The Hospital offers a haven for all Covent Garden’s hard-working creative types, whether their idea of relaxation is a drink in one of the lively bars, a quiet meal for two in the restaurant, or a game in the unique surround sound X Box centre.

The Venue
Located a few minutes walk from Covent Garden tube - on Endell Street - The Hospital is housed in a Victorian redbrick former hospital with a huge double-sized glass door beckoning your entrance.

Once inside, this unassuming building houses TV and recording studios (Strictly Come Dancing is filmed here), an art gallery, library, two restaurants, three bars and a cinema, plus private screening and meeting rooms. The decor is fun and creative, including everything from embroidered wallpaper to stark white spaces and comfy sofas to functional glass block seating. There’s even a dedicated games room with an X Box Centre featuring a unique surround sound system.

The Atmosphere
The Hospital is a private members club for entrepreneurs in the music, media, film and creative fields and there is a buzz of quiet enterprise here, which stems from the number of private and corporate events the venue caters for.

The staff are fashionably dressed in a bohemian Covent Garden style, in keeping with the creative ethos of the club. They carry out their duties with Teutonic efficiency, though they make an effort to stop and be polite and engaging. There are so many rooms here that there’s a vibe to suit everyone – from intimate and quiet to lively and sociable.

The Food
The restaurants and private dining rooms offer up gastronomic delights of all descriptions, with both exotic and traditional British variations on the finest meats and fish, and a tasting menu available in the Origin restaurant that allows your table to try several different things from the menu at once. Food like this is worth waiting for, and you usually will wait a while between courses. However, it’s at the top end of the price range even for its Covent Garden locale.

The Drink
The range of cocktails in the different bars is enough to keep you coming back every day for something new. The Bellini Bar is dedicated purely to modern twists on the bellini – you can enjoy your prosecco with blackberries, watermelon, pear and apricots to name a few.

The Last Word
This members club offers somewhere for London’s creative massive to relax. Whether you want a glamorous cocktail, a board game, or a four course a la carte meal - all of these and more are on offer, executed with a touch of elegance and discretion. This is one appointment at The Hospital you won’t want to miss!
