I live in Hackney and heard nothing but great banter about The Others, but had never managed to make it down.... you know how it is.

So when my mate had a gig there at a cabaret night I thought perfect.

It wasn't as hard to find as i had imagined and i was glad I did, upon ascending the stairs I was greeted by two beautiful women who decorated me with rose petals and blessed me with a kiss, very nice...

The venue itself is great, a large but not too big warehouse style space all kitted out with all the gear you could possibly wish to do your nite with and a private smoking area.

I found a comfy leather sofa and made base. The bar served excellent organic beers and wines as well as cider, Guinness spirits etc I was attending Jewel In The Mud a monthly cabaret night held on the 4th Thursday of the month,(although due to its popularity I was told, it is being moved to a Friday night from Sept 09).

It was great fun and the character spamalot was hilarious (yes he came on stage dressed in a man-sized can of spam...)and i shall definitely be returning.

I was reliably told by staff that a whole plethora of events take place from monthly exhibitions to burlesque to DJ parties. One to remember.

I've had some of the best evenings/nights here. It's a cool looking venue with all the ingredients for a great night. Friendly crowd, good music and very tasty food. go for it.
