My favourite spot in London has to be this only because of its music and vibe. Every time I come here, I enjoy more!

My friends and I went out for a well-earned girls night out. The food was great, the atmosphere was second to none and the music was fab. We danced what felt like all night, the DJ kept the tempo going and the waitress kept the drinks coming. There aren't many places that you can stay all night and feel completely entertained - cocktails, dinner, dancing and live music. Amazing night that will be hard to top.

I would love to say this place was amazing..but that would be a lie. Not bad food wise but the management let this establishment down. The cocktails were a tad overpriced (and I'm not afraid to pay for a good drink). I was surprised by the venue as it's like going through a maze which then opens up into a medium sized floor. My friend had pre-booked a table for 10 people for 9:30pm. We arrived in good time and was told that our table was being prepared "4 minutes"..after 20 minutes, it got tiresome. Longest 4 minutes ever. We were eventually seated in a corner with low seating and lower tables which made a pregnant member of our group uncomfortable.
We were handed the pink menu (£15 per head with an apparent discretionary 12.5% charge on top). As there wasn't much to choose from, we asked to see the full menu. We were unimpressed with the choices and so reverted back to the pink menu. Our waitress was the only redeeming factor to our visit here. She was patient and above all made us feel looked after. Our starters arrived in good time and were tasty. 10 minutes (or so later), our mains arrived with a bit of a mix up which was promptly rectified and finally dessert. Whilst we were still eating, a promotions team were there and made me feel rushed to eat my food (risking indigestion..not good at any time, worse after spicy food). Constantly looking over at the table we were seated at. We were then approached by a security guard who asked if we were finished..the answer being no. He then told us that they needed the space. As paying customers, we weren't expecting to feel rushed. We were then approached 5 minutes later and asked the same thing. As we had refused to pay the "discretionary" 12.5% charge, we refused but wanted to leave a tip for the waitress. My friend was asked "are you going to pay it or not" by a rude manager. My friend replied "no" at which point we were asked to leave..the bouncers then proceeded to strong arm us out...

Despite asking to go in and get a jacket, a bouncer told me quite forcefully that I had to wait upstairs but wouldn't listen to reason. He then placed his hands on my partner who wasn't aggressive but was asking to go in and get his jacket.

I went upstairs with my friends while another friend was trying to find someone higher up to speak to. Although I don't know what was said, I can imagine it was to do with the terrible customer services we had been witness to. It would appear that management need further courses or need to find a new career if they can't take the pressurised position that they have been given. A lot of other established restaurants in the West End give better service under more pressure.

A poor mans Embassy, but with Embassy prices. Will never ever go back and I will be telling a friend. As for the customer relations replies on here - shame you weren't around to improve relations when it matters most.

This party was aggressive towards staff the moment they arrived at the restaurant. They were served a great value £15 for 3 courses menu and enjoyed their evening. They again became aggressive when the bill was presented to them. Because Tamarai converts to a club after the restaurant, we are obliged to evict aggressive patrons to protect staff and other patrons.

Thank you

I find it interesting that we were deemed to be aggressive from the moment we got there since we were meant to be seated at 9:30 and we were patient enough. I'd be interested to know what action came across as aggressive since the manager made us feel stupid for asking when we were going to be seated.

As for aggression when the bill arrived, I think you need to rethink that comment. There was no aggression until we were physically moved by bouncers who seemed to be full of self importance. We wanted to leave a tip for our waitress and not a collective tip for a service we didn't believe that we had received.

The food was good, but that's this places only saving grace. Unless you enjoy being treated as a second class citizen and not able to ask fundamental questions as to the waiting time..be sure to go here! you'll enjoy it.

Shame this customer relations team wasn't available when needed really.

Trust me check all the many various bad reviews that state similar cases. This place does not value your custom at all. Any quality establishment would not overbook in a hope they will make more money. The bouncers could not give us a reason for asking us to leave. The managers are ignorant, rude and this is why we asked the waitress to take the charge off and we would give it to her. If this is aggressive exercising my consumer rights then I'm aggressive.

They have posted many malicious 'reviews' because they were lawfully evicted because of their unacceptable behaviour in a licensed premises.

One good thing was the food although my local Thai restaurant is just as good in that respect. Our party of 8 arrived on time and were told to wait at the bar and no one approached us until after half an hour when we were finally seated. Every time I asked if they knew how long it was going to be I got told it would be ready in a minute and brushed off. Having checked the website and seen bad reviews I saw that they have a discretionary 12.5% charge and on the main dinner menu. When our waitress came over she gave us the set menu which surprised me as on their website this says it is not available at the time we were there. Before we got the bill I asked the waitress to not not add any charges and we would sort her out a cash tip as she had been great. She said we had to pay so I spoke with the manager. He basically said "are you going to pay it or not" and I said no but I wanted to give the tip to the waitress who deserved it. We were then approached by the bouncers after paying the bill to leave. My friend asked them why they were doing this and they couldn't even tell us! So it's obvious because we didn't pay the charge. If the mgr even tries to say they offer another menu as a response please note only when I asked to see it as I had seen the website so knew this. Otherwise we would have just had the set menus and been none the wiser, no alternative was offered. Rude managers, left waiting, would have got more money out of us but chose to eject us over 12.5 % which I would have happily given to the waitress which we did. I highly recommend Thai silk in Greenwich lovely service, good food, better value for money and exactly the same restaurant club format. Avoid this place. And this review is accurate!

This is really a "no star" rating restaurant -unfortunately I cannot remove the last star. My husband and I went to Tamarai because we had a special offer with bookatable it was £30 (which we paid in advance)a person for 3 courses. After reading the restaurant website reviews it seemed this was a very good deal. Once arriving at the restaurant the staff were unsure which menu to give us so this is the one they offered us:first couse 'spring roll'main course 'thai Chicken Curry'dessert 'sorbet'we were shocked as we thought we should have at least 3 different choices on a restricted menu. So we queried this. In vain they said this was the menu. Bitterly dissapointed we left the restaurant as we knew we could do better else where although we had already paid for the dinner. Tamarai missed a trick here as we were about to order a bottle of champagne plus some cocktails. So they would have had additional money from us on that night. I was also surprised as the restaurant was fairly empty. With this in mind I would advise anyone not to go for any offers via another website as there appears to be communication problem between them and the restaurant. As for going there normally it would not appeal to me. It is very dark you cannot read the menu. And the staff are unhelpful. Best give it a miss unless you are very drunk before going so you miss those finer details! From a very disappointed diner.

This review does not state facts. This guest had paid £20 for 3 courses menu through bookatable (not £30). Tamarai offered a limited set menu at this price. The menu offers a choice of two starters, two mains and two desserts and not what the guest has written. This menu was available for guests to see before they made this booking. We have had hundreds of guests who appreciated the fantastic value and 3 courses of great food that was offered under this heavily discounted deal. We understand if someone does not like a particular set menu even though they booked for a deal after seeing the menu. So we asked bookatable to refund this guest's deposit as they did not want to have this set menu. The deposit was immediately refunded. The management spoke with this guest and explained all of the above and the fact that at this price we were offering great value that was appreciated by others who booked under this offer.

Thank you

It always amazes me the quality of drinks these guys make under such pressure, with such an extensive menu. My group of friends and I go quite a lot and we always have a good night - there is always a great atmosphere, the bar team clearly having a good time! They seem pretty reasonable given the quality and in comparison to other less enjoyable, pretentious venues I've been to! The music is always faboulous and the food is damn good.Looking forward to enjoying some more summer evenings enjoying a cocktail or two!

Tamarai has something great to offer every weekend, i came to know about it through facebook when a friend suggested me to like its page, interesting offers for their pan asian meals and the best part are the club nights. Me and my frnds went to the music healing night on Friday n that turned out to be a night to remember with great musicians and awesum mixing by the dj's. We partied till the end of the night and had great fun.Looking forward to the upcoming club nights!

Pan-asian for me certainly means Tamarai, the place has everything- Indian, Chinese, Thai. You name it you got it! Simply loved the food, the aromatic hot thai coconut soup is amazing! Chicken spring rolls and Indian rice cake are good too, I am a big fan of their cocktail list. A little expensive for my liking but nonetheless if one can afford good taste, then why not! I am coming back with family the next time, not to miss place!
