Excuse me while I clear my throat. Ah thats better ... this club sucks! I was there on a nice Saturday evening/night. My friends were having a b'day party and our group of about 15 people were the only ones there. The dance floor was empty the whole time we were there.

Give this place a miss ... it has potential (nice venue) ... but complete rubbish.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!Went here for a friend's party and there were over 20 of us. I'd seen the pictures on the web and found it quite cosy. When we got there it looked great, the only problem there was hardly anyone there for a saturday night.Things then started to go from bad to worse. The music was really rubbish, especially when i was informed that they'd be playing different types of music. The food that we had ordered was appalling and tasteless. Then my boyf wanted to go out for some fresh air, it must have been around 12am, I went with him, and after a little while we decided to go back inside, only to be told by the bouncer that we couldn't enter as my boyf was feeling sick. Actually he was fine, only needed fresh air, it's better than him throwing up inside, I was so annoyed cause we'd all been spending quite a lot in the bar. The people at the door were so rude and patronising. Very unfriendly!! The bar staff looked like they should be somewhere else, they were moody!!We were so annoyed by their attitude that all 22 of us walked out...and what's worse they allowed us to walk out and didn't care that the bar was now ridiculously empty!!!! PLease DON'T go there. I saw the bad reviews online, but choose to ignore it, PLease don't ignore this!!!!

I can not tell you how much I do NOT recommend this venue! The staff are lazy, rude and couldn’t care less about getting constructive feedback!
When I made my reservation I asked three questions, Do you have table service- YES, Are you busy at 6pm on a Friday? YES , Can I reserve and area? YES. All three were proved to be wrong.
They do not do table service so in a totally empty venue (where the staff are stood behind the bar with there arms folded and chatting away with their backs to us) I have to serve my own table! I had to clear the table myself and I carry the drinks over to my own table and the empties back to the bar. I event collect my own bowl of olives that had been delivered from the kitchen, to the bar and just left there!
We ask for the music to be turned on as the silence is defining, we got absolute rubbish!!

We get the bill and they have the cheek to put service on the bill. When I ask when I when I was supposed to have received this service I am informed by yet another rude member of staff that I had “received all the drink I ordered”, so there for I should pay service charge. Service is for when you provide at least satisfactory service to a customer and we received nothing of the kind!
We had the worst evening and no- one gave a toss whether we had a good time or not.

I have been to Ruby Lo 3 times. the first 2 times were great - i even had my birthday party there with a massive bunch of people and we all had a fab time.
Now i went back yesterday for a friend's birthday and i have to say it was very dissapointing! especially the music. It was the same DJ (Jim) but he played only really bad music and really was not at his best. We all hoped the atmosphere was going to pick at some point, but people just started leaving really and by 1am the club was half empty. So change the DJ or get him to play better music and Ruby Lo would have been great.
And special mention for the super friendly bouncer Achim, he always has a nice word for us.
And last comment: beware of the french staff there... good looking but toxic!

I am going to Ruby Lo for the first time tonight and from what I read below, you guys have got me slighty worried. I been to so many bars and, yes, some bouncers can be really rude. I think I went to Ruby Lo last year for a punjabi night and I had a good time. I think nowadays bouncers are very fussy about who they let in.

I went to Sway bar a few weeks ago and the bouncer there was really helpfull. I was not on the guest list and he didn't charge me at all.

We went to Ruby Lo for my friends party, and after waiting 20 minutes on the guest list we saw a customer being kicked out for insulting the doorstaff. The poor doorman after trying to explain the club rules decided to kick her out for, then five minutes later the manager arrived and decided to let this girl in!

She queue jumped us and we had been waiting for 30 minutes! The doorman told us it was the club rules and there was nothing he could do about it! I don't recommend Ruby Blue at all.

I stumbled across Ruby Lo the other week by accident. I must say it was like a hidden gem to me! The price after 10pm was a reasonable £5.00 and refreshingly the staff there were friendly, without the obnoxious behaviour so common in nightclub staff in London.

Ruby Lo was chilled, with a relaxed atmosphere and I got a nice, lounge seat to sit on too. I will go again definitely.

I chose to celebrate my birthday at Ruby Lo this year and I'm glad that I did! My mates and I had a great time! I rang earlier in the week to reserve a table, which was free with no minimum spend.

We went on a friday and have to admit it was a slow start - 10pm and hardly anyone was dancing. But then the strangest thing happened - I went upstairs to make a phone call and by the time I came back down the bar was filled with people dancing!

Overall, the music at Ruby Lo was good, bar staff were friendly and the place was not over-packed, which is just what you need when you want a good boogie!

Had a very cool night at Ruby Lo on Friday last week. Even though the place was busy the cocktails came fast and were great. Ruby Lo was not bad value for the West End either.

Went to Ruby Lo for a friend's birthday. We had a great area behind the DJ reserved which apparently didn't cost a thing. The bar was busy, the drinks well made, the staff approachable and the music decent. A refreshing change for a West End venue. Definitely will be back to Ruby Lo!

I have to disagree, I have been down to Ruby Lo a couple of time over the last month and had a great time, the service and drinks are excellent and the music is always spot on. I would highly recommended Ruby Lo for a Friday or Saturday night out.

We decided to catch up with friends at Ruby Lo, and due to them both being members, we all got in for free. The music was loud and I think the DJ was having a hard time keeping his set together, not sure if that was because of the girls jumping and bumping his table or due to a group of guys who thought it was funny to reach over and scratch the record.

Other than that - Ruby Lo is nice, would be perfect for a private party. The Bar staff were nice and the presentation of the drinks was perfect. It was not a good choice for catching up old with friends, but would be excellent for a girl’s night out.

Ruby Lo was a waste of time. The door staff were very rude. When not able to find our names on the guest list, one of our party had to go downstairs and find our friend and while this was going on, we were asked to stand outside. There was no one else going in or going out the whole time.

Once they had spent five minutes finding our names we got in. The bar was rather nice, the music was good, but there was not enough room to dance. The drinks were good and very strong, but the bar staff were extremely slow. The evening was written off by the surliness of the Ruby Lo staff.

Ruby Lo was truly awful - the doorman was extremely rude as were the bar staff. Having been told that it was guestlist only event (despite having a larger female proportion to my group), I was then told that we could enter at the price of £15 per person. Once in, we found the music was highly questionable as were the drinks prices.

As a cigar smoker I enjoy a good cigar with a good whisky, however at midnight I was told that cigars were not allowed in the establishment despite having been smoking them since 9pm. This I feel is a ridiculous policy as I am a paying patron like anyone else (albeit extortionate) and I felt cheated. I highly recommend that you do not choose Ruby Lo for your night out as you will leave very unsatisfied.

Saturday night I meet with a long lost friend and all went well at Ruby-Lo. The music was different to mainstream with some Funk and old school Hip Hop to start, then some contemporary to finish. Drinks were reasonably priced and well mixed and I never had to wait long.

Ruby-Lo was not overcrowded due perhaps to their stringent guest list policy - make sure you get the numbers rights if you are taking a group! The crowd was trendy but unpretentious and you soon get chatting to others. I recommend Ruby-Lo for a fun night out in a pleasant decor.

The doorman at Ruby Lo was extremely rude. I was on a guest list and I told him so but he didn't even ask for my name. Didn't look at the guest list. Told him the name of the person who put me on the guest list, he told me there was no guest list under that name so I had to pay to get in. I get in, tell my friends what's happened, they tell me I was on the list. The guy comes round, we tell him the story, we go and see the guest list and my name was there. Guy gives me back the tenner and tells me I can't go back in?! Ask to speak to the manager and he says he IS the manager. Would you be a manager of a place and be outside in the freezing cold?? Ruby Lo was okay but doorman will make me not go there ever again.

Ruby-Lo is my sure favourite on a Tuesday night and has wicked dancers. The hip hop they play is impressive as it's not too commercial. The music gets a bit mainstream later in the evening but I suppose they have to cater for everyone's tastes. I went to Ruby-Lo for cocktails on Saturday and that was also an impressive night with a great atmosphere. At Ruby-Lo you feel really cut off from the usual West End nonsense. I love this place!

Do not consider Ruby-Lo for a party. We had a function there at the end of March '05, for which we had booked in January. We were told that there would be an area for 45 of us and that our guests would simply have to mention the party name at the door. What we were not told was that there would be a cover charge after 9pm. Unfortunately, our (sober and well-mannered) guests were not allowed in later in the evening. This was allegedly due to capacity having been reached (doubtful, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt). What really, really made us angry was that as a basement club, none of our guests could phone us to say they were stuck outside and were not allowed to come in to let us know they were waiting. Finally the jumped-up chavette on the door allowed one person down at about 11pm "for 2 minutes" to deliver a birthday gift. It was only then that we realised that there was a large group of our guests stuck outside. Had we been able to find another venue at 11pm, we would have moved our party of 50 elsewhere. Having said all that, the music was good and the bar staff were great. Pity about front of house - one idiot ruined our night.

Great, great music and nice crowd but the drinks are a complete rip off with watered down cocktails and spirits and flat soft drinks. Complain! Contrary to other reviews I thought the door staff were fantastic but the bar staff a shower of wannabees!

Ruby Lo is the most overrated establishment in West London. It's the size of a shoebox & they pack you in so that you're hot and sweaty with your make up sliding down your face within 5 minutes. The staff are arrogant, rude & in need of customer service training. The music is hit & miss, often relying on the back catalogue of Michael Jackson, refusing to play requests & basically making no attempt to please the crowds. Spend your money elsewhere!

Tuesday nights at Ruby-Lo (The Joint) are the best place to be in london, without a doubt. Full of regulars, seriously cheap entry and the breakdancing skills are amazing. There's even a little bit of mainstream hip hop (think Kelis, Beyonce, N.E.R.D) for girly dancing. It's a great location, and the bouncers are totally laid-back. Just be careful when trying to walk to the bar when the (buff) dancers are on the floor - flailing limbs and feet!

Went to Ruby Lo on Saturday 24th July and was was blown away with the quality of the venue and the music. The night was called Moving and Shaking and was a regular monthly night by a group of guys called Movers N Shakers. The Music was first rate US house with a bit of full on funky disco built in.

The crowd was jumping from the time I got there. Good prices on the drinks and a great range of cocktails to chose from. Well worth a visit and if you can try and catch the Movers and Shakers guys there, wicked night!

Having been once before, arranged to meet for another party. Pity about the door staff when there was trouble caused by a party beside us. The bouncers decided to take the girl's story over ours (because there were more guys in my party). And I'm saying this as a female observer! So, if you have a person with attitude beside you, be warned! The close seating arrangements could cause trouble for you.

Would be great if it wasn't for the incredibly rude door staff! Honestly, don't bother. Nobody needs to take this much attitude. Stay well clear is my advice.

Ruby-Lo; The joint : Buzzing atmosphere with people who know how to dance (in other words if you can't, don't...). Breakdancers throughout the night keep things busy and full of regulars. A cheap, satisfying night out.
