been here once, wont be back. bouncers on a power trip and ridiculous prices. thing is, i could handle ridiculous prices if there was good music, a nice vibe, or nice decor, or friendly staff. trap has none of these, and so its a shithole.
I went to Trap, and doorman there was rude. However the club was okay, although the music kept repeating itself. Everyone in Trap was ugly as well, no lie. I would not go there again.
This is exactly what it's called, a Trap! You think it's a good club by all the hassle at the door but the people at the door are rude and inside is full of snobs...I'll never go to Trap again.
Trap is an awful place. It's overpriced with rude bouncers and a sh!te decor - I particularly detest Trap, when I walk past the mere sight of it makes me queasy.
Well, I have just been reading some of the bad reviews for Trap that have been put on here and I am totally shocked! I have been to Trap a few times now and it seems to me that they are talking about a different club!
I have had really good nights at Trap. Yes, the drinks are expensive but what London club has cheap drinks? The music is wicked, the crowd is hot and the venue is really nice!
I found all the staff to be really friendly and would say that if you are looking for a club away from the tourist attraction of nearby Leicester Square then Trap is the place - wicked nights every time!
Trap is simply horrendous - overpriced, full of idiots, repetitive and uninspired RnB music, and falling apart!
The venue was OK when it re-opened as Trap but now it is a shabby little dive. Avoid like the plague!
I think its bout time someone from Trap looks at these comments. If I owned this this club I would be ashamed! Unless they do somthing about it Trap is going to get a bad name.
I've been to Trap twice and have to say that I agree with everyone about the drinks - they cost way too much.
Plus, I paid £15.00 to get in and I was on the guestlist! The worst thing of all though is the rude staff.
I can't be tooo nasty about Trap club itself - apart from the tiny dance floor, for such a well known club the music was alright.
After seeing pictures and reading the venue information for Trap, I was really looking forward to spending my friend's 21st birthday there.
He organised guestlist and a VIP area. When I arrived at Trap, I was surprised to find that it looked absolutely nothing like it does in the photos. Our VIP area at Trap was a raised platform with a sofa - enough to accomodate 18 people? I think not! We were also promised waitress service. Did it exist? No!
The floor at Trap was held together with masking tape and had large bobbles in areas around the bar where the cheap floor lining had got wet and ruined!
The only thing, Trap has to offer is that it plays good RnB music all night.
Trap was a complete waste of the £700.00 we paid for privileges that did not exist, leaving 18 very unhappy customers who want nothing but a refund.
Trap is not a good place to visit. It's small, overpriced and so far from what it was advertised as.
All I can say is, refund please!
Can't say much about Trap but was shocked at the way the arrogant bouncers treated customers at the door. These guys had to be the worst I have ever come across in London.
AsI entered the club I couldn't believe the bad damp smell everywhere. I cant believe I paid £10 to get into Trap. And I was on the guestlist. All I can say about this dump is to avoid it like the plague!
I dont usually waste my time writing reviews, but in this case I will make an exception. Trap has to be the worst club I have ever attended, and not just becuase of the over-priced drinks or decor of the building. The main reason why I say this is the ignornant, idiotic bouncres/door men who love nothing but giving attidute to people who just want to have a nice time.
They were rude, obnoxious and most of all unprofessional to my friends and I, for no reason - and we had our girls with us. I can honestly say to anyone who wants to have a nice night out. Avpoid Trap!
Do not go. Trap is an absolute dive. It is not a club, it is a basement. I could hold a better party in my garage. £8 a drink? The only way they could possibly justify this price is the fact that the drinks are spiked.
The floor at Trap is covered in ripped lino and duck tape, the only decor is the price list for the bar and the whole place smells of armpits. The music was ok, till they played crazy frog.
So if you are looking for a pricey night out in a box, listening to a novelty ringtone, then you can’t go wrong with Trap. Fran Cosgrove must be laughing all the way to the bank!
Drinks = Overpriced (£15 for 3 shots).
Decor = Looks like they just moved in and threw some sheets on the wall and some lights behind it.
Music = Complete rubbish.
DJ = Haven't a clue.
Staff = Not that bad actually, as long as you show them courtesy from the outset.
The only thing that was reasonably good at Trap were the four projectors playing hardcore manga, but I like manga... That was good, but completely inappropriate whilst R&B was playing.
Speaking of music, the DJs talk way too much on the mic, so much that it's hard to even hear the music - plus there is no flow and music often stops and you are left standing there...
People who say this place is good are obviously on some sort of medication. There are loads of better places around the area. It's not worth the hassle, entry fee, drinks or the fact you could have a better time in your parents' basement with a bottle of tequila...
I hardly go to Trap because I save it for the nights that I really want to have a good time. Trap is the only club in central London to go to when you want a good time... period.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE GUEST LIST THOUGH!
I went to Trap last week and had a wicked time. Trap has two main rooms and two really nice VIP lounges. We had no problem getting in and the place was packed. Wicked music all night got the place pumping! There was a great crowd including some celebrities. I would definitely go back to Trap. Keep up the good work!
We went to Trap on a Friday night and while the venue and drinks may be a little overpriced the club itself is a really nice venue. It wasn't too overcrowded so you could easily get to the bar and dance. All eleven of us were also given access to the VIP area at Trap which is a chilled and comfortable area for when you need a rest from all the dancing!
I don't know what everyone is moaning about, I've been to Trap twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed myself! Yes, the drinks are expensive but if you don't like it, don't go.
As for saying the club is full of wannabes, that's rubbish, if a wannabe is someone who wants to have a great night out, then I am a wannabe! Maybe you should stick to clubs like 'The Works' in Kingston?
As for the staff being rude, that's crap, we've always been treated well. Give them a break, they have to deal with drunken prats all night! Trap is a cool, hip club with a decent crowd and wicked music.
After travelling through Europe I can honestly say this is by far the worst club I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. The staff went out of their way to be unhelpful and arrogant, especially the door staff! The drinks were extortionately priced, the clientele left a lot to be desired. The decor was like a old fish factory, and we were searched like Taliban soilders on their way into the White House...and all this for a cover charge of £15. Take my advice, save your time and money by going elsewhere (anywhere).
Trap has really improved since it started opening as a place to go for a drink after work. I go down every Friday at 6pm. Entry is free, drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is great. You also get free entry to Smooth Grooves from 10pm-4am. It has changed itself from the club full of wannabes it once was! Now it has the real thing.
I went to the Warm Up Sessions after work, as I work close to Oxford Street at 6PM on Friday. The drinks were £2.50 each if I remember, the atmosphere was great and I ended up staying there all night until about 3am. It was also free to get in!
As with everyone else's comments, I have to say Trap is a definite no go area! The drinks/entrance fee/cloakroom are expensive, but that isn't the biggest problem, the problem is with their staff! They have such an attitude problem and what's with the bouncers between the upstairs and downstairs? We booked a private area, and he wouldn't let us back to our area, where coincidentally, there was a hefty drinks spend to be made. The decor needs to be updated too as the downstairs dance area is a real dump.
Trap is a hell hole filled with boozed up wannabes and drunk celebs puking up their own egos after paying extortionate prices for rubbish drinks. The whole place looks like a school disco gone wrong. The shabby glitter ball hanging from the ceiling says it all. If you are a muppet you will love this place.
All I can say is this place is overpriced! £15 to get in, drinks are £7 each, the interior is tacky and you have to queue to move between rooms! The staff are a joke as well, especially the bouncers with the high IQs...AVOID.
No exaggeration. This was the worst night of my life.
Is expensive to get in and then it takes ages to drop your coat off (for £5 by the way).
After all this queuing we were all sober, but to our horror found the drinks cost the price of a small third world country's national debt, so after 3 vodka and oranges we were done.
The bouncers are extremely arrogant, and push you around to where you can and can't go!
EXCUSE ME...for the price I paid to get in, I can go for a slash with out having permission from some meat head with the IQ of a rocking horse!
The people are pretentious and tacky, (girls with hair straightened to with in an inch of its life, and blokes with mullets, diamond earlings and von dutch caps - in other words, fools!).
STAY AWAY!
I dont know what everyone is talking about below!! I've been to TRAP quite a few times now and have had a great time every time, fair enough the drinks are expensive but come on this is london what do you expect when you go to a central london club we aren't up north now you know! As for the staff; the door staff are always friendly to us and the bouncers inside are great and always up for a laugh! The music is cool and the atmosphere is wicked! You will only get given attitude by others if you give it to them and in all our experiences of Trap we've never had a single bit of trouble!
Trendy, hip, cool and worth experiencing!
I went to Trap on Friday for 'Kiss Smooth Grooves' after it had been reopened. If there is any justice in this world, Trap will be shut down for good. The drinks are overpriced, expensive, and not even mixed correctly (£14 for 2 disinctly odd tasting Vodka & Oranges), the staff are rude, and not accommodating. Whenever you ask them a question they just grunt and look at you as if you're a piece of crap on the sole of their shoe. The interior is also cheap, tacky and looks like a DFS or Sofa factory warehouse. Finally the worst thing about it is the attitude of the other clubbers in there, with their overinflated "I'm so important I wish I was a celebrity but I'm not" type egos. You'd think clubbing was about going out and having a good time, but this place seemed as if most people were just looking for an excuse to kick off trouble (and more often than not it was generally over blokes trying to hit on girls). All in all and expensive night in a rubbish club which just smacks of unnecessary attitude and arrogance, there are much better and cheaper clubs in London, avoid Trap like the plague!
My first time in Trap will definately be my last! Although the music was OK the place is totally let down by shockingly expensive drinks and extremely rude staff. When you pay this much to get in a place you'd expect to have a good time but it's just not possible when the doormen and bar staff are so pretentious and unfriendly, and that goes for most of the crowd in there too. There are far better places to go on Wardour Street and I won't be going to this hole again.
I've been living in London for 5 years now and go clubbing a lot. But last Friday night I made the worst mistake ever...I went to Trap!! It was awful!!! The doormen and manager were extremely rude and I was charged twice for the same drinks at the bar! Speaking of the drinks...they're ridiculously over-priced for such a rubbish venue. The decor inside looks cheap and shabby and the same goes for the general crowd there. The place was better when it was Propaganda! My advice?? Steer well clear of this dump and enjoy yourselves at the many other excellent clubs that London has to offer!
If you're in London then you already know the score; it's expensive to get in and drinks are 8 quid for cocktails...but once you're in it's cool and ultra trendy. The vibe is pretty good and the music is wicked. It is a tad pretentious though...
