The ViewLondon Review
A fully nude, table dancing club situated near the city, the East Smithfield location of the Secrets franchise provides alcohol and personal dancing for bonus-heavy city workers.
The Venue
Two minutes from Tower Hill station, and not far from Canary Wharf and the Excel Centre, Secrets Four provides negotiated female dancing in a discreet environment. Situated down a flight of stairs, and past a wall of photos of ladies in various states of undress, the club is made up of a series of tables and booths positioned around a main pole dancing stage. A more secluded VIP lounge is situated behind the main seating area, and larger, but slightly less private, champagne booths are located to the left of the stage. Large groups of up to 15 to 20 people can easily be accommodated in the Champagne booths and there’s no need to book ahead, unless you’re planning to visit around the busy period at Christmas. The main bar can be found towards the back of the venue, but table service is really the order of the day.
The Atmosphere
Secrets is, unsurprisingly, all about the table dancing – sit at any booth or table and you will immediately be approached by one or more of the girls. For the most part the girls are polite and not too pushy, and the general atmosphere is fun and excitable. Everything is discreetly monitored, and the different sections of the club provide different levels of privacy depending on the tone of the evening.
Secrets offers something for the both the stag do crowd and the after work city businessmen that make up the majority of its clientele. The club manages to largely stay away from the seediness that could so easily envelop it.
The Music
An in-house DJ plays tunes for the girls to dance to, and while obviously different girls prefer different music, some music choices can be a bit baffling. The DJ clearly has to cater for all the different musical tastes of the dancers, and while the effect can be a little jarring at times nobody is really coming here for the music, are they?
The Drink
The drinks list is predictably expensive, with the champagne list verging towards astronomical. Cocktails are available, with the emphasis firmly placed on champagne cocktails. The bar also stocks various wines. Drinks are normally ordered at the table, and paid for by the round.
The Last Word
A clean, professional and well run table dancing club. If you’re going to pay money to watch ladies take their clothes off, this is a good and safe place to do it.
