Went here last Saturday Night. group of 12 girls and guys, all in our late 20's early 30's.Door Staff-Rude. expected. Promoter- arrogant.Food good, drinks ok, service crap. Crowd 19-25 just wanting to get drunk and fall over. Music was ok, i've heard better mainly Rnb which i like, Funky House which i like but the Dj's selection and mixing crap.Place to have a party NO!!!! Place to meet student types who think this is and exclusive venue YES!!!!Place has gone down hill. Shame.
We went to Tamarai last night and had an absolutely fantastic time. Friendly and attentive staff, amazing food and stylish surroundings. Would recommend to all.
Good Food, Good Service, Good surrounding, but all of this means absolutely nothing in comparison to the way my party and I were treated by the Management, who I might add displayed customer service skills of the very lowest standard I have ever seen in my many years of dining out.It was my cousins birthday and we were advised by phone and at the restaurant (by the staff) that we were not allowed to eat our pre-organized birthday cake within the restaurant as we would be infringing their health and safety policies, however we were allowed to present it to her so that, we can sing “happy birthday” while she’s blowing out the candles. At 11.30pm I had gone over to get the cake and I was very abruptly stopped and spoken to by the management in a very rude and aggressive nature that I could take not even take the cake out of the bag. If we had known this before we would of even had come to eat there, we continued to explain our situation to the manager that we were informed by your staff that we were allowed to present the cake, but he was very adamant that he would not let us even take the cake out of the bag.I understand that there are rules in place for a reason, but we were spoken to like we were nothing and we brought a party of 8 spending quite a fair bit of money, plus at 11.30pm the restaurant was empty. We brought the cake over to the table and surprised the birthday girl and had simply opened the box to show her, within 5 seconds we were approached by the very rude management who literally broke up our “happy birthday” song and advised that we put the lid on our cake. THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS VERY LOWEST!!!...I will NEVER be dining within a restaurant that has incompetent management like that.
Tamarai is a big hit within our group... we simply love going there. The look of the restaurant is very chic and the staff is also amazing!!... Surely recommend it to all those lookig to spend a great evening out.
Last Monday we went for a dinner to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Quite simply the food was amazing and the wine list spectacular. The service was friendly, attentive, genuine and professional. The deal available was the icing on the cake!!..
this place is becoming one big joke what people they want in there ?
security well what can i say telling my party to lower our voices or we can't come in moving us on at the end of the night behave if i wish to stand outside till 4 or 5 in the morning that's my choice call the police to move us on not security all of a sudden they got extra power think not
tamarai was a lovely place to go 6 mts ago security polite and i can understand what they were talking about but now power tripping even the stupid guestlists. host she needs to get out bit more checking names on a clip board not to important
tamarai sort this out or another west end club will go
Went to Tamarai last night and had one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had the misfortune to suffer. We were part of a large party and had been told in advance that we would therefore have to have the set menu. No problems, fair enough for a large group.
Due to some late arrivals we were not ready for our meals until 8:30 or so when some of us were given some of the starters, dim sum and duck spring roll. Not bad tasting although the portions were quite small. About half an hour later more starters were brought to our table, it turned out these were actually meant for the other table that was part of our group sitting right behind us who had not been served during that time. We had already eaten about half of these but the waiting staff didn't bother to top them up or bring new ones and gave them straight to the other table who had to take what were now half portions.
Roughly an hour after this (ie an hour and a half after being served our starters) the mains were finally brought out. Whilst I am told the seabass was actually quite nice the thai green curry was overly hot and there was not nearly enough rice to share properly between people.
Another hour or so after the mains had been cleared away we were brought the dessert, some sort of white chocolate ice cream which was tasty enough but quite frankly was at most enough for three quarters of a mouthful.
The fact that it took approximately three hours to be "served" a three course meal where everyone at the table was having one of three choices at most off a set menu was absolutely appalling. In particular for the mains where the three choices were the seabass, a thai green chicken curry or a thai green vegetable curry, the last two of which were presumably cooked up en masse. The starters and the dessert would also have been cooked up en masse so there was no excuse whatsoever for the length of time it took to get our meals.
This was while enduring one of the more overpriced
Very pleasant experience, we liked the atmosphere, the food was well presented and surprisingly tasty, all together it was well worth trying, especially with the offer on Tuesday evening. Was quite packed for a week night.
The ambiance of this restaurant is very good, however the service is extremely disappointing. To start with the door staff came across very rude and unwelcoming, once inside we were constantly harassed to order as they wanted the to take the table away to make space for a dance floor. The food arrived late and the head waiter was extremely rude and seriously lacked courtesy. I think Tamarai is in danger of becoming a tourist trap that does not care about repeat business. Also do not seem to grasp that a service charge should only be paid if the service was good! Would not recommend Tamarai to anyone.
DISGRACE! We went to Tamarai for my girlfriends birthday. -We were continuously harassed for our order by the waiting manager (even though no waiter would actually take our order!)-Main courses were put on top of our starters-We were provided cutlery after numerous requests -The main for one friend came out 45 minutes after everyone else We politely asked not to pay for the services charge. The response? Security were called and marched us out of the club!! 5 of the 7 in our party were girls and at no point were we rude. I cannot believe in this day and age that we would be embarrassed like that and my girlfriends birthday was ruined! DO NOT GO TO THIS place unless you like being treated like a criminal for politely asking a question. A course in customer service is strongly advised.
Went to celebrate a special occasion. Excellent service, excellent ambience and excellent food all combined to make a magical evening. I will certainly recommend this restaurant to friends and will be returning very soon
Poor service, staff were rude. Me and my friends wanted to go outside and have a smoke but on our return back into the club the bouncer very rudely stood infront of us and told us we cannot go inside because we dont have stamps to prove we have already paid, we were all astonished as he was the same guy who let us in at the start of the night, and we said yes we did pay he very rudely and agressively responded by saying "you are lieing to me so now u better get out my face, u aint coming in" if thats good service then you need start handing your staff some manuals and fast!!!! we were asked to pay again but luckily one of the staff reconised us, yet still we didnt get an apology from the extremely rude man. want a good night out without trouble and hassle? AVOID THIS CLUB!!!!!
Service was good and the food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner, will be back.

It's an amazing place. Lovely food in a very nice atmosphere . It's one of the best restaurant's that I've ever been.
Lovely restaurant amazing service and atmosphere.Tried the Chefs’ tasting Menu and with the offer it was a great value for money
We had a very good experience at Tamarai. The food was excellent and the service as well. We enjoyed a lot. We would definitely recommend it.
We had the set menu at Tamarai it was a great. Fantastic wine list and friendly staff in a dark interior, which gives it a club/ bar, feel. We are definitely going back.
I went to Tamarai with my friends last saturday. It was amazing. The whole night was great, we got there at 8 pm and stayed on for the night club, which was also so good, the music, the people, everything was just perfect.
I cannot stress how uterly disgusted i was with the level of service by both staff and more suprisingly the Manager at this very overpriced restaurant. Firstly our waiter was insistant on our ordering both our starters and main dish straight away having only given us two minutes to consider the menu. The menu itself offered very little. Our waiter came over to our table to clear our starters away whilst i was still eating. The restaurant turns into a club later in the evening. My friends and i had ordered a round of drinks and on two occassions our glasses were cleared away when they were still half full. We complained to a memeber of staff who seemed completely uninterested and asked to speak to the Manager. The Manager again offered no apology, dismissed our complaint and when we asked his name in order to make a formal written complaint refused to give his name. We carried on with the rest of our eveing and i was even more appauled to later see another member of staff again clear away a half full glass from another table without checking with diners.
