I like or dislike Oceana, yourself.

Oceana is by far my favourite club, and I've been to a fair few. I've never had any problems with the bouncers and I've only ever seen one proper fight which the bouncers sorted out immediately. The drinks are priced fairly, especially on student nights and the choice of five rooms means that there is something for everyone in my relatively diverse mix of friends.

My only negative is that the cheese room has smelt like cheesy vomit for the last three years. I don't know if this is a ploy to make you get so wasted that you can't smell it?! Regardless, I've had loads of amazing nights at Oceana and I know I'll have many more!

I used to like Oceana, but last night my friend and I both had our bags stolen. The door staff were patronising and obstructive and did little to help the situation. I was without mobile phone, money or credit cards and they then chucked out on the street when they got fed up with me. I was left on the road without a coat, money, phone or house keys. It was pretty distressing for a girl on her own.

I will never go there again based on the way the Oceana staff treated me. Got home safe with no thanks to them. I can't believe the door staff treat their customers in that way.

Oceana is brill! In answer to someones question, Wednesday is absoltuely brilliant if you are young. I'm a student and I think that Oceana has got great music, great people who aren't on a fight hype, as I like to call it! The drinks are very reasonable and a good tip is to go into the Tun pub which is right opposite Oceana as the cocktails are nice but way too expensive.

Big groups of guys will definitely not get in, period. So you need to go with an equal amout of girls and enter as couples pretending you don't know the others you are with! Wednesdays are student night but each student can bring one or maybe two non students as guests.

Oceana is a good night nightclub venue wise. But the door men are so rude and completely let the club down. I have been to Oceana a few times and every time they have been so rude and agressive towards the men in my group of friends. I don't know who they think they are talking to people like that! Jobsworths come to mind!

If any of you read these peoples reviews and fail to go to Oceana just because they say the bouncers were rude, then you are stupid! Who cares what the bouncers are like? As long as you get into the club, it doesn't matter, unless you plan to hover around the bouncers all night.

I went to Oceana on a Thursday night and I loved it. The venue is huge, the biggest I've seen in London so far and the music and drink prices were great!

I have memories of Oceana. You have the choice of music on the different floors and can dress half casual and you can choose your pick of guys to dance with. Oceana feels heavenly when you are tipsy. Even after going to all those classy clubs in London, I loved oceana! Why's it's average rating so low?

Oceana has both good and bad points, but the good far outweighs the bad. I go fairly regularly and don't experience problems with the bouncers, I'm always greeted with a smile. The toilet attendants are all classics, each with their own tune. I never feel any pressure to tip, although I normally do.

Whatever your musical taste, there'll be tracks to suit you. If you don't fancy dancing, then you can normally get a seat in one of the bars. I've only been hassled once or twice and it was swiftly dealt with by the door staff. I'd recommend Ocean to anyone who's up for a good night out.

Oceana is an amazing night out. The music variety there is fantastic and there is plently of room to dance. Oceana is cheap to get in which is helpful and unusual in London. I loved it and had the best night out ever. It has everything for everyone, from quiet rooms to loud RnB music to shake your ass in! You definitely should go.

Oceana has been open for over 3 and a half years now, yet still remains busy. People come from miles around to go to Oceana. Why? Because they have heard that it's a great night out and worth the money.

If you have a bad review about any club, it is only acceptable if you can justify your bad review, otherwise you're not helping the other people that are thinking of visiting for the first time. You may not have liked the music, but everyone has different music tastes. I have been to Oceana recently and they have finally got rid of the cheese smell in Disco. About time is all I can say!
The atmosphere is just as brilliant as it was 3 and a half years ago, so give it a try!

Before going to Oceana, I had the same misconceptions of the place as everyone else - chavvy, booze addled teens spewing sick everywhere, overly done up girls getting in your face to cause trouble etc, etc.

However, even after my very first venture, I knew this was a safe, fun and cheap club just right for students. If you want to pose and be with other posers, then don't come here (go into London and pay an average of £8.50 for a drink if that's your thing).
Oceana is big, and it's always packed with queues stretching right down the road. It's one of those clubs that everyone knows is good but for some reason find hard to admit. Yet they keep on coming.

Don't believe the reviews about fights and rude people. Oceana is one of the most friendly clubs I have been to, everyone knows everyone else is out there to have a good time and so they're not dumb enough to cause trouble. Even the struggle to get in from the massive queue is always amicable.
If you really want a chavvy club try the Works nearby - so near but a world apart! Oceana is a good club, the only reason you'd not like it is if you are after the cool factor.

Please ignore other reviews of Oceana. I have been to Oceana well over a hundred times since I turned 18. It's got everything anyone would want. Downstairs it has four different themed bars, including a ski lodge and Tokyo bar.

The music in the ballroom includes RnB, house, hip hop, and trance, and occasionally the odd bit of cheese. I have only ever seen one fight in all the times I've been there and anyone who has been enough times will agree that it has a very safe feel to it. It is a really great, modern looking club that I would recommend all year round.

Oceana is a complete cheesefest but I love it. I have been a few times now and apart from sticking to the floor in the ballroom and holding my breath downstairs, it's all good.

The only thing I would mention is that the doorman are so power crazy and have enforced that everyone has ID. Fair enough considering Kingston is a University town but I turned up there a couple of months ago with my friend of 42 and they wouldn't let him in without ID.

Putting that aside, it's always a good laugh and I will go back.

Oceana consists of a few things - the smell of sick; chavs shagging in every possible corner; power tripping bouncers; the most sticky floors I have ever come across; ugly, ugly people and, of course, the people at Oceana are obviously so incapable that they don't realise that the cheese room is for cheesy music and not the smell of cheese...which, by the way, is unbearable.

If you fit the bill of being a cheap, chavvy student who loves nothing more than a imitation Bacardi Breezer and a grope on the dance floor you'd love Oceana.

Love it! The Ballroom at Oceana is fab and there always seems to be a good crowd in there and the music is spot on! Do wish they would sort that smell out in the cheese room though, they play cheesy music yes, but no need for it to actually smell of cheese...yuck! All in all though, Oceana is a top club, best in London by far! And that includes Penthouse, CC's, 10 Room and POP, mad but true!?

I was wrong on my previous review, Oceana is wicked. I'll definitely be going more often. I guess I'm just really fussy about the cheese room being smelly, maybe it's just because there are so many sweaty people there that are smelling cause they are dancing and having fun...I can be a little boring like that. Compared to ANYWHERE else in Kingston, Oceana wins hands down. Go there now! I just feel more gay people should go there and oceana should have nites for us gay people, men and women, why not? It's a much better venue than Reflex.

I have been going to Oceana for two years and it's fab. I think every one should go, you can't get bored when you have 5 rooms to choose from. Plus, if you ask the management nicely, they let you in to the VIP section which probably isn't all it's cracked up to be but people in there are always ace. Go to Oceana and have fun.

I like the idea of all the different rooms, there's something for everyone but if, like me, you like to wonder off from your mates occasionally, I wouldn't. It's so easy to get lost and it may take you ages to find your friends again! But I would recommend paying a visit to Oceana.

I went to Oceana for the first time on a student night, I heard that it was really good with music, drinks and people. Personally I thought it was quality and I'm definitely going to go there again.

They played wicked tunes and I like the way they separated the music rooms to peoples taste, the cheese room played brilliant tunes as did the main ball room. The Oceana bouncers did their job, toliet attendants were jokers.

Nothing more to say really than just go with your mates to have a really good time - but if you're into your heavy rock, I wouldn't advise you go because there aren't any rock rooms and if you don't want to dance then there's no point in going either. Last thing, they do have a lot of hot women in Oceana so if your going to get lucky this is a good place to start.

I think Oceana is brilliant, its the closest you're gonna get to Central London in Greater London. The only reason people rate it as low is because they think everyone has to have the same opinion. There's no point in rating somewhere as crap and then cussing it to others, just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people won't - Oceana is just not your scene I guess. But for all you ravers who can make it to London...go the ballroom in Oceana - its sometimes a bit pricey on weekends but a right laugh with the right people!

If you're out for a laugh then Oceana is the place to go! You can't take the place that serious as it mainly full of drunken students out on the pull! The Disco room plays a mixture of dance, rnb, disco and cheese! But the downside to this room as like its music it actually smells cheesy! ergh!

The main Oceana Ballroom I personally found quite intimidating and was rather 'chavy', with a mixture of dance, drum and base, RnB and hip hop its not a room for the fellow cheese lover! If you're willing to sleep with a random stranger this room is your best bet! Within this complex thats called Oceana, there are four more bars downstairs each consisting of different themes, including 20's Glitz, Departure lounge, Tokyo and the ski lodge all of which are quite tasteful.

So if you're out for nothing more than laugh with your chums and can put up with your feet sticking to the dancefloors then Oceana's the place to go!

Basically, don't knock it until you've tried it. Being so big, Oceana can appeal to many tastes in music and people, just looking for a place to have fun and dance. The music can be repetitive, and for me some of the better modern dancing music can be heard in the bars downstairs.

I wouldn't necessarily suggest girls go in pairs - but guys can get quite full on at times, you definitely need your wits about you. Basically, locals know we are blessed with a club that can offer a capacity for the ever-growing student population, in a town where spacious clubs are rare, and pubs/bars seem to close too early to get into the swing of having a good time.

As for theft...it could happen anywhere, it doesn't take a genius to figure a place that can hold 2500 like Oceana is likely to hold idiots who want to ruin some peoples nights out. Bouncers, yes are quite intimidating - perhaps a little too over the top, but as many have said, its a big place and jobs have to be done.

I agree with some, there is potential for Oceana as a business and venue, but it cant be forgotten that this place is relatively new, and still establishing itself.

If you go to Oceana looking for some serious clubbing action - don't, hop back on the train and head back into Central London. If you want cheesy tracks - go to McCluskys. However, if you want a club that looks ok from the outside, plays average tunes and features unruly door staff - you've come to the right place.

What gets me about Oceana is that it could be so much better - but after a promising start after its extortionate facelift, the dark old days of Options are starting to appear again. Cut a long story short, you can have a much better night - whatever your musical taste - elsewhere.

I started going to Oceana a few months ago. Beforehand, I used to go to other clubs like McLuskys or the Works - both are pretty shite if u ask me! So I tried Oceana and it was a right laugh. Reasonable prices, loads of rooms, generally attractive and sensible crowd, seen one fight in about 6 visits, and that was on a quiet Thursday night. Wednesday for students is wicked, but be up for a mad crowd - so many people its crazy! The ballroom gets packed but such a laugh, seriously go it's brilliant fun. The only bad thing about it is the queuing, especially when your knackered and have to wait for your coats for like an hour, which I had to do. Just don't bring a coat or bring a small one and dance with it if you want my advice, otherwise the queuing at the end lasts forever.

There is a mix of people in there....but it works well - the bouncers are strict but it means no under age kids annoying everyone and no violence etc. My only advice is get to Oceana early...sit in the Tun opposite and watch the queue...it suddenly appears out of nowhere!!! Then leave just before closing at like 2.30 so you miss queue for coats and grab a taxi!!! You have to go...give it a go, c u there!!

Oceana is a difficult club to rate because it has its good and bad points. The fact that it holds 2,500 people (although the bouncers probably refuse people over half of that entry) tells you everything about the possible atmosphere in there.

Usually on every Monday and Wednesday night Oceana fufils its potential and the vibe is lively. However, like most clubs of that size, you ca
