Went to paradise for dinner last weekend and had a fabulous time. Was the perfect setting to enjoy a romantic evening with my partner. We arrived early and were seated by a lovely waitress who promptly got chatting and recommended some lovely wine to start us off. My girlfriend had the crab toast to start followed by the smoked haddock which both looked amazing. I had the charcuterie board on recommendation as I was feeling particularly hungry and had an amazing selection of british meats which went down a treat. I then followed with the rump of lamb and I can confidently say it was the best piece of lamb I have ever had! Needless to say the sticky toffee pudding we shared was to die for. We then headed upstairs for a few cocktails out on the roof terrace. We both had an absolutely wonderful time and will definitely be going back with friends. Beautiful venue, delicious food and great cocktails. A must!!!
I went to paradise last friday for dinner with my partner. The atmosphere was terrible; clearly people were only eating there for the 50% toptable offer, as the place was almost empty. The food was average, and was not worth the price. The waitress was very friendly, and the room was very attractive but that was about it.
Have had the best Saturday night out every here last week. I had some exquisite cocktails here last week for a friends birthday bash served by a charming barman who swooned us with knowledge of what make a good old fashioned staff before we headed upstairs and danced the night away to some good beats. Highly Recommend Paradise as the setting for a euphoric evening of good drinks and funky beats.
Defiantly one of my favourite pubs in London. Have been many times, more often than not for parties such as bdays etc. Great nights out!
just lovely - great food, homely cosy environment, good service - feels very smug to have this as a local!
Stopped here for Sunday dinner after walking along the canal from Little Venice. We both had the Sunday dinner - lamb and pork. The best Sunday dinner I've ever had, everything was perfectly cooked - nice crispy crackling on the pork, perfect Yorkshire pudding and crispy/fluffy spuds and vegetables not under, not over-cooked. Really nice atmosphere - we sat in the courtyard out the back - informal wooden tables, plants, stained glass windows.
Though slightly pricey Paradise's Sunday lunch is the best, with its nicely cooked quality meet and vegetables which so many places get very wrong. I could have it every Sunday if I could manage it without putting on a few extra pounds. The relaxed atmosphere and good service and good wine are an added extra, which probably explains the price. Being a local I have been numerous times and never feel disappointed or short-changed.
What a lovely chilled out Sunday I had! After a while sat on my sofa nursing a tremendous hangover, my boyfriend persuaded me out of the house with the promise of a roast dinner - all the trimmings! It is the hangover cure I needed. Mmm. This was my first visit to the Paradise and I was very impressed, so thank you to the staff for looking after us so well, we will definitely be back soon!
Visited here earlier in the week, was completely blown away by the lamb main course I had. WOW is the only word to describe it.
Also, went for a bottle of Dead Arm to accompany my food, with 15% alcohol it was more like Dead Legs by the end of the night.
Must visit, is a wonderful experience. Attentive, knowledgeable (and good lookin) waitresses made the whole visit very worthwhile.
Well done Paradise!
I would definitely come back here and recommend a friend! Excellent food, excellent service and excellent building to explore.
Went here Wednesday and was unexpectedly surprised by the sheer size of the place. Had a look around and they've got a winding staircase up through what feels like a very classy victorian building. Reminded me of Harry Potter, but without the moving stairs.
The food was excellent and very tasty. The bartender was friendly too and me and my friend had a good chat with him.
Well done Paradise! You're now one of my top London restaurants and bars.
The Paradise is one of the best Gastro Pubs in West London, It surpassed my expectations and being in the hospitality business myself that says a lot. Thanks to all who helped and the modern British food and quality was magnificent(in particular the beef and Eton mess).
Marguerite and Carmen were charming and efficient and the whole event worked very well in the Library. Will be back soon for my regular Sunday lunches but will try and find another occasion soon (as will my guests who were equally impressed). Many thanks to all the lovely staff at the Paradise.

Dining at the Paradise was an absolutely lovely experience, excellent menu with an array of wonderfully delicious food on offer. Desserts were good enough to write home about, the sorbet was absolutely to die for, and the bill came in at a very reasonable price.
The building itself is simply charming and the dining room very comfortable surroundings to eat in. My only fault is that on a Saturday night the main bar and DJ room does get very busy but as we were in the dining room we didn't have to worry about it and could enjoy the relaxed atmosphere there.
All in all a splendid evening out.
Paradise is probably the BEST BAR in WEST LONDON! And I don't just say that as I'm a local.
I've tried the fashionable Notting Hill pubs, the stylish Soho bars and the 'West End' night outs, but nothing compares to Paradise by Way of Kensal Green.
It's different, is what best describes this west Landon gastropub. Whether you eat in the restaurant or dance in the DJ room upstairs,
I've always come away having a great time. Well done, Paradise. You'll see me this weekend. Again.
I was reading the previous reviews and must say am a bit surprised. I visited Paradise on Saturday night and had a great time.
We came in early and sat at the bar before we went in to the restaurant. The bar had a great vibe, the drinks were priced as about the same as any good West London venue and the people were stylish and yet not overpoweringly posh.
Now, I'm in my late twenties and single and I think this is a great place to meet others in my league. When we entered the restaurant, it looked busy and bubbling, which is the mark of a good restaurant.
Service though a bit slow was great, and we were always enquired after and recommendations were made with re. to wine and food. The food was brilliant, we spent about £70 between my and my friend on three courses each which is quite reasonable.
We left a little tipsy, happy and thoroughly satisfied with service and will surely be back.
Went to Paradise for the first time with some friends the other night and loved the venue...
great decor and lots of different rooms meaning you can end up spending the whole night there, drinks followed by dinner and then more drinks and dancing.
The food was lovely, especially the desserts, and will definitely be coming back again.
did carnival at paradise again this year - 2nd year running and still the best place to go post-carni!! loved it!!
Probably the rudest and most pretentious place I have visited.
Our polite, multicultural and well behaved group was denied access to the courtyard via the restaurant.
The rude waitress and arrogant manager hassled us while allowing other patrons to walk through. Never ever again.
Disgusting place. Gary
Went to Paradise on Friday, a great place for after work drinks.
A jug of Pimms went down really well in the summer sun.
Followed by a great dinner, the Lamb is amazing, and not expensive at all, well worth every penny.
I went to Paradise last night for the first time and having heard a lot about it.
It didnt disappoint. The building is beautiful - large enough so you would never get bored - and throughout its gorgeously decorated.
It feels warm and friendly inside - and the staff and service is great. The food was even better.
Having been to many gastropubs and paid through the nose for pretty standard grub, my drinks (papaya daiquiri) were fantastic (now my new fave tipple) and the lamb with potato dauphinois (sp) was tender and a generous portion.
So very tasty. Not cheap, but worth it. Really nice.
Many of my friends have raved about this pub so my expectations were high, the pub its self is gorgeous, very unique. Had a wicked night.
We got there around 6ish Saturday night and was seated in the restaurant straight away (with no booking) v friendly staff and its a visually interesting and gorgeous pub.
Food was delich, yummy deserts with a pricy tag.
We then toured the upper floor and terrace it was busy packed(loads of bouncers-they need that) so went back down to the bar-we could actually see.
It was a great evening and would definitely go again sometime!
I went to the Paradise last night for a birthday party. We were a mixed group if gus and girls and really liked the place. It does get very crowded and there' not much space to move around though( of course being Saturday night).Maybe for this reason the doormen kept coming to us to ask us to move away from the door, away from the corridor, away from the stairs.
As much as I understand that it's important not to stay in way of other people the way he was approaching us was incredibly rude and slighty aggressive. I found it very strange considering he was mainly addressing his complaints to the girls even pushing them around.
We do go a lot and most of the times we go to clubs and I can honestly say I have never see this rudeness from a doormen. This really put us off and I don't know if we are going back.I suggest this aggressive and intimidating behaviur should be used outside to control the line or maybe just in case of problems!Christina
I don’t know where to start really;I’ve been to this pub a few times & each time has been for a different occasion. This lively gastro pub has so much to offer. If you fancy a few cocktails and some romancing with the missus this is the place. The ground-floor bar has a great ambience with a slightly seductive feel with many original features and also quite gothic which is very cool.
Through into the dining area, I have had the pleasure to eat again a few times. Each time the experience really has been fantastic. The oysters are always amazing (see romance!) served with a Merlot & red onion vinegar, drizzle on some fresh lemon. Delicious!
For the mains, I’m usually tucking into the steak and chunky-chips or Lamb with mash. The home-made chicken pie is also a winner. Believe. All this comes with incredibly friendly service. The staff seem genuinely happy to be there and offer good knowledge on each dish and expert advise wine.
After dinner if you’re happy to continue the good-times I recommend heading to the upstairs bar. Here I have experienced some killer nights.Early in the week is there are some cool acoustic nights usually new acts with the odd big name like Johnny Borrell, Kid Harpoon and Lightspeed Champion to name a few. Later in the week you’ll find a more “bouncing” crowd.
I’ve seen some big DJ’s perform, on my last outing I believe Tom Rowlands (1 half of chemical brothers) play an un-planned set. Also, If you’re into a wee bit a celeb spotting this is also the place. I think this was the same night I saw Kate Moss!I’m looking forward to having a laugh at the new comedy nights too.To summaries;I’d probably live there if they’d let me. Keep up the good work…
What can I say about this awesome gastro-pub....What first strikes you as you walk in the place is the decor and ambience. It is decedent and lavish but not so much that it feels formal and up its own arse. It makes you feel at ease, comfortable and excited at the prospect of an enjoyable afternoon of eating and drinking. The first thing to mention is the Bloody Mary club. I don’t know about you but there is nothing I like more on a Sunday lunchtime to get me back up to speed than a bloody mary.
However at the Paradise they do it slightly differently. If you are with a large group you are provided with a bottle of Stoli and all the trimmings to create your own Bloody Marys. Some might say this is lazy but I am very particular about how mine is made. It is also good fun and a great way to interact with your fellow guests and get proceedings started. However, do not fear, I asked the every present, friendly waiter that if it was just me would I still have to drink a whole bottle of vodka to myself.
I was reassured this was not the case a single drinks would be prepared by the bar staff. Now on to the food. In one word: outstanding. The roast I had was cooked to perfection. A slab of the most succulent beef, crisp & fluffy roast potatoes, fresh el dente vegetables, and Yorkshire puddings that my granny could only dream of.
This was followed by an apple and rhubarb crumble which was to die for. In fact it nearly finished me off as all the portions were on the healthy side of good leaving you contented and satisfied. The penny dropped when I was told by the waiter that the chef was trained by Marco Pierre White. To summaries the décor and ambience were lovely, the food fantastic, the service was friendly and fast and the booze was flowing. The Paradise at first glance may seem a little expensive but let me assure you it is reassuringly so.
I'd heard loads about The Paradise from friends who live locally, and then, on my way back from holiday, I read about it in a glossy in-flight magazine. So I was hoping for great things when I ventured to Paradise by Way of Kensal Green for dinner - and I wasn't disappointed.
The whole place is so elegant, in a shabby-chic kind of way and very twinkly, with lots of little candles creating a cosy ambience - a perfect bolthole on a wintry evening. In the dining room, which is decorated with huge bird cages (sounds weird; totally works) I was delighted to find the tables spread satisfyingly far apart - I can't bear having to listen to other peoples' conversations (they possibly feel the same about mine).
My friend and I whiled away a very happy few hours with amazing food (I highly recommend the pork cheeks), excellent wine and relaxed but perfectly attentive service - all from a team of unfeasibly good-looking young men. Which in itself is a reason enough to return...
Have been coming to the Paradise for the last year or so since the revamp and I have to say the consistency with which they continue to deliver a top notch product day in day out is worth a mention. The pub always has a buzz, the lighting and music always perfect.
The laid back dining room with top notch grub and a menu that changes daily is always welcoming, the waiters that I have come to know on first name terms genuinely want to look after you and want for you and your friends to have a great time. Next time you are in watch them, it’s as if they know everyone.
The few times I’ve ventured upstairs have been great with a whole load of different nights for different crowds. What more could you ask for in a local boozer? Ten out of ten and I hope they keep up the hard work for many years to come.
Absolutely love the venue. Had a meeting with the lovely Melissa and was greeted by friendly faces (staff and customers) and stylish decor. The only thing that bettered my welcome was the food. Absolutely stunning.
For starters I had the salmon which was dressed to perfection and presented beautifully. The main course, after being swayed away from the "safe" steak option, was delicious. Widgeon is a meat which I have never tried before and to be honest, I am so glad I chose it as it was cooked to perfection and the sauce complemented it like no other, I imagine, could.
To wash it down was a bottle of Barolo which accompanied the red meat perfectly.
All in all great food, great company and great surroundings.
Highly recommend it.
We took two friends recently. Great atmos. Busy, noisy - great crowd of young people. Nice decor and all the rest. It's certainly a place you'd want to be – we thought. Yes – EXCEPT for the extraordinarily calamitous service we had. Staff vaguely wandersing round looking into the middle distance - WITHOUT ever catching your eye when you needed attention. Bunches of waiting staff huddled together as if for company. Then huddled round the till like as if they were playing a one armed bandit. Our waiter - when he could be found - totally screwed the order, then totally screwed the bill. The manager (who had himself been on a bit of a lost wander round all evening) finally apologised when we got the bill sorted and then excused our waiter because it was his first night - EVER!! This was a TOTAL let -down. The food was 100% fabulous and the wines fine. But... should a place like this, trying hard to build a reputation in a difficult venue in challenging times be subjecting its clientelle to inexperienced waiters. I think not. It is not a cheap caff. Though I would have got better service at a Denny's or a local greasy spoon. It was totally embarrassing for us and our guests. We have not been back. And have told others who asked of this off-putting experience. Sorry guys you HAVE to get it right on the button - every time.Duncan

Thank you,

Certainly this place is very much of the moment and so is well attended with great music upstairs. However I was there Saturday night and it is pretty full of kids - the very early 20's brigade and of course this isn't a problem but the great thing about all the 'cool' bars in Kensal is they are more for the 30 something group. You do feel as if you are in a kiddies disco.
Was a little worried about the dubius trip to kensal green, but was very happy we did in the end. Went for dinner last weekend for a friend's birthday and was pleasantly suprised by this charming venue on what is otherwise just a normal West London road. Dinner was delicious, i recommend the fois gras - the staff even offered me extra toast after they'd seen i'd got through the first load! Service was a plus point, and helped create a great evening.
Paradise is absolutely fantastic!!!! The decor is exquisite, with a unique twist to traditional styling. I had dinner on Saturday and everything about the experience was great; from the staff to the food. If you need a tasteful but great place to dine then this place is a true piece of Paradise. Massive thumbs up!!!
Went to the Paradise with a new flame for the second time on a Friday, got there quite early around 7pm thought ill get the old charm bubbling in a cosy warm atmosphere, boy was I wrong by ten the women were piling in, with the most stunning ladies were just rolling in. . . . . . . Not only that the whole place was full of beautiful people no doubt ill be celebrating my b-day down there nxt month
I had heard good things about this place so decided to try it out last night to see what the fuss was about. Well the hype is justified! We had a truly fantastic evening. The food was to die for but what really made the evening was the stunning dining room and atmosphere in the pub. Me and the missus will be back very very soon.
I was up in London on business with a colleague and ended up at Paradise to eat.
The venue is simply stunning. There is no other word for it. We sat in comfortable wing backed chairs and enjoyed a pint of Scrumpy before adjourning to the dining room.
The atompshere in the dining room was vibrant yet relaxed with dim lighting and a lot of candles.
Our waiter, Mario, was fantastic even choosing the wine we had with each course.
The food was absolutely out of this world. The oysters were so fresh and I would whole heartedly recommend the venison for a main followed by Eton Mess for dessert.
All in all a top place with exquisite food and service. I will be going again. Soon.
I very much disagree with the precedent review.
One of the very good thing about the Paradise IS its location.
I strongly suggest to people willing to or living in central London to stay there down there.
The obvious reason being that it is getting colder right now.
One option will have been to deconstruct the place, and rebuildt it closer to where MIssBev is now living.
That will have:
(1) kept the price of the Stella the same.
(2) calm down the ever expanding real estate fever spreading more west.
(3) enable the guy asking for a penny and a fag outside the paradise (purgatory) to spend a more decent winter.
But I do like the place, I had pretty much all the starters on the Bar's menu, the cheap side of the establishment, and none of them have been used to redecorate the place, (great taste), or the sidewalk....
It is all good.............. all....
We've been to the Paradise twice now and it's been perfect each time for two very different nights.
Our first visit was a Saturday night out - great fun, danced like nutters upstairs, fab crowd and didn't want to leave. The decor's fantastic with a different feel to each room.
Second time was for dinner with friends. The food was amazing - beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and impressive range of flavours and textures. Service was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in the dining room was lively but chilled out - perfect for catching up with friends with a bottle of wine, or three.
Recommended all round, a really great find.
Had dinner here the other day and I really enjoyed it. Fantastic decor and surprisingly good food. Didn't manage to have the 'banging night out' I've heard so much about but cracking restaurant and bar.
