It seems so odd everyone is saying the staff are rude. I've been going there for years and they've always been prompt and friendly. Maybe i just go on the best days. Oh and they are just doing up the downstairs into a live music venue so its not grubby any more! We stumbled across ukulele Wednesday this week and the atmosphere was brilliant.
The Royal George is an unsuspecting venue which, from the outside, looks fairly standard. On the inside, however, it's a bustle of hot girls and funky music. The service is very slow and you won't find a seat at peak times, but if you want to pop in for a quick one on the way somewhere else then it's definitely worth it.
Lively crowd, but incredibly slow service and the music was too loud.
I went to check out the music on offerat The Royak George - what a treat! Reggae/rap, then electronic and lastly Miss Davina Lee. Congratulations on a great lineup and to your super staff. I will return to The Royal George!
The Royal George is a little grubby round the edges but then so is my Granny and I still love her. I like to think of the Royal George as shabby chic, smells of piss but less than my gran too which is always a bonus!
Accidentally stumbled into the The Royal George during yet another drunken haze. Soon sobered up though. This place just seemed very odd - just had one drink and left very quickly. Bar staff were not particularly polite and I did not speak to anyone other than the mate I was with. Possibly just caught The Royal George on a bad night?
Check out the Blues jam nights on a Thursday at The Royal George, it's always a good night out and everyone in the crowd loves it. Apart from this The Royal George is a good place to hang out with your friends, the staff are usually friendly and there's a good mix of people.
