oh my god this place is a dump. my friend does club promotion and invited me to a night here at her table. i looked on the website and it looked cool enough so i popped down to see how it was. the place is the size of a shoebox and was so hot that i actually had to stop drinking alcohol and had to ask for glass of water. there is no dance floor and no private areas at all as the tables are randomly strewn about the club. to top it all off the club is in MASSIVE need of a total refurbishment. the leather benches are stained and tattered and there is so little decor it makes you feel like you are dancing in a dark basement (which at the end of the day is all this place really is).
the review below is accurate about the staff which are great but it is WAY too expensive (20 quid entry to a what is basically a lounge?) for what the club actually is. the website is misleading and the place looks totally different (and much nicer) in the photos
I've been to Pangaea quite a few times and it's not such a bad club.
The drinks are a bit overpriced hence why I've given it 4*. A bottle of wine is about £19 so it's not too bad, as clubs like this usually sell bottles for £30. But I've always found the staff to be quite friendly and helpful, the crowd to be welcoming, and the music to be fun. Also, cos of the layout of the club, it's quite easy to be sociable with other groups of people.
If you go earlyish or by the time everyone's up on the dancefloor, it's quite easy to get a table, I've found.
I know this is usually the case anyway but the only other thing about Pangaea is that the decor looks much nicer in the photos. A LOT NICER.
Right! Where to begin. I went to Pangaea last night (Friday). I'm a 22 year old white female from West London. I love Sean Paul, 50 Cent, etc... and I love to have a good night out with the girls. Basically, if you're the same then don't go to Pangaea....you'll hate it! It's way over priced to get in (£20) for how tiny the place is and its stupid layout. It has low ceilings and strange leather seats all over the place. Basically it's just loads of tables and seats. There's no specific dance floor and every one is on top of each other or the leather seat things. The music is crap - as is the DJ - it's just house beats over the top of strange songs like Eurhythmics and Michael Jackson. Then there's the strange drummer man who drums over all the songs and house beats. The drinks are stupidly over priced - £11 for a vodka and lemonade and God knows how much for champagne or a bottle of Vodka (which is the weird stuff anyway). I think the only way to have a good time in there is to be pissed off your face or high on Cocaine - which most people seemed to be to me! It's full of wannabes and posh kids with too much money that daddy gave to them to snort coke and drink champagne. The only “celebrities” we saw was Ben Lunt from Ship Wrecked and I have no idea why Prince Harry would have ever gone there! The only nice bit was the staff - bouncers are lovely as is the toilet attendant. I doubt I'd go back even if I got in for free! But at least I can say I've been!
I used to frequent Pangaea a couple of years ago as it was quite hype and a good place to chill out and meet interesting adults. I revisited the club last friday and it was a total wash out. The crowd was barely legal and the music was not the best. Overall, I did not have the best of nights and regretted wasting £20 to get into such a mediocre place.
I LOVE PANGEA! Ive been going to Pangea on a regular basis. It is the best club ive found in London. The Club is not pretentious like all the others. All the staff are friendly and polite from the doorman to the bar staff.
And it is a social club because the music is just at the right level to mingle. Which is great because the people are down to Earth and are not shallow like most London clubbers.
I loved Pangaea. We were going to Pacha but didn't get in but im glad we didn't because it is wicked in Pangea. It is small but when you have had a drink or ten, it's wicked. The drinks aren't too bad - it's £20.00 to get in but it's worth it.
Pangaea is a dark, dingy, shockingly tiny, hole in Mayfair. This is the epitome of a club going on reputation and a strict door policy alone. The clientele aren't as sleazy as at Mo*vida but this isn't a classy jaunt by any means. Pangaea is stupidly expensive with bottles of vodka that are priced 8 times what you pay for the retail value.
There is no dance floor at all and without booking a table you aren't allowed to sit without being yelled at by staff. The bar is also stupidly small. Toilets are very cool though and the staff are much more polite than at most elite clubs in London.
Pangaea is really nothing special at all. I have been about three times and never queued simply because my friends and I know the management. If you aren't famous or aren't connected, be prepared to queue for at least an hour if you get there past 10pm.
Inside Pangaea is jammed beyond belief and shockingly tiny. Drinks are expensive and there is no dance floor because it is a table club. This place is not worth the hassle if you have to pay but I guess it's cool to go once to say that you've been.
