SHAUN RYDER
Happy Monday’s frontman Shaun Ryder will be headlining Proud’s NYE event CIRQUE! at O2 superclub Matter with an exclusive DJ set.

Despite controversially missing The Gorillaz tour to take part in I’m A Celebrity, the infamous character will rekindle his connection with UK superclubs by playing an instrumental role in resurrecting one of London’s only superclubs.

JUST ADDED - DJ YODA:
Critically acclaimed DJ Yoda will not only use his legendary turntable skills and diverse range of music to play a set of ‘unashamed party music’ guaranteed to have NYE revellers filling the matter dance floor.

The pioneering DJ will also bring a trail-blazing AV set, using cutting edge technology to combine a mash-up of film, TV and YouTube clips to add spectacular visuals to his DJ sets; demonstrating just why he has been named as ‘one of the ten DJs to see before you die’ by Q magazine, ‘One of the top three DJs in the world’ by Hip Hop Connection and XYZ declaring ‘DJ Yoda... in an era of playlist-skipping and remixes of bootlegs and bootlegs, he’s more relevant than ever’ – XYZ Magazine

Underground Disco/Italo & Electronic Funk Paradise 45 has been running all of 2010 at the wonderful Dalston Superstore in East London and also occasional parties in Ibiza over spring and Summer, soundtracking a perfect blend of Future Disco/Italo classic disco and 80's Gems always with a great atmosphere and together as Paradise 45.

Guy Williams and Thomas Gandey have already remixed Grace Jones/The Temper Trap/Studio Killerz to great response including support from Pete Tong-Radio One. They are currently working on original material and more remixes.

Proud launches NYE extravaganza - CIRQUE! and pop up nights at superclub Matter.

Starting with a massive NYE spectacle, Proud Group gets set to launch a series of pop up January and February club nights at the legendary 02 venue. In line with their tradition of taking on iconic venues and making them relevant to new audiences, Proud Group plans to inject former superclub Matter with a renewed lease of life. Proud’s pop up nights, characterised by their signature blend of live music, theatrical performances and unrivalled entertainment will run throughout early 2011; launching with the epic NYE event - Proud @ Matter’s CIRQUE!

CIRQUE! will be the latest addition to unmissable NYE celebrations at Proud Camden, Proud Cabaret and Proud Brighton; promising to give New Year’s Eve revellers the ultimate Proud experience. Set to an unmissable soundtrack of performances from the likes of huge industry stars (all star line-up to be revealed in next 48 hours), the superclub will be transformed with a complete circus theme and encourages guests to get into the hedonistic mood with an extravagant burlesque dress-up policy.

Among the Vegas, Cirque du Soleil-inspired acts confirmed for NYE is the notorious ‘Black Magic Show’. Having been described as the ‘edgiest, sexiest, most adrenaline filled group you will ever see’, the troupe bring a sexy ‘rock’ image to the circus night. Expect the stunning Fuel Girls, world famous aerialists, fire-breathers, professional dancers, stilt walkers, angle grinders, trapeze artists and edgy & tattooed snake-charming models who will provide an interactive show on stage, in the air and on all the venue’s bars. Such breathtaking performances, aimed at ‘beautiful people and twisted minds’, have led the group to international success in cities all over the world, such as Las Vegas, Hollywood, San Tropez, Marseille and Miami.

CIRQUE! will also have a number of hidden twists and surprises in store, with jugglers and contortionists amongst a motley crew of beguiling performers. Whilst circus troupes perform death-defying stunts, blow flames and walk the high rope, Matter’s top floor will capture the dizzy heights of true Vegas glamour. This VIP area, complete with personal hostesses, will attempt to recapture the Vegas Rat Pack scene, where showgirls and entertainers will mingle with musicians and performance artists.

To ensure CIRQUE! celebrations are completely carefree, in addition to TFL’s free NYE transport links, Proud will provide their own transport system, with Routemaster Buses running every 10 minutes so guests can party until the early hours with no worries. Those who seek an even more stylish means of transport will be well advised to see the New Year off in true Rat Pack style and make a table booking, where limousine transport from door to door is all part of the service. Unlike previous nights run in the superclub, clubbers will not have to deal with past public transport issues experienced at Matter. Proud’s own, efficient transport services will be provided for customers on all of the pop up, revolving Friday and Saturday Proud @ Matter club nights; set to continue throughout January and February 2011.
