Im so sick of reading reviews from people who are NOT students, the woman who talks about taking colleagues out is an office worker who should stop living in the past. Im glad she had a bad time as its for STUDENTS. I now vow to check out every single place in my gap year and give feedback from a real students point of view.
Used to be one of my fav places in Shoreditch, but after a very disappointing Saturday on 7 July 2007, I can honestly say from now on I'll spend my cash somewhere else.
We went to T Bar for a colleague's farewell when at about 10pm, we get told one of our other colleagues couldn't gain entry as he wasn't a regular or on the guest list. At first we spoke to the manager who replied: 'if the doorman didnt select him, then he isn't coming in!'
Then over the period of an hour 4 other of our colleagues were refused entry, with Chris the doorman saying: 'sorry they aren't the right kind of people..'. So those that of us (about 15 peeps) who according to employees of the T Bar are the right kind of people as we gained entry, left and met up with our other mates and headed to Mother at 333 where we had an absolutely fantastic evening.
So no more T-Bar for me and have taken myself off their mailing list. My verdict: the T Bar should've stayed closed down, there are many other places to spend one's cash in Shoreditch.
T Bar is, in one word, formidable! It's my best bar in London! Damian was just incredible Monday, the people looked good and the boss of T Bar is very friendly...
I went to T bar on a Friday night with a group of friends. It was extremely crowded and the crowd were slightly unfriendly. I'd recommend being very careful if you go to T Bar.
Went to the August bank holiday weekend 2003 Party in the Tea building just before it was sold (3 days of do what you want) and it was perfect. I went to the bar bit of T Bar three weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. No queue, no door fee, cheap drinks, untouched interior - apart from a bit of a spruce up in the bar area, 2am licence, good dance floor and fantastic toliets.
The T Bar offers what Shoreditch is famous for - easy private partying. All the other bars are now empty as everyone goes there, with good reason.
I thought the T Bar was awful, the music was really bad skipping from Techno to 80's cheese, toilets are rank and the place is smelly and dirty. I've got nothing against the raw, underground warehouse look but the T Bar is taking the P. Don't waste your dosh!
I work in T Bar and I just felt obliged to put a post up in defence of our staff! If we seem moody or less than bursting with fruit flavour, I can assure you it is not because we think we're too trendy or arrogant to be serving our customers drinks, but probably because we're a bit tired at the end of a 10 hour shift in a very busy venue. I always endeavour to be friendly and polite and provide good customer service, and it upsets me that just because a venue is 'trendy', people decide any tired seeming member of the bar staff is automatically rude and supercilious! In my unbiased opinion (ahem) I think we're all lovely at the T Bar!
T Bar is sometimes ok, othertimes awful. I wouldn't recommend it the T Bar.
