We came to the Vibe Bar with my boyfriend to celebrate the NYE ...Well... it is really difficult to review the place just because we had so different experience about the music, drinks and the atmosphere on the dance floor and about the overall organisation, cleanliness and the staff attitude towards clients... so we have decided to split the review in two sections.1. 4 out of 5 stars for music, fun, drinks etc! it was all awesome! people were having fun, the music was really cool, drinks are reasonably priced. 2. 1 out of 5 stars for cleanliness and the staff behaviour. Toilets are horrible!!! and women who were sitting there and giving out toilet paper and "managing" the queue were asking for tips!!! and they even didn't bother to clean toilets!! The cloakroom staff was incredibly rude and treated people as s**t - they were extremely disorganised and people couldn't get there coats for half an hour because they simply messed up all the ticket numbers! I ended up crying and I have seen many people who were really upset! Don't forget it was NYE! So ....I wouldn't recommend this place after all... despite the music was great!
Love the Vibe Bar. Spent a whole day here back in October and had an absolutely wicked time. Come back very often since and still have no bad comments. Great music, great drinks, great atmosphere, a great bar all in all.
Came here for the Brick Lane Music Festival, wow! Amazing time, King Tubbys soundsystem in the courtyard and David Rodigan playing! Completely unexpected and best time ever. Thank you Vibe Bar!
Awesome place, music was banging in the bar when I got there and only got better.
Outside area was a great place to chill out, biggest courtyard i've seen in London
Bar service was fast even though it was packed and if your clever you find the bar upstairs and its even quicker to get a drink
Best place on brick lane by a mile
Vibe Bar has a great mixture of music, their pizza and coffee is really good and the bar is usually nicely busy with a good mix of hip young East London things and a more down to earth crowd. They have a pretty great drink selection and their upstairs venue has some really interesting, varied stuff on as well. Had a bunch of great nights out there, either starting off or finishing up there, always a good time.
Worst door staff i have ever met big angry cockney. Belongs in a cage.
I checked out the Vibe Bar after reading all of these reviews about them.
They weren't even there. I found out they left a long time ago.A mate told me they're at Camden?
went there saturday, despite the bad reviews, had a good time, staff were nice, people nice, enjoyed it...
...only problem was draught lagers were off..but apart from that recommend it.
I've had some great great times at the Vibe Bar, one of my favourite bars in London. I highly recommend Sundays, the atmosphere is amazing!! The hog roast is super delicious and acoustic music great.
CONS 1. MUSIC - TOO LOUD! Are you kidding me with their line up? Their love affair for dark & gothic music is obviously apparent. I couldn't even hear my friends.
It's impossible to have a conversation in that place, hence why it's better to hang outside. I read somewhere that they jack up the volume, so you can buy more drinks = more money for the bar.
2. DIRTY & BLOCKED TOILETS! I mean gross! Trust me, you'll end up using the Vibe's toilets more than once, especially if you plan on drinking.
I wish I could control my bladder because I literally have to hold my noise and vomit every time I enter their toilets. They are disgusting.
Advice to owners: Realise that it's time to renovate those toilets if you want classy girls going to your bar.
Unless of course you like brining in low class girls who like a gross ambiance - urine on floors, vomit and unflushed toilets.
3. MANAGERS It's like stepping into a cheap zombie film set!
4. NOT ENOUGH SEATING IN COURTYARD! - If you're like me, you like to talk and socialise, but how the hell can you if you're in a loud bar?!?!
Go outside you may add. Well, sadly, there isn't enough seats since it became a food court similar to a shopping mall.
PROS: 1. PRICES ARE REASONABLY PRICED - Knowing we live in London, prices aren't that bad here.
Entry fee wasn't too bad, although not cheap either.
2. FOOD - I must say tasting BBQ in cold nights isn't too shabby. Tasted some of their burgers & they were pukka!
It's a plus they have food since after all that drinking, you're going to need some warm food to help you not get too drunk.
Odd thing is they had 2 South African BBQ's in a pretty small courtyard. Maybe the owners just <3 South African food - who knows?
All I can say is I'm in love with the SA BBQ with the zebra van. Oh, the there was this hot Texan guy serving me.
Bar wasn't the best in East London. They are in need of a serious makeover. When was the last time they remodeled the interior?
The toilets are disgusting too. Anyhow, you can just tell the owners are either too lazy to revamp the bar, they like their dingy bar, or maybe they don't want to spend money fixing it up.
Food wasn't that great either. I read reviews about this South African BBQ place and was looking forward to having myself a boerewors, but sadly they weren't there.
If you like a crappy dingy setting with loud obnoxious music, this is the place to be.
I really enjoyed the Vibe Bar solely because of its South African BBQ. I'm not much of a bar hopper and could care less for that area of town, but I must say, the food in the courtyard is really delicious and worth checking out. The burgers are huge and served with a warm cheese sauce, which makes them great even in the winter.
got to be in the running for the worst bar in London.
The rudest door staff known to man and about half the number of bar staff they actually need.
They also seem to employ some bizarre men:women ratio, so if you turn up in a mixed group, prepare for the blokes to be refused entry until some other men leave to 'balance out the numbers'
In short, avoid this place like the plague. It is dreadful
The worst venue I have ever been to, with double booked rooms and totally disorganised. Some of the staff were really cool, but others, not a brain cell between them. I was at a few events there recently and it was hell. Apparently the music shouldn't have started til after the event I was at, but drowned out this event to the point where it became a joke.
I won't bother with it again.
Forget about the bar!
Go for the South-African BBQ
Absolutely awesome!
I went to Vibe bar for the first time last week for a friends birthday, and I was pleasently surprised to find out that it lived up to expectations, especially as most trendy London areas often oversell themselves.
The atmosphere at Vibe Bar was great, and everyone was dancing. The drinks were very well priced and the selection was fantastic too. The music was of a very high quality too thus making vibe the whole package a great night out. I will definitely be going regularly.
I have lived in the East End for eleven years, and around the same time as my arrival the Vibe Bar opened. The last time I ventured into its muraled interior was some time ago, and my recent visits were a shock. The Vibe Bar is still fresh and distinctive and is miles above the local competition in regards to its music, its staff, cleanliness and its vibe.
I would reccomend this bar to everyone and anyone who is visiting London, the UK and Brick Lane as everytime I have visted recently the music policy has been varied but consistently well put together.
Vibe Bar rocked! I liked the young artsy crowd and the female DJ was really good. The drinks weren't that pricey, which is good since its London. The cold weather didn't stop me and my friends from chilling outside on the courtyard benches. They have tents with heaters and the catering is delicious too.
They have South African barbeque which I didn't think would be so awesome in the winter. Vibe Bar is a place worth checking out, especially if you like sitting outdoors where it's nice and warm. Trust me if you are tired of the loud music inside, you'll appreciate the heated tents.
The Vibe Bar... let's see now. If you're looking for a dark, dingy hell hole full of people who've yet to find the word 'shower' in their vocabulary then you've found the right dump. Sorry, place.
Vibe Bar has the nerve to charge an entry fee and once you've realised it's a waste of time and money you face the 'paparazzi' of unlicenced taxi drivers outside who are like the preverbial flies around... And rude to say the least.
To sum it up - God awful place. Stick to Soho, Islington and Covent Garden for a more sophisticated bunch and a place where you don't have people ushering you out of the toilet (seriously!) There seems to be this myth that Brick Lane is trendy. Can't see it myself.
Vibe Bar is absolutely brilliant. This is not the sort of place me and my crew will normally go to, but I had such a brilliant time, staff friendly, drinks cheap, music fantastic. Yeah baby, will definitely go to Vibe Bar again soon.
What a shame about the Vibe Bar. It has fantastic decor, is a good size, there's a great outdoor area, a cracking barbeque and awesome music. The only problem is that the volume of the music makes my ears bleed.
I went to the Vibe Bar for a nice drink on a Sunday afternoon and just walked straight back out when I felt my head vibrating.
Vibe Bar has a massive courtyard which is great for a pint on a hot day and is its saving grace. At any other time, try 93 Feet East just down the road.
Love it! Drinks are really well priced and some decent DJs spinning some dirty tunes -Vibe Bar is often good as a pre-club bar.
Vibe Bar is surprisingly very unpretentious for Shoreditch and every time I've been there not at all 'up their own arse' which is always a winner. Lots of extremely fit men.
Vibe Bar is ok but nothing to write home about. The clientele appear to think they are trendy but in all honesty they are a bit behind the times. The Vibe Bar is the first place I saw a DJ turn up with 2 lap tops instead of decks, call me old fashioned but that's just not right!
Free internet access is cool, and the seats are fairly comfy and all, it's just I hate students, and if you do too, stay well clear.
xxx Nick
