Ive just had my hen night at up the creek and can only recommend a brilliant night... there was 20 of us and we all throughly enjoyed the night... the staff were amazing having a laugh with us and the doorman we're the nicest decent doorman ive ever meet, not bully boys just gentleman.
The food was lovely went down a treat, the comedians were good, if you want the best comedians in town you gotta pay alot more for the "celebrity comedian".
Music was varied some old tunes havent heard for ages and some upto date music.
Drinks were also reasonably priced not expensive at all for a London Venue.
Thank you once again Up the Creek for making my hen night a night to remember.
Your not allowed to give no stars otherwise I would!
Comedy was ok... the last person who performed was very offensive - thinking it's funny that children are being stabbed and killed.
We were asked to leave for being too noisy! The bouncers attacked me and my friends. I ended up at the police station making a complaint and i'm now taking the matter further as my friend was punched by a bouncer and had his front tooth knocked out and my shoe was broken and I have numerous bruises on my hips, thighs and arms.
Don't go if your looking for a good night out as your not allowed to laugh too loudly!! And if you choose to laugh loudly and have fun then expect to be attacked - even if your a woman like myself.
This is by far the greatest comedy club in London. None of your rubbish you usually find in town but real gritty stand up. I've been here a lot over the last ten years and it just gets better - beware the front row though. You will get pick on . . . Long live the Creek!
Once again a fantastic night at this venue.... great acts ,helpful staff...10 out of 10....
long may they continue....
DON'T GO!! I was taken there for my birthday last Sat by a long term friend of mine and I had the worst night out ever!
There were 9 of us in our group who had travelled over an hour from Kent to be there.
Throughout the course of about an hour I was told to be quiet by three extremely rude 'bouncers' (I mean in a comedy club????!) for laughing too loud (again - ???)
I was told I would have to go upstairs to the separate bar if I continued to laugh loudly as I was surrounded by people who had paid good money to watch the show!!
What about my money? I had paid to go to a comedy club and laugh but apparently that's not allowed!!
My friend was also told off for walking too loudly to the toilet (??) Absolutely ridiculous!!
I wouldn't mind but the first act was so bad he was heckled by a lady on the front row.
She, however, was not told to be quiet but merely allowed to heckle him even more and he heckled back.
My advice to any loud laugher is in order to enjoy yourself you will need to be down right rude to the act trying to perform thus become part of the act and not laugh like the clubs name would suggest.
The restaurant is not a restaurant but actually a large dark and dingy room with a small bar and small tables and chairs and a small hot counter serving thai food on plastic plates similar to that of a bakers counter with neanderthal cutlery.
When my friend had finally had enough that I had been reduced to tears on the night out that had been promised to me would be enjoyable,
she asked to see the manager which she planned to speak to merely to ask if it would be at all possible to ask their bouncers to be a little less harsh on me and our party as we had been sitting near a man who's phone had kept ringing and who was drunken waving his phone around in the air with it's light blaring over us attempting to send a text but yet nothing ha
great club great comedians, unfortunately the bouncers have a real attitude problem which can spoil the evening somewhat
I attended Up the Creek on Saturday night with my family which ended in us all receiving our money back due to the disgusting way in which we were treated. I booked advance seats (£15 pp) with 4 members of my family who had never been to the comedy club before. On Saturday we were all sat a couple of rows from the back. halfway through, a group of 'women' on a hen night arrived complete with large flashing bunny ears! A few people around us asked the girls to remove their head gear as they couldn't see but they just received abusive responses and the girls refused At the first interval, we complained to the security guard and were told ' he had his eye on them'. The girls had become more lairy and were shouting abuse at people either side and making threats. At the begining of the second act when we could neither see nor hear, my husband asked the 'woman' in front if she would mind removing her flashing bunny ears. She responded with ' you don't need to f***ing see'...The security guard came over and asked if they would 'mind' removing the ears...they did for approx 20 seconds before they all put them back on again and began hurling abuse at everybody around them. When my husband went to the toilet, they all began turning around and shouting ' twat' and 'bitch' at myself and my family, despite us having not said a word to them, but being seven months pregnant and not with any men, they obviously decided we were nice vulnerable targets. After being shoved in the throat and hurled abuse at It was all very upsetting. through the last act they all stumbled in swinging their own glass vodka bottles they had hidden in their handbags and shouted and danced all the way through the last act. When people either side of them asked them to be quiet they were met with ' ****', 'f*** off' etc etc...and they just hurled abuse at the bouncer who seemed initmidated by them. I would give the place -5 if I could! Great place if you want to hang out with nasty scum!
