Went to Shunt Saturday gone by accident and what a treasure chest to find! The place is really cool and wacky like a theatre, chilled out and friendly crowed, great music and even a seance happening below the dance floor - which you could view from the dance floor as it had see through blocks - eery but very cool. Recommend to all with open mind and want something different.

Absolutely my favourite venue in London, big shame it closes in a couple of weeks. Every week the place is different.

The long tunnel and accompanying damp smell make for a suitably gothic experience. Not much to choose from on the alcohol front although I find the spirits are always served very generously.

Have seen all manner of performances in here. Love the taxidermy room. Lots of dark corners and rooms to explore.

Basically, shunt is AMAZING, it was my first ever legal 'clubbing' (i use the term losely when concerned with Shunt as it is rather out of the ordinary) experience, i have never looked back and nothing in my opinion has ever topped it.

Considering the location and the sheer coolness of the place the drinks are cheap (shot +mixer= approx £3.50).

It is a far cry from pretentious west end clubs that, quite frankly, make me want to gag upon entry.

I also think anybody who loves drama/ the theatre should go because the performance art is... well beyond description, just weird, but cool.

I have been countless times and I love the place.

I'm a big fan of Shunt. I have been going for a couple of years now, and have always had a great time.

But last time my friend and I had a bit of a bad experience with the 'Bouncers' at the smoking door.

RUDE is an understatement ! This is not a Good Look Shunt.

Shunt is amazing, don't knock it till you've tried it, my boyfriend took me there on a date back in november and i had a blast. You get great live music, and it has a cute little bar. It had an amazing way of capturing your mind when you first enter. It may look creepy and damp at first but its all for effect, and the candles add to the atmosphere, it keeps your eyes entertained throughout the night. It has a chilled and relaxed atmosphere, like your front lounge, there a sense of freedom coz you don have to do what everyone else is doing. you know just chill and chat, dance and drink, play pool or the piano. its serious chill out, you can do all the things that would get you kicked out of other clubs here. Im going again this weekend and i shall update all you clubbers about it!

Been once, its great when you get in - think acrobats, snake charmers, pastiche bands, poster paints, papier machee, but, having turned up to queue from 20h00 twice to still not get in before the 22h00 non-members deadline, to be honest, do you really want to plan your whole night around queuing from 19h00 onwards or even 18h00 to maybe or maybe not get in at 22h00? Its vast inside, absolutely cavernous, so why the wait?

what's happened to the spontaineity in london? everyone is so prescriptive. the trouble with shunt is that nowhere else is like shunt, so everyone gravitates there since its time out entry in 2008 - it would be good if london were more like berlin and people in seach of something different didn't feel forced to head to just one venue. in short - great if you're happy to turn up at 18h00 and wait for thing to start happening at 23h00 - for those who are less programmatic - you might want to look for your ents somewhere else.

Hmmm, Shunt is an odd little place. I loved the setting, at first, but then it gets a bit too uncomfortable with all those candles and what feel like school chairs. Shunt's great for arty people who like the shows but I'm not sure what normal people will think of it.

Would you place yourself as abnormal then, seeing as you're rather keen on what 'normal people' will think of the venue?

Perhaps the candles are a little too much for you my friend.. I suggest a night in with a hot water bottle and a bag of worthers originals should be more suited!
