Went here last week, and i thought it was fantastic! great layout and plenty of tables to shoot pool. Cocktails were great and at a very good price. Cool music and a great vibe from everyone. Cheers!
Good for a non pretentious place to meet with friends for a drink and to play a game of pool!. However do not go there for food!. Very basic menu of burgers, fries and nachos, with terrible service. I had a veggie burger for a change and got a pile of grilled veg in a bun and some bland fries!!.
A few of us girls had a what was meant to be a 'pre evening booze up' at the elbow rooms last week. A massive range of cocktails and spirits to indulge in. After only planning for a couple of games of pool and a drink or two, we settled with the great music and atmosphere for the rest of the night...
GREAT FUN!! See you again soon xx
Love The Elbow Room's!! there just cool...
I went with a couple of mates the other night, cant say im a big fan of pool but don't mind playing a little bit...(to try and beat the boys any way)
When we got there, there was a bit of wait as some people had pre-booked tables before?? but any who waited about half an hour which was fine, had a few drinks, ordered some food then played some pool.
I like the atmosphere as its just relaxed and chilled and thats all you need on a weekend out, or after work, nice cold beer, few friend and some pool.
LOVE IT!

I went to this place last week and had such a wicked night! We pre-booked a table as a work do and found it worked really well as something a bit different to do rather than just dinner then drinks. It was really busy but we had table service so our drinks were topped up all night! The food was pretty good too, the usual thing you would expect like burgers and nachos. We have booked to go again next month!
I visited this venue on Friday last week and found it only maybe a quarter full and completely lacking atmosphere. And a few other gripes/issues:
I said hello to the doorman on the way in - no response.
Despite being very empty I heard someone being told there was an hour and a half wait for pool (even though there seemed to be a table or two free).
One of the bar staff displayed absolutely zero sense of humour when the (admittedly very drunk) customer next to me at the bar asked - how much for cash ? - surely they should be used to dealing with such comments with a little humour ?
Nothing awful but I won't be returning. Maybe it's the location that doesn't work for this venue, or maybe recession has hit, but something is not right.
Wow had an amazing time with my girl friends whom i hadn't seen for such a long time, didn't really focus on the pool but sat in the bar which is separate from the pool tables.
We had fun sampled some cocktails and enjoyed the music and chatted to new people.
What made it super cool was the sexy bar tenders whom gave good service and where so easy to chat too.
I recommend this place to anyone in the area of Shoreditch.
There are many good down to earth bars and this is one.
Oh yeah they have pool tables as well ha ha forgot about those

i visited the Elbow Room for the first tI'me last week and found it too be very pleasant, really enjoyed the music and the vibe.
Service was fine and the prices very reasonable indeed.
i would recommend this place to new friends. i went with a old friend whom says that the place has been around for a while and used to be really popular, but admitted it had improved over the last year.
i will be back when im in London again
I went and had shocking service, it really isn't that hard to sort out. Muppets!
Disgusting customer service. Went in on a wednesday night and asked if it was £6 for an hour. We were told yes both times we asked. When it came to pay we were then told it was £10 for an hour by the same person, who oughtright lied that she told us it was £10 per hour. We were charged £10.40 (apparently we overran, even thogh the manager came over and gave us a five minute warning, then immediately turned the light off above the table which effectively meant we had to stop because we could no longer see the table). Disgusting customer service. You have to put a deposit down or put your credit card behind the bar before so they think this gives them the right to do whatever they want, and you are then intimidated into accepting the bully tactics. The bar is one of those places that smells of stale sick that was previously hidden by cigarette smoke before the ban came in.
I visited it last night to meet with an old friend and play pool and, after an hour's wait, got a table. After only 40 mins of playing, the manager came to our table with an extremely aggressive manner and shouted at us that we had used our hour and had to get off. It was only after we repeatedly insisted that we were only 40mins into our hour that the manager acknowledged that we were right, where previously he had claimed we "could look at the computer and see we'd been on 1hr if we liked". It seems that we had called his bluff on that.
Once this had been acknowledged, we were told that we had to get off anyway as it was booked and the extremely aggressive and confrontational manager - to the point of almost squaring up to us - almost seemed to suggest this was our fault.
We were eventually given what time we had spent on the table for free but this means nothing to us. If I had merely wanted to save the money, I would not have gone there and would not have got a taxi there. But I did, and that was to play pool.
I am therefore angry about a number of things. Firstly, the Shoreditch Elbow Rooms' manager's attitude is extremely confrontational to the point of almost carrying a suggestion of violence. Secondly, he tried to con us out of an hour's table time when it was, as he was forced to acknowledge, half this. And finally, if Elbow Room have bookings then it is clearly a simple task to accomodate these into other people's table use. If there had been a booking, then it was obvious that we would not have the hour, but we were told we would have then treated like dirt and kicked off the table after 40 mins. The manager's tone also suggested we were to blame for the cock-up.
I am really annoyed about our experience and will never set foot in an Elbow Rooms again.
Intimidating on the outside as the windows just show men in dark rooms playing pool as if they were extras in The Long Good Friday - but there's more to it than that. It's a great club with a good vibe, check it out.
