Had a great time at Reflex! Me and a couple of friends went for a girls night out and had the best time! Door staff were very polite and as we were on the guestlist we had queue jump :) We had booked a booth downstairs by the dance floor and danced the night away while drinking the amazing Cocktails! Amazing night out thank you Reflex! Cant wait to come back soon!

Me and a group of friends went to Reflex the other weekend. We got on the guestlist, we did want a booth but due to popular demand there they didn'tt have one for us. This didn’t matter as we had soooo much fun. Music was fantastic; drinks were very cheap for central London. All staff was excellent, door staff, bar staff and management. Had a great atmosphere inside and outside the venue. A big thank you to everyone who made it such a fantastic night. Will be back as soon as possible!

16 of us flew over from Dublin and attended there on Saturday just gone for a 30th Birthday. We had made a booking online in which there was a little mix up. But this was swiftly resolved before we got there. We were escorted to our reserved area. From word go we couldn’t have possibly been looked after any better. The Staff were fantastic. Especially Bar Supervisor Ega? (I may have got that name wrong, sorry!). Super super night. Definitely recommend getting the Giant glasses and blow up guitars! Cocktail Sharers are a brilliant idea too! We also won the dance off which was hilarious! Great venue for lots of cheesy entertainment! Dirty Dancing on the giant screens while you dance – genius! Also I believe they have a 90’s bar which we will be checking out for sure! Please bring one to Dublin!! We are booking our flights over for our next trip! Thanks to Jamie and Ega for a wonderful night! Kind regards, Helen

Went to Reflex last weekend. Usually good have been several times. But was told new management have taken over. Rubbish, full of teenagers. staff could not care less about customers. All they want is your money and they pack as many people is as possible. Will not be going back. Shame cos it used to be great.

I visited Reflex in Watling Street last month for my birthday and would strongly recommend Reflex if you are planning a special night out. I called the week before and spoke to a gentleman called Gary regarding reserving an area for the evening - I wanted to book quite a large group and thought I would have problems like I did at a few other places I had called previously to Reflex but Gary was so helpful it made the process so easy. On the night of my birthday we arrived to a long queue but had no problem what so ever in getting in as Gary had made sure that everyone in my party was on the guest list. The Door staff were very thorough but really friendly I didn't feel intimidated at all (like you do at other clubs in the area). We found our area straight away and had such a brilliant time. They have lots of bar staff on so you don't have to queue up long for drinks and the music was cheesy just right for Reflex. I would really like to thank Gary and the Reflex staff for making my birthday so brilliant. I will definitely be going there again. One last thing, you need to check out the dancing competition on a Saturday night! It is so good! Even if you don't want to join in, watching is just as fun. Enjoy people!

This place is rubbish. The door staff are ignorant and impolite. I was kept waiting for ages before being let in just so I would have to pay more.

The video screens were showing a film rather than music videos. There were tacky extras like young guys walking around shirtless, giving shots to women. I couldn't wait to leave.

What a load of b****ks! I made a booking on line for my hen night, eventually. Got a call back! Anyway that was fine all booked! Booked in good time! When I got to the doors, my name wasn't on the list? So didn't get my Q jump or free bottle of bubbly afterall! Also, my step father was 50 last year, got asked for id and was refused entry because he didn't have this! Hahaha! Pathetic! Never going back!

Security staff get the 5 stars though especially number 9 - he is so fit!

A potentially fantastic 80s night out was damaged by over-zealous heavy-handed security staff. We were celebrating the engagement of a couple, one of whom was almost thrown out for standing on the stairs. Some other guests left at this point, frustrated with the way this was handled. Other friends who had made great efforts to dress up and travel far, were not even allowed in. Security found petty reasons (based on gender/time/clothing/etc) to deny entry. We won't be going back and unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this venue to anyone.

I called to get my group on the guest list - the person on the other end was very polite and helpful. I called back again a week later just to check the booking and add another person to the group - and again the person was friendly and polite and it was no problem to make a little change to my booking.

When we arrived we were running a few minutes late (bloody weekend tubes) but the bouncers were very friendly and still allowed us to keep the booking - which offered QJump and £3.00 entry.
Once we got inside I thought the decor was great, completely 80s appropriate and the music was exactly what you'd want. The DJ did requests and shout outs, and the dance competition at midnight was really good!! I did participate but in the cold light of day I wish I hadn't!! loads of people dressed up, and the mood was really good. It was busy in places but there was no pushing or shoving - everyone had a good time.

£1 to check coats was very reasonable - again the staff were great.

There were a few members of staff just generally around, which I thought was very good for keeping areas clear, particularly the stairs / toilets.

Towards the end of the night one of my group was a bit worse for wear - the bouncers were exceptional in the way they dealt with the situation. They let us go outside for a while and then come back inside once he was feeling a bit more sober. They were very polite, helpful and most of all friendly!

Only 2 minor niggles - could do with a few more bar staff as service could be a bit slow, and it is a bit pricey. Although for London the prices aren't extortionate, they aren't the bargain prices advertised on the main website - I expect these are just special offers.

Would recommend and I am definitely planning another visit. (with more money in my pocket and less of a desire to humiliate myself in the dance competition...)

I went to this club with half a dozen friends for my birthday last weekend. Was not on the guestlist but only had to wait 15 minutes at 9.30pm. Friendliest door staff I have ever met, I have met a lot. Once in the 80's music was brilliant, cheap drinks and fantastic staff. Only had to pay £3 entry, which I thought was reasonable for the City. Very packed, but enjoyable. Dance competition at midnight was excellent. Wide age range there, was not just very young. Will definately be going back.

I went on Saturday with a group whose ages ranged from 20-50. After queuing for 25 minutes we then queued at the bar for another 30 minutes, however once drinks were sorted out the rest of the night was great. The music was good and the security was great especially adorable number 9! Helpful, friendly and fun and I was the 50 year old in the group!

The club itself does what it says on the tin - great nostalgic music, a dance floor that's lit up, cheap drinks and generally a laid back atmosphere. I went there for my 30th at the weekend, and had 40 friends in 80s fancy dress. The DJ played some brilliant songs and it was a really good night out. The dance competition at midnight was hilarious and got all the guests together to do a vocal vote on who won.

There are some howevers! The manager (Gary) really needs to sort out his phone manner. I booked the party a couple of months ago, and had about three phone conversations between an enquiry, booking and confirming some things about the booking. Every time I spoke to him he was 'too busy' to speak, sounding impatient and almost annoyed. He's got a captive market - this being the only place in London like it - so he doesn't have to try very hard to get the customers in, but customer service is all about giving people a good experience - so thumbs down for that I'm afraid mate. He told me my entry would be free as it was my birthday (it wasn't), and that we would all have party packs (we didn't).

I'd reserved some space from around 8.30 onwards - the booths were in a great place round the DJ and dance floor, but... how many nights out have you had where ALL your (40+) guests arrived at the same time? A few of my friends were given some real attitude by the doormen for turning up 'an hour' late, which was entirely unnecessary.

Finally - I really objected to being given a rationed amount of bog roll to sit on a (broken) toilet seat. Doesn't cost much to maintain basic facilities and having a lady in the loo handing out toilet roll is pretty embarrassing for all concerned.

Reflex has obviously got a great thing going - but customer service isn't really top of their list! I would go again, but not in a hurry.

it is so nice to go to a club / bar where the door men and security are really friendly and you don't feel like you are being ripped off - two v rare things in London! it cost £3 to get in although we were on the guestlist (a good idea as it does seem to get v busy!) the drinks were reasonable for london and it only cost a £1 to put your coat in - all v reasonable.
if it is cheese and a boogie you want this is the place to come! had a great night - some great 80/90's tunes made all the more enjoyable if you get in the spirit and dress up. would highly recommend this club on the friendly door staff alone!!

When we arrived at this club we where greeted very nicely from the bouncers,

once in the club we sat at our booth waiting 30 minutes for the champagne that was promised on arrival,

We had asked at the bar on 3 occasions for this and they didnt seem interested, once they decided to do it i realised it was not champagne at all it was fizzy Lambrini which to be honest is a liberty.

We was also promised party bags well we did not see these, i only booked this club as i had heard it was wicked.

To be honest i would not go again it is 2 hyped up and they let far 2 many people in you cant move. So the 2 stars go to the bouncers not the club.

LOVE.LOVE.LOVE This club!!!!

I went for a friends birthday, we managed to get on the guest list (just had to give them a call), we arrived and it was very busy but got in almost right away, I would recommend getting on the guest list as you will have a long wait otherwise!

The door security were a bit frosty at first but they were dealing with a bunch of 20yr olds trying to get in without ID, so don't blame them for looking miserable!

Once inside ALL staff were friendly and polite including the scary looking security guys. My friend thought that she had lost her bag, the security staff were great and went straight into action (luckily her bag was found).

I will absolutely be going back, it has a great vibe and everyone is up for a laugh, you also get people of all ages so no feeling too old which is great!!!!

Went to this club some weeks ago and great time was had by all. The drinks are not expensive at all, which came as a shock for a city venue. Going again next month. I would say to book in advance to avoid any disappointments. Got there at 8.30 which is extremely early for me but I heard the night gets going early. By 9.30 there was a long queue at the door.
The bouncers were nice (maybe we caught them in a good mood before the stampede started). Nice atmosphere, good venue, good 80s music (something from the 80s across different genres but mainly pop). A good place to let your hair down, have a laugh, close your eyes whilst singing to the tunes and feel like a teenager again lol. Why 4 stars? I've only been in there once. Let's hope the next time I go there my opinion will still be the same! ;)

I first visited reflex on 2nd Aug'08 I arrived on a warm summer evening to find there was no draught Lager/cider available! despite this we stayed & later on in the evening they seemed to find the draught?!

Strange...Is there more profit in selling bottle beer/cider? We visited another couple of times after that & nothing spectacular went wrong then last Saturday I went with a different crowd than I usually go with (On my recommendation of a fun night out) we arrived at 20:10 the queue was really long (I have never queued on previous occasions)

the bouncer at the front told us that the whole club was reserved to various parties that had booked in advance, I thought this to be ridiculous maybe book 70% to ensure trade but to book the venue to capacity seemed stupid to me,

we waited over an hour & eventually as parties did not turn up 1/2 an hour after there booked time they let groups of people in to the size of the non arriving party.

They do not charge you anything if you book and don't arrive, silly! When we got in, the place was near on empty! It did fill up very quickly though.

This Saturday I visited again with my usual crowd they had tried to book but been told they weren't taking any more bookings but that if we arrived before 930 we should be ok to get in,

we arrived at 20:55 & eventually gained entry at 22:30 My point here really is to say most people get dressed up to go Reflex which means they have spent money sometimes up to £100 or more on fancy dress only to have to queue in the cold for ages & not neccesarily gain entry as many just don't want to queue over an hour,

I think it is ridiculous & will certainly not be returning, I will also be warning anyone I know not to bother unless they have a firm reservation.

I wonder If the Management of Reflex read this hopefully they will sort it out. Book up to 70% & say "Get here early to assure entrance" then it is in

had good and bad nights in this place, many reviews state that the bouncers are a*******s, but that thats the same wherever you go, dont need many braincells to be one do you

Drinks are reasonable although venue can get pretty packed due to its size and bar staff have come across to be miserable at times

If you are planning on going best to get in and stay there, there used to be a charge to get in after 9pm asume its still in place, the fact there is always a long cue outside before 9 cant be a coincidence.

not been on a saturday but work in the city and know there can be a few twats at times on fridays, but pretty much chav free

I had my hen night there last night and thought it was great. It would have had 5 stars but for the fact that because we arrived a little late, we didn't get all the seating I had reserved, BUT was compensated by the staff with bubbly for everyone.

Looks like on a Saturday, get there well before 9.30 and you'll be OK, as from then on the queue is long - even better, book up at least a month before and walk straight in!

It's a small club, but the music does exactly what it says on the tin, lots of cheesy stuff. It didn't smell, (as some reviews have said), and the bar prices were average (£9.50 for a jug of cocktail, for example).

Lots of glitterballs, UV lights and 80's stuff everywhere - also, most people went dressed for the occasion and got right into the spirit of things.

Yes it's busy, yes it's tacky, but that's exactly what you'd expect! Go along with the right expectations and you'll have a ball.

I've read a few reviews here and am surprised. First of all the 80's was not a crap era, it was a damn site better than it is now in almost every respect. It's the easiest club to get to in london and this isn't the only 80's club I've been to but I thought by far the best and the most authentic.

It's a small club and we got there at 9pm and there wasn't a queue at all on a Saturday night. If you're moaning about the queuing, don't turn up at midnight! I didn't have any contact with the bouncers so I can't comment on that. The music is very cheesy which is what you'd expect.

And because there isn't any chav music, there aren't any chavs in it! Yay! It's a trade off you make, chavs or old men. No dress code from what I could see but the guys who collect empty glasses did smell a lot of old musty curry. Why are people moaning about it being expensive, it's free to enter you fools!

Even with the train fair and the travelling, it was cheaper and with no queuing took less time to get in than my local clubs which are fighting brawling chavvy scum hummer shite clubs. I would go there again for sure! As I say, I can't comment on the bouncers but as a general rule bouncers are more trouble than they're worth and are glorified doormen.

If you want to have a good night there make sure: get yourself on the guest listturn up early enough to get indon't leave the club unless you have been stampeddon't talk to the bouncersit's free to enter so of course the drinks are going to be dearer so expect it.if you don't like 80's music, don't go in!

Celebrated my 20th bday in this venue which were on friday and overall did have great night. There's about at least 20 of us in mixed groups on gueslist but arrive at different hours and guarantee entry as long provided with correct i.d. Therefore I would recommend to sort the gueslist by person or club promoter not through online coz totally unreliable. I must say the club isnt bad at all but unfortunately slight disappointed with the music...mixed with everything. drinks quite expensive so have one before going at this place. Dress code casual smart with white clean trainers if decided to wear one. This is actually over 21's club which specifically describe on the website but advice anyone if younger than this age then get there early as possible with appropriate i.d strictly passport or driving licence, otherwise bouncer will definitely refuse entry. Usually on saturday this club get overcrowrd with students and prefer to mixed groups. On the weeked can sometime difficult to get if name on the gueslist and turn up very late.

Despite putting in a booking for a triple birthday party of 50 people over three weeks in advance, I was contacted 2 days before the event to be advised that I should have booked 3 months in advance (not indicated on their website) and that they were unable to accept the booking due to high demand. This has left me in a very frantic last minute dash to find an alternative venue, which as you can imagine is proving impossible.
I will not be organising any further events with Reflex as their overall ignorance has left me in a difficult situation and I was made to feel like I had made the mistake!
In short, rubbish!

Bit of a weird one as have been here twice and had totally different experiences. Came here on a Saturday for a friend's bday bash. As you would expect for the city at the weekend it was deserted when we walked in but slowly filled up as the night continued. The crowd were chilled out and all up for a good time. With the silly wigs and accessories there's no room for pretentions & everyone just gets down to some cheesy boogieing on the dancefloor. Drinks are cheap, bar staff friendly and fast and for somewhere in central London thankfully hardly any sleazy men! As its an 80s club the crowd also tends to be a bit older.

However, after having had such a good night that time we decided to go back but this time on a Friday. It was one of the worst nights out I have ever had - full of city boys and arrogant twats. The atmosphere could not have been more different. Basically the opposite of what I just described. Also had to queue for ages and the bouncers were rude. There were a lot of other disgruntled customers there too. I'd never go back on a Friday and wonder if I just got lucky the first night I went there.

Reflex is a mad mix of full on cheese music, crazy outfits, absurdly drunken people and 'slightly older and dirtier than should be allowed' men.
But I should point out now I had a fabulous night!
Fair enough, I would suggest more than a few drinks to help you get into the mood but once you start queuing at the bar to buy crazy glasses and David Hasselhoff pants, you know you are truely in the spirit of reflex!
I would not recommend this night spot if you want a pulling session (the men are certainly not tall, dark and handsome), or if you want to pull an all-nighter (it closes at 2am) but, you know what??? Reflex is a hell of a lot of fun!!!!

Had a birthday bash there completely ruined by the door staff. A friend went out for a smoke, and the girl on the door didn't stamp him on his way out, and so he was refused entry back in.

Another friend of mine went out to try and sort out the situation, and he himself was banned from coming back in. After getting a phone call from one of my friends to say they couldn't come back in, I myself went out to find out what was going on, and then found myself also banned.

This all happened within the first hour of being there, and nobody was drunk. I am 36 and have never seen such poor behaviour.

It's a real shame to have to write a bad review, but the whole experience ruined my birthday and the weekend.

I'll never set foot in Reflex again. Only because the bouncers are the most arrogant pigs I have ever come across. My friend had been in the bar downstairs from 6pm and had to make an urgent call so went upstairs by the front door to get signal on her mobile. The bouncers would not let her back in saying how could she prove she had been in there all night. The fact that she had one of their party hats on and had no jacket on wasn't even enough proof. A lone female stuck on her own. The ginger haired bouncer should be sacked. All we wanted was a good time and this was ruined by this man! Good customers lost to another bar!

Once you get past the bouncers at Reflex it's a really good night, if a little packed, but it starts to thin out a bit by 11.30ish. The music is pure cheesy 80s, with the odd late 70s and early 90s thrown in for good measure.

There's not really an offical dance floor that I could see but everyone just seemed to be doing there thing where they were, plus there's a pole dancing stage if you fancy a go! All in all, Reflex is a top night!

Reflex is quite possibly the worst club I have been to in London. The door policy was a joke, the bouncers didn't have a clue and neither did the manager running the door. I queued for 45 minutes on a Thursday night because of a one in one out policy, depsite watching groups of parties walk straight in.

Once inside Reflex there were hardly any bar staff and the ones there were didn't have a clue how to work a queue. I gave up after 20 minutes and left for somewhere that was recommended.
