A secretive launch in late 2007 has attracted top brands to hold parties at the British Luxury Club, the last word in glamour, opulence and, well, luxury!

The Venue
Located at 70 New Bond Street, the British Luxury Club is within walking distance of Bond Street, Oxford Circus or Green Park underground stations, although the patrons invited to join this club are more likely to arrive in a Bentley or Ferrari (who happen to be one of this venue’s corporate partners). It’s not easy to find – the discreet doorway looks like an office entrance, so take note of the number and strut forward with confidence and some awfully good connections if you’re planning a night here.

It’s a good secret to be let in on, though – inside the venue is a stunningly cool midnight blue, with a white leather padded, Swarovski crystal topped bar, and comfortable Baroque style furnishings and fixtures in the discreet seating areas, all continuing the sparkly blue theme. The gawdy but fabulous crystal bar does dominate the venue, and rightly so – it’s breathtaking.

The Atmosphere
You absolutely need to be invited to a private function, on the manager’s guest list or invited to join as a member to get in, anything else will only lead to your embarrassment, not theirs! The staff aren’t snotty though – instead they want to bend over backwards to give their members and guests the night of their lives. Having held private parties for fashion magazine Luxure and film stars Jared Leto and Cuba Gooding Junior, the in-house team is well placed to know how to pull out all the stops for their clients, whether it be information on a new yacht or special decor to celebrate a special occasion. With all this on offer, it’s no wonder the crowd is totally A-list: expect titled aristos, the Hollywood elite and London’s classiest social butterflies here – and with this address, what else would you expect?

The Music
The British Luxury Club plays a funky, loud soundtrack of funky house tunes, dance hits and RnB beats, loud enough to keep everyone on their feet once it gets busy, though escaping into one of the nooks and crannies with comfy sofas guarantees enough quiet to sit and talk if that’s your preference. There’s really nothing invasive about the music at all – everything about this place evokes classic British qualities of refinement and dignity.

The Drink
Luxury means just that when it comes to alcohol. Top name spirits, including a wide range of cognacs, mean that drinks with a mixer cost up to a tenner, and cocktails around £15. A wide range of Champagne and wine are on offer, too, and don’t forget they all come from that crystal adourned bar, which makes the prices worthwhile all by itself.

The Last Word
The British Luxury Club has caused a stir among the A-listers without alerting too much tabloid attention. If you can get in, do – before it becomes old hat and the WAGs and Big Brother rejects arrive.
