Do not use Proud Camden, worst night for years. Booked burlesque show,1 burlesque dancer who was rushed, advised free entry to club afterwards, weren't told club was where we were sitting and table would be moved. Told strict dress code, only for hundreds of young people to come in wearing dirty jeans, trainers, and ripped t shirts, who pushed us out of seats we agreed to share with other people who apparently paid extra for. Complained to staff who were rude and said we should move. Obviously the younger crowd are more important and the club con people to watch a show and have a meal until the younger crowd have had their drink and ready to club the night away. Can name staff if required. Disgusted with whole experience and would not recommend to anyone.
Been on Thursdays and Saturdays and had a great time, good crowd and music. Only complaint is maybe bouncers should think a bit more about how many people they let in on Saturdays, bit silly when you can't physically move in there!
I went to Proud last weekend on sunday afternoon, the venue is beautiful and the staff were really friendly and observant. I loved the atmosphere outside and the live acoustic music made me feel like i was sat at glastonbury festival again! They had mulled wine which was a huge comfort in the chilly air. The bands inside were also fantastic! was nice to have a choice of entertainment. I saw that they also have an area for children in the restaurant which was a lovely touch. Having such a large venue but still managing to be cosy was fantastic to experience. I only wish I lived closer and could go every weekend. Somewhere perfect to chill in the day and dance in the evening!
Worst Night out in such a long time! Over priced, rude staff and pretty disgusting! Friends have had good nights here in the past but it has completely gone down hill, really rude door staff and then dirty, disgusting club!
Myself and friends visited Proud Camden last Thursday for the Burlesque evening and we were very impressed. We were welcomed into the venue and upon entering, the decor was beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment for the night - especially the host/compere, this lady really made us laugh. We have recommended Proud Camden to our friends and will definitely return, as the food was absolutely delicious too!
Very satisfied customers indeed.
:)
Valentine's Day. You'd think it was a time or an intimate time with your girl. Clearly not something that crossed the mind of management at Proud.
Booked a table at £39pp only to arrive to a 4 person table, barely able to accommodate 2. The waitstaff claimed we couldn't move as it would cause problems with orders. Few if any had ordered anything yet however as few customers had had any orders taken!
Then the waitstaff tries to smooth things over by offering a cocktail and later, a bottle of champagne. Both were a part of the package.
#Fail. They called it an anti-vallentine's right which was right.
Next time, go somewhere else.
I had dinner at Proud Camden yesterday and really had a fantastic night. The Burlesque show was fun and very entertaining and there was a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Food was delicious and staff made us feel very special despite the restaurant being full. We took the 3 courses meal and although portions looked small at first, we all left feeling very full. I really recommend it!
I booked a stable last week for my birthday and l later finding the had a restaurant decided to book in to "line our bellies" before the night big ahead.
What started off as a quick meal before the night out turned into the highlight of the evening! There was burlesque show while we were dining, the staff were great so fun that they just added to the whole experience. We were whopping and cheering the acts all the way through that it set such a great party mood. The food was great. I wouldn't say it was a full on 3course dinner but was perfectly proportioned for the night ahead.
I personally wouldn't suggest this for a couple on a Saturday night, but it is a perfect social fun atmosphere for groups of friends.
Later we went onto the club and in usual Proud style had an amazing evening. It offered the whole package!
I feel I'm going on slightly, but it was my birthday and with disappointment at other clubs with queues, rushing around to get the whole group in blah blah blah....I just wanna express my thanks to proud for such a great evening! Will be back soon!
Went down to Proud Camden last Thursday with a few friends. We went there quite early (8ish) and it wasn't that busy yet but the vibe on the outside terrace in the back was pretty nice. (it wasn't that cold and they put the heaters on, so pretty comfy) After a few drinks people started coming, bands started to play (which were very good) and me and my friends had a lovely night. Good live music, good DJs, two rooms to choose from, crowded, but not too swamped (which I find annoying anyway) so a good night out if you can stand the hangover on a Friday.
Thursday is the new Friday.
The most incredible night. awesome music, all bar staff and door staff so friendly. Staff also so good when i thought i had lost my purse, they were the best!!!!
Went to proud galleries on Saturday for a friends hen do, surprisingly I had a great night. I was bit scared at first at 35 years of age i'm no spring chicken, and the clientele did seem to be a younger crowd. I actually can't remember the last time I went to a club, not something you do when you have kids. The music in the restaurant bar/south room was great for the older generation like me. Lovely disco music and the old school music all night. It bought back memories of my younger days ;). Thank you proud for catering for the oldies as well.
Went to Proud last Thursday and had a great night.
Bands and DJ's were awesome and the atmosphere on the outside terrace was great.
Going back this Thursday, can't wait!!
I adore this venue, I can go any night of the week (though Thursdays are my favourite!) and see some really great bands whilst getting moderately drunk - drinks prices are pretty fair for London! Great DJs come on afterwards if you want to stay and party for a little bit, and there's absolutely no shortage of places to wonder. I love the outside smoking terrace.
The atmosphere of this venue is awesome. It being the old horse hospital transformed in to a venue with all the stables being intact gives the place a nice vibe. Last night's BAD SEX, as the Thursday night is called, was a really good one. It started slightly slow - it didn't get pumping until 11 - but the bands that were on were really good. A cool mixture of Electro and Indie.
The outside terrace which overlooks part of the huge Camden market was busy all night, with people chatting smoking and drinking. Having a bar there, made it easy to get drinks. Although busy - which sometimes made you have to wait bit longer before being served - the bar staff is friendly and does try to help you quickly and properly.
Music is good, vibe is good, venue looks awesome. Drinks are slightly expensive but entry fees are reasonable (£5 to get in, but £3 with a flyer, which you'll get around the corner from the flyerers when you walk towards the venue).
Thursday's BAD SEX has a good vibe, with good music. Good to check out the bands and get your boogie on after with pumping DJ's or chilling out on the terrace.
Definitely worth checking out.
I went to Proud Camden last Saturday with 2 of my girls and we danced the night away to great music. We bumped into some fun ppl and ended up spending the whole night in of the extraordinary stables. All in all a night out to remember and to be repeated.
We booked a stable here for my sisters birthday and it was a terrible night. The karaoke stable had no ventilation, was so hot that friends had to leave early and you could not hear the karaoke due to the noise from the club. When we complained, the management were rude and unresponsive. It ruined her night so please think twice before booking here.
Went there on Friday and had an amazing time again. Proud Camden has everything you could want on a night out.!
I'm going to try to be fair here but generally I was part of a group which had a bad experience. We were 10 in total, and decided to go for a meal here and spend the night for a 30th birthday....due to the size of the group we were asked two days before to place our order, and the night was prepaid at the time of booking. Therefore it seemed strange to arrive and be told that our table wasn't available as we'd called to cancel our booking that day....when we'd prepaid and pre-ordered?! On a positive note we were found space, albeit slightly cramped, but the service lacked any real compassion. At one point we had a group bet if one particular waitress could actually smile. The soup was pretty bland and 4 of the group had a risotto dish for main which had to be sent back - it had the strongest smell of garlic when it arrived but an overpowering taste of mint that left a slightly bitter after taste and none of the four could stomach it. To be fair to the lady in charge she changed all four meals but because we were then running late we were hardly finished when we were required to move so they could move the tables and create some space for when the bands were performing.
The night went OK from there, it wasn't as packed as I'm sure it does get so my advice would be to go and enjoy a few beers and live music, but think twice about eating there.....
was at proud on Saturday for a friends birthday had a great night. Love the outdoor space, works perfect for the weather, can see it being popular in the summer. We spent most our night in the restraunt room, the music was amazing, my feet are still sore from dancing.
The team at Proud were fantastic when we faced an issue on Saturday 05/03/2011 with a promoter in Camden. They were very pleasant and gave us a stage for our artist JonPaul Palombo to perform, rather then having to cancel the show and disappoint the fans. The show was great, the sound was fantastic and the venue was a prime success for a Saturday night slot in the heart of Camden.
Proud is a unique and attractive venue and after the show you can expect to party the night away with some great music, a great crowd and a fantastic vibe.
We had a wonderful experience with the team, a cracking show at the venue and a night of dancing and fun to follow. Proud to have worked with Proud! Would love to play there again!
Great club. Good music, nice atmosphere. Only thing you have to queue forever to get it. Worth it though. Would go back again
Went to proud last Saturday night for the first time, had to wait in the queue for 20 mins but it was definitely worth it, the atmosphere and music was unbelievable in both rooms, very disco, funk, soul in the small room and house in the main room. makes a change from the normal dross you hear round camden! Every seemed up for it! Was very busy but had a good time. will definitely reccomend to anyone.
Went to Proud last Saturday and had an amazing time! Two huge main rooms with different but equally as good music! Also a large bar outside with heating where you can smoke and sit down. The stage acts with dancers and acrobats made for great entertainment and really made the night! Overall an amazing night! I highly recommend it!
Went to Proud Camden on Wednesday night for dinner and to see a couple of bands. We bought a deal from groupon for 3 course meal for £18 and it was really terrible! We could barely eat the food! I tend to agree with alot of the reviews about staff. I don't think I have been anywhere that had such bad staff. From the door to the waitress to the bar staff to security. They all seemed to not care! I really feel that is is such a shame because it is a pretty cool venue. The owner really needs to wake up!
Cool venue, good music, maybe for a younger clientele (especially in the way they treat people!) ... I hired a stable for a birthday party and I've had a really awful experience with the staff that has no idea how to treat guests especially if they are spending lot of money in drinks etc..! .... first of all the free entrance for the guest list with the stable is till 9... if you arrive at 9.01 you have to pay.... there is no priority entrance if you hire a stable .... you have to queue with everybody else and eventually pay if it takes too long to get in.... I've been offended and treated really badly by the guy at the entrance door because I wanted to go quickly to thanks a friend for a present that was outside..... I had to queue again and pay! I couldn't believe it....I told it to the manager and she couldn't care less.....
Anyway it was a nice evening but I won't go back for sure!
great location - shame about the management! we went on saturday - this club was way too crowded to the point of being dangerous. we had to queue for 20 minutes to get from one room to another! luckily the music was great and the atmosphere was brilliant, love the terrace! such a shame that the owner hasn't quite got the hang of customer relations...we were pretty much pushed out of there by him after complaining that we had to queue for 45 minutes to collect our coats at the end!
I went to Proud Camden on Saturday to see what they managed to do with their new night, Ride, and I must say that I've been amazed by the ambiant, and all the show they offered !
I had so much fun, enjoying the show of the Fuel girls, and the live band on stage !!
Before the night, I went to have dinner with friend at their new restaurant, Proud Kitchen, Delicious !
I highly recommend it !!
Love the venue, especially love Ride on Saturdays! The Fuel Girls get more and more entertaining each week, the bands are always awesome and the DJs never let the crowd down. Great atmosphere all round, helped by the enthusiastic bar staff and friendly girls on the door. Top marks Proud x
The soft porn display on stage on Saturday was seriously unnecessary. When a club has to resort to having dancers dressed as skanks and hoes, stroking themselves on stage it’s just announcing the fact that they can’t get good enough djs to entertain the crowds. If I had wanted a gyno lesson I could have stayed at home and read my flatmate's medical books. Who was this meant to appeal to? To say nothing of the weedy glass collectors having to wear t shirts with ‘ride me’ emblazoned across them? It so misses the mark. This is definitely a place in decline.
Such an awesome venue! So quirky, bar staff are genuinely beautiful lovely people and of course the live bands that the club puts on are insane. Never been disappointed. Love chilling out in the stables, although I should never ever be allowed near those dancing poles! Had a sneak peak at the smaller room which is now a restaurant. Can't wait to try it out, looks amazing.
No matter what, I always come back to Proud, it's so multi-faceted and I'm always surprised with their ever changing nights. Never a dull moment.
Went to Proud to see some live music on Thursday. Great place. Good atmosphere and the staff were cool. A couple of the bands were well on fire. One in particular, some young 'uns from Essex called the Redtrack were stunning.
Keep getting music like this and Proud won't go wrong. Saw this band there a couple of years ago and was reasonably impressed but they are definitely the real thing now. Well done Proud for sticking with the new music.
Felt compelled to write a review on Proud Camden. Went to Proud on Saturday past as my friend had hired a stable for her birthday, we had dinner in the lovely restaurant then moved through to the stable area to party. The club night was amazing, the music was a really good mix of everything between both rooms and then the performers came out! Visually brilliant with hoop shows and fire breathing to name a few, then a bloody live horse being ridden by a naked girl walked through the club! Honestly one of the best nights out I have had in London for a very long time. Highly recommended.
I went to proud Camden the other day and I have to say the staff are lovely and the venue is beautiful, it is a really cool place. Music, art and entertainment... its great.
Possibly the worst door staff of any club in London. The queue was out of control with all the staff clearly out of their depth, all the staff where rude and stuck up with a total disregard for the customers. I am surprised the club was so crowded given the attitude of the staff but judging by the clientele it was most likely the cheap prices and Camden location. There are so many better venues in London so why anyone would travel here is beyond me. Just avoid Proud unless you want a poor night with most of the time spent queuing and being treated like cattle. If you are determined to go just arrive really early.
stuck up management: can't nearly achieve the relaxed, funky vibe their aiming for when its run like a military operation. massive fail.
I went to Proud on Saturday night and had a really good night. The Correspondents were amazing! I was really surprised by Proud Camden on the night. You will see a lot of different rooms, and a great roof terrace. I booked a guestlist too and the queue was admittedly pretty long, but I kind of expected it as we got there at 9 and it did say on our form to turn up by 8pm. Seemed like a really busy night as the other queue was real long but once I got in I had a wicked night! Packed out of course, but still enjoyed myself. Decent priced drinks for a Camden venue and the stables look amazing! Would go again for sure!
Booked a guestlist for Saturday night .. only 1 pound to put me and my friends on which is pretty generous considering.
I got a phone call from the staff on Friday to warn me the club would get to capacity earlier than usual (which was nice of them) and being Saturday night in the center of Camden i arrived ready to not get in possibly .. or queue. .. and i did have to queue a bit but i should have shown up earlier! Once in it was an awesome night, busy just like everywhere else in Camden. Figured i would just head somewhere else if it seemed to hectic.
I've been to Proud on many different nights of the week and i don't think a venue can be judged just because it had a packed out Saturday night. Good for them. Go out earlier in the week if you like to get in quickly and want lots of elbow room.
This is an appalling establishment that clearly has no idea how a club is run. The venue has far to big an ego, thinking that because some people rate it and because it is in Camden that it can treat its guests like they are pieces of dirt that mean nothing.
I wanted to go see the correspondents for my birthday and a month in advance PAID for a guestlist which allowed free entry before 9 and was open till 10 or 11.
Friends of mine arrived 8.45 and had to queue with everyone else to get in. not entering till 10.
I arrived at 9.30, ample time i think, and was only just allowed in the queue. We were told it was a one in one out policy and after an hour and half in the queue were told we might get in when the correspondents finished.
The club had a disregard for its customers and had just let any tom dick or harry in from the start
Everytime I tried to talk to staff to ask what privilege I had paid for they were objectionable, cocky and unhelpful, in particular the management, some bearded man whose incompetency means he should be grateful he has a job at all.
After paying for a guestlist, spending 25 quid on travel I ended up sitting in pub in London for my birthday. Proud and their arrogance and retardedness ruined my day and I don't recommend anyone go there.
